Feds See Biggest Tax Revenue Drop Since 1932

Recession's toll comes as Congress and president try to fund programs

WASHINGTON
- The recession is starving the government of tax revenue, just as the president and Congress are piling a major expansion of health care and other programs on the nation's plate and struggling to find money to pay the tab.

The numbers could hardly be more stark: Tax receipts are on pace to drop 18 percent this year, the biggest single-year decline since the Great Depression, while the federal deficit balloons to a record $1.8 trillion.

Other figures in an Associated Press analysis underscore the recession's impact: Individual income tax receipts are down 22 percent from a year ago. Corporate income taxes are down 57 percent. Social Security tax receipts could drop for only the second time since 1940, and Medicare taxes are on pace to drop for only the third time ever.

Analysis: Some Health Care Numbers Don't Tally

Math is complicating efforts by president to get approval for his top priority

WASHINGTON
- Some of President Barack Obama's health care numbers don't seem to add up. And that's complicating his efforts to pass his top domestic priority.

Obama could be falling into the same trap that snagged George W. Bush when he was pushing private accounts for Social Security as part of his "ownership society" in 2005. Bush's claims that the proposal would help shore up Social Security's long-term finances were hard to document mathematically and wound up feeding greater public skepticism.

Obama claims his health effort will not dig the nation deeper into debt and over time will help reduce deficits. He has vowed to not sign any health bill that raises deficits.

White House: No Middle-Class Tax Hike

WASHINGTON (Aug. 3) -- The White House spokesman said Monday that President Barack Obama is committed to not raising taxes on U.S. families earning less than $250,000.

Robert Gibbs restated that assurance Monday after two top White House officials suggested over the weekend that they could not rule out tax increases as the administration struggles to cut the budget deficit in half in the coming years.

Dems Vow Health Bill With Or Without GOP

Frustrated with the pace of bipartisan talks, Democratic leaders promise to push a sweeping health care bill through the Senate whether they get Republican support or not.

'We will have contingencies in place,' says New York Sen. Schumer

WASHINGTON
- Frustrated with the pace of bipartisan talks, Democratic leaders on Monday promised to push a sweeping health care bill through the Senate whether they get Republican support or not.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the third-ranking Senate Democrat, raised the prospect of the leadership crafting a bill to Democratic specifications and using a rare legislative procedure to expedite legislation fulfilling President Barack Obama's top domestic priority.

"We will have contingencies in place. These plans will likely be considered as a last resort, but they are on the table," Schumer told reporters on a conference call. He declined to elaborate.

Here's The Truth

Our great wealth in the 20th century was in part predicated on natural bounty — farmland, oil, coal, iron ores, timber, etc. — under the aegis of a wonderfully stable constitution. The 21st will adjudicate whether our prior success was also predicated on superior intellect, law, and culture, inasmuch as our resources are now not so singular on the world stage. America to remain exceptional more than ever is going to have to have unusual citizens that are as lawful as they are creative.

Unless we return to a meritocracy, emphasize science, math, liberal arts, and engineering — rather than the plague of ‘studies’ courses (as in environmental-, leisure-, gender-, Latino-, black-, Asia-, Chicano-, community-, feminist-studies, etc.) — we simply will not match the Chinese and Indians in this century.

The American people are waiting for a leader bold enough to balance budgets, restore meritocracy, end the therapeutic mushy sentimentality in our educational system, and insist on the rule of law, free markets, and limit government.

Otherwise we know the ultimate end of the present road: a vast bureaucracy of non-taxpaying incompetents, damning the estranged few for not producing ever more to be taxed, convinced that they are geniuses — and only due to some sort of unfairness have been surpassed by others.

The Chinese are rough, competent people and have no such delusions. In about 10 years their enormous financial power will begin to translate into military sophistication, and I don’t think their foreign policy will either have much to do with human rights or care much about what we have to say about them.

Lowering the Drinking Age?

Launched in July 2008, the Amethyst Initiative is made up of chancellors and presidents of universities and colleges across the United States. These higher education leaders have signed their names to a public statement that the problem of irresponsible drinking by young people continues despite the minimum legal drinking age of 21, and there is a culture of dangerous binge drinking on many campuses.
The Amethyst Initiative supports informed and unimpeded debate on the 21 year-old drinking age. Amethyst Initiative presidents and chancellors call upon elected officials to weigh all the consequences of current alcohol policies and to invite new ideas on how best to prepare young adults to make responsible decisions about alcohol use.
As of July 12, 2009, more than 100 college presidents and chancellors have signed the letter, with over 20 more since then. One of the key features of the Amethyst Initiative is to lower the drinking age to 18. See http://www.amethystinitiative.org/ for more details.

The Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has just published the results of a study that found that binge drinking among the under 21 population has decreased nationwide with the institution of a drinking age of 21 – everywhere, that is, except on college campuses.

An editorial on July 12th in the Washington Post stated, “Those on college campuses who favor a lower drinking age point out that students will decide to drink regardless of the law, and forcing them to do so in secret and illegally will make such behaviors such as binge drinking harder to monitor. But outside college campuses, where underage drinking is clearly prohibited, young people have more often made the decision not to drink. This, in turn, has helped drive down drunk driving, assault and other unsafe behaviors. The journal's study drives home the fact that when young people know that the law will be upheld, they adjust their behavior. It's time for college administrators to stop passing the buck to the drinking age and start taking their loco parentis role more seriously. Instead of complaining about the drinking age, they should try enforcing it.”
Local law enforcement is shaky. It's been observed that at off-campus parties where underage drinking is clearly occurring, officers are overwhelmed by the numbers of partiers; just breaking the party up is an effort that takes several officers (sometimes all that are then currently on the street) hours, often without the checking of I.D.s. Many witnesses have stated that the partygoers leave the party carrying alcohol, piling into vehicles which may or not be driven by those who are underage and/or under the influence. Those who are cited for underage drinking do make it to court, but the lion's share of them who do walk after their cases are nolle prossed or put on the stet docket. Salisbury University officials state that underage drinking is a problem and that those who are caught face in-house sanctions, although those numbers are a closely guarded secret, falling under what are allegedly privacy issues.

It is this writer's opinion that lowering the drinking age is, at its face, a poorly conceived idea, that allowing more drinking, especially off-campus, invites more bad behavior, more binge drinking, more upset of the teetering balance of allowable behavior among our college students.

AARP – Another Lefty Lobby

We recently did a post on the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (MLCV) and their decision to rate Maryland legislators on EARLY VOTING.  We posed the question – What does early voting have to do with environmentalism?

Today I received an email from the Maryland chapter of AARP asking me to email my senators in support of “Cap and Tax”.  For those of us at that certain age in life, AARP offers lots of great benefits; discounts on travel, insurance, etc.  However, I become increasingly dismayed with groups that claim to be supporting certain issues and then use our dues money to promote left wing causes like “Cap and Tax” and ObamaCare (last week AARP hosted a “Tele-Town Hall” that did told every left wing lie possible about Obama Care).

Something tells me that AARP supports early voting too.  What has that got to do with being a senior?  We vote in high numbers already.

Doesn’t the Kratovil / Obama Crowd Have Enough to Do?

I’m all for a civil exchange of ideas.  I’m all for a spirited debate.  I just like a little substance with those ideas and debates.

With “Blue Dog Frank” Kratovil (on WICO with Bill Reddish last week he somehow managed to put “Blue Dog” in almost every sentence) coming back to the shore and trying to explain away being Nancy Pelosi’s lap dog, the left is out attempting to defend every attack against the records of Kratovil and their anointed messiah – Barack Hussein Obama.

Case on point – a recent SbyNEWS post regarding the New Black Panther Party and the Obama Justice Department’s decision to drop their case – AFTER they had already secured a civil judgment against the parties involved.  What was the response from our local lefties?

Really intelligent 10:30. This is a totally bogus story without merit. Voter intimidation hawever (sic) has been in the Republican playbook for more than 50 years. Answer this: Why would Republicans be so interested every election in suppressing the vote? Could it be that their ideas and platform are out of touch with the masses? I think so.

Check out the video.  I guess it was just bad lighting and that was really a white guy wielding a night stick at a polling place.

Republicans are interested in making sure that people who show up to vote are actually who they say they are.  Republicans are interested in making sure the ballot box wasn’t stuffed.  It seems to be the left that is interested in registering ghost voters (ACORN) or protecting people who really are practicing voter intimidation (Obama DOJ).

Domestic Dispute Results In Trooper Shooting Suspect

Georgetown- The following news release outlines additional details surrounding the officer involved shooting from yesterday.

This incident began with a domestic dispute at approximately 1:00 p.m. at a residence along the 28000 block of Wynikako Avenue in Millsboro. Initially, a verbal argument ensued between David C. Bethard, his 38-year-old girlfriend and her 19-year-old daughter. As the argument escalated, Bethard was asked to leave the residence, but he refused.

He went into the kitchen and obtained several large kitchen knives. He then held the knives in a threatening manner and advised that everyone was going to die. The 19-year-old fled the home and called 911. The suspect then took his girlfriend from the residence against her will.

The daughter advised the State Police dispatcher center, SUSCOM, of the facts surrounding the incident at the home and also told them that Bethard was armed. This information was relayed to the responding Troopers.

When the initial confrontation with the officer ensued, the Trooper gave Bethard several lawful commands for him to surrender. The suspect put his hands in his pockets and refused to take them out.

Then, instead of coming peacefully, the suspect threatened the officer. He then lunged at the Trooper and quickly withdrew his hands from his pockets while holding a black object. This object later proved to be a cellular phone. In fear for his life, the Trooper fired a single round from his divisionally issued weapon, striking the suspect.

Charges:
In reference to the officer involved shooting, warrants are now on file charging David Bethard with Resisting Arrest and Menacing (both misdemeanors).

In reference to the domestic, warrants are now on file charging Bethard with the following offenses: two counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony), Kidnapping (felony), two counts of Aggravated Menacing (felony) and two counts of Terroristic Threatening (misdemeanor).
He will be formally charged upon his release from the hospital.

The officer involved in this shooting is identified as Captain Charles Simpson, the Troop 4 Commander in Charge. As a matter of routine procedure, he has been placed on Administrative Duty.

GM Buyout Offers Fall Short, Layoffs Loom

6,000 workers took offers, but automaker needed about 13,500 total

DETROIT
- General Motors Corp. said Monday about 6,000 blue-collar workers have taken the latest round of early retirement and buyout offers. But that is apparently not enough to prevent thousands of layoffs.

GM now has about 54,000 factory workers and wants to end the year with 40,500, a cut of about 13,500. That means the offers fell about 7,500 short of the company's goal.

The automaker announced in June that it would close 15 factories employing 22,000 workers by the end of 2012.

Michael Jackson's Life Insurance Paid Out

Records don’t indicate how much was paid to estate administrators

LOS ANGELES - Court filings state the administrators of Michael Jackson's estate have received the King of Pop's life insurance proceeds.

The records, filed Friday in Los Angeles, are redacted and don't indicate how much the policy paid out. The filings state that money designated for Jackson's three children has been received by a trust being handled by special administrators of the singer's estate.

The filings are meant to augment a petition to give the children a monthly stipend. Another filing indicates Jackson's mother, Katherine, is also eligible for some benefits from the policy.

O'Malley's March To Washington

Are governor's treks with D.C. officials part of a larger plan?

Gov. Martin O'Malley stood beside Vice President Joseph Biden on Tuesday at a Philadelphia event to discuss police grants from the federal government.

The week before, O'Malley (D) and Education Secretary Arne Duncan were in Baltimore to release city test scores. And two weeks before that, O'Malley moderated a panel discussion on the swine flu in Washington that included Duncan, Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

For the governor from a little state safely in the Democratic fold, O'Malley is spending a lot of time hobnobbing with the Obama administration.

Few Takers For New Small-Business Loans

$255 million available in short-term, interest-free cash

Last month, the U.S. Small Business Administration launched a program offering cash-strapped small businesses short-term, interest-free loans of up to $35,000. So far, few lenders are participating in the program and only a handful of borrowers have sought the help.

The America's Recovery Capital Loan program was funded to the tune of $255 million by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the stimulus package enacted in February. Through Thursday, 919 loans totaling $29.9 million had been processed nationwide under the program, according to William McMullen, regional communications director for the SBA region that encompasses Maryland, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware. That's an average of $32,535 per loan. It also means that at least 6,400 loans are still available.

Wright's Market Annual Watermelon Festival

Hi Joe,

"I attended the Wright's Market Annual Watermelon Festival in Mardela Springs on Saturday. It was a great event for families and kids of all ages. They had a Little Miss Watermelon Princess pageant, seed spitting contest, and watermelon bowling. The Hebron Fire Dept. was there giving fire truck rides and the Wicomico County Sheriffs Office was there showing children their mobile command unit. Wright's Market donated free watermelon slices and ears of corn. This was such a well put together event! I applaud Wright's Market for their wonderful event and wish we had more things like this in the area to take our families to. While I was there, I stepped into their store and realized how great it was! I hope more people take advantage of this festival next year. It is definitely something I will attend every year. It is great to be able to support our locally owned businesses.

Thanks to Wright's Market for a great day!"

BREITBART: On Race, 'No, He Can't!'

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Well, that was pathetic. And it wasn't an accident. The fix was in from the beginning.

Last week's lackluster "Beer Summit" featuring Sgt. James Crowley, professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., President Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was orchestrated to end a national discussion on race, not begin one. That's why there were no microphones, even though each participant showed himself to be perfectly qualified, astoundingly articulate and camera-ready for an illuminating and much-needed public debate.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post

"Cleophus Downington has left a new comment on your post "Is This Really Smoking Gun Of Obama's Kenyan Birth...":

To all comment authors

My name is Cleophus Downington and I am a frequent reader of this blog as well as many others. For the record and possibly irrelavent, I am a white male, aged 54 and a Republican. I supported McCain/Palin and I have lived on the Eastern Shore most of my life with the exception of college. I also will confess upfront I am a horrible speller.

I write in defense of Mad Black Woman. She is not, I repeat not a racist. Her tag line is from her blog - Blog of a Mad Black Woman. She is probably one of the most sensible bloggers on the net today!

Although I respect Mr. Albero and his right to his opinion, I find this blog very informative. But MBW makes some valid points. Most of the comments to her post could not refute some of her points.

Mr. Albero, I have met you a few times by way of a cordial "hello" in passing. I do not know you personnally and what I do know is primarily from this blog. I feel your blog does serve a purpose. But I employ that your readers and yourself do a bit more research before labeling someone as a racist in lieu of the points being made.

And Joe, If I may call you so - I believe you are above this nonsense.

If people cannot express opposing opinions without being attacked and insulted, what is the purpose of your blog?

BTW - I agree with MBW. But maybe she might want to refrain from her tag line because as she would put it "haters won't get it!"

Salisbury News readers try exploring outside your box and read opposing views. It may give you a better insight before jumping to non factual attacks.

Not afraid to sign my name

Cleophus, I thank you for your comment. While I do NOT agree with many comments being posted, the idea of a Blog is to open the door for others to express their opinion. China Seals Off Town Amid Plague Outbreak

Officials link 2 deaths to infectious disease caused by Black Death bacteria

BEIJING
- A second man has died of pneumonic plague in northwest China, in an outbreak that prompted authorities to lock down a town where about a dozen people were infected with the highly contagious deadly lung disease, a state news agency said.

The World Health Organization office in China said it was in close contact with Chinese health authorities and that measures taken so far to treat and quarantine sickened people were appropriate.

Disturbing Content On New Black Panther's MySpace Page

The Department of Justice recently dropped the conviction of Jerry Jackson member of the “New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense” (NBPP). The Washington Times has covered the Black Panther reversal at the Department of Justice revealing,

"Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perelli, No.3 official in the Obama Justice Department, was consulted and ultimately approved a decision in May to reverse course and drop a civil complaint accusing three members of the New Black Panther Party of intimidating voters in Philadelphia during November's election, according to interviews."

Rewritten Health Plan

#1) Presently, only certain insurance companies offer certain policies in certain states. If it is the legislature’s opinion that healthcare insurance should be “universal”, why not let the private sector give it a go first? Open up all policies to all customers nationwide to choose the policies that fit themselves and their families best.

What this will do is reduce the number of intricate policy differences and micro departments within the same companies (i.e.< BCBS; BS of CA, BC of DE, etc.). The cost savings in staffing and comingling of files and services alone would be astronomical.

#2) Presently, insurance is most commonly offered by an employer. This works better because health benefits are pre- tax dollars paid to an employee. If the employer gave the money directly to the employee in order to buy his own insurance, he would have to take out payroll tax on it, leaving the employee with only 2/3 of the monthly buying power until he could file for the appropriate refund. If the employee decided not to participate in a healthcare plan, and the employer paid him untaxed money to buy it with, the employer would be in IRS trouble.

Let’s keep the employer out of health care. A policy he chooses for the company isn’t going to fit each and every employee equally anyway. Why do we even have employers choosing our health care plans for us now, anyway? It doesn’t make good sense. The only thing that does make sense is for each individual to be able to choose the policy that fits that person’s personal needs and situations. Change whatever state and federal rules to make this happen.

#3) Social Security and Medicare/ Medicaid shouldn’t have anything to do with each other. Why they are tied together is beyond comprehension.
Social Security should have only to do with making sure that those who worked for a living throughout their lives in this great country and paid money into this system should be somewhat protected form living out their lives in terrible destitution. The only connection Social Security should have with any other entity of either the private sector or government agency is to share the records to see who is or is not a participating member of Social Security.

Medicare and Medicaid should be, again, run but the insurance companies on a competitive basis. Those who spent their lives working hard and paying taxes deserve decent medical care through their retirement years. Those who did not contribute need to seek care from the country they did contribute to or, if they chose not to work here and contribute, they must pay their own way.

A note here about the Hippocratic Oath.

Since Hippocrates, doctors are sworn that no matter what the patient’s financial status, anyone in need of medical care shall not be denied for any reason. We Americans hold this holy and not to be tread upon. There is no question that if a person is in dire need of care, that the basic life saving and infection curing procedures shall be done. But we must be good stewards of our resources. We cannot afford to extend unnecessary care to those in our society who refuse to join in the workforce. Infants and children of non working families should receive less care than those of working parents. Universal “programs” are cost prohibitive, and cannot be supported by those of us who work. While everyone should be able to receive basic emergency care, follow up and creative care needs to be limited to the working tax paying people who pay for their own insurance or otherwise pay for the services rendered.

4) Therefore, regular health insurance that is being paid for by those in society who work for society will wind up financing Medicare and Medicaid for those members of working families in need of such services through their insurance premiums.

Those in our society who absolutely cannot work because of severe birth defects or catastrophic injury will also be included to receive health care and any rehab that would enable them to get into some niche of working society.

5) We have in our present day society many people who do not participate in our tax system. Some are American born who choose not to work, but to position themselves in our current “entitlement” programs. This arterial bleeding must stop, and the only way to stop it is to disqualify the able bodied AND the able minded people who can work. I know of so many people who work as hard at staying in the system as I do working at my job! If a person has the ability to do this, he has the ability to work at something productive and should be denied benefits of the giveaway system. If such people get sick or injured, they might be able to get minimal life saving care, but no more unless they pay cash. These people should suffer more than others; as they chose their position themselves.

6) We also have an immigrant problem here in America, and that is something that we need to address; not in this legislation, but by U.S. Immigration & Naturalization. Documented legal immigrants need to be paced through the Naturalization system and either pass the American History and English tests within a certain time frame or get deported back to their country of origin and allowed to try again in 5 years. During the time they are in Citizenship Training, they need to be employed and paying taxes as part of their education. Those who pass will be made citizens and be required to work tax paying jobs at least ¾ of each year for the first 5 years, or be deported and their citizenship cancelled.

Undocumented immigrants will need to be found and deported with the 5 year penalty for not signing up legally to start. If they become in need of medical care, only life saving measures will be taken, and they will be deported as soon as they are able to travel, even if it’s on a gurney to a hospital in their country of origin, If that hospital denies them entry, well, I guess they will die at the airport in their country of origin!.

SUMMARY

If one idea reigns throughout our Constitution of the United States it is the idea that we are a free people, and as a free people, we have the freedom to work and earn our way through life as WE SEE FIT. We should be able to choose our own health insurance policies and those of our elders, as we see fit. We should also be able to choose no insurance at all, and to not work, and to suffer through a horrible death as a result. A free society will stay a healthy society, and that’s the best “universal” health plan of all.

If there is any second idea that reigns throughout the Constitution, it is to keep the Federal government out of our most personal business, and our personal health care is just about as personal as things get. After all, that’s why we have HIPPA laws. I would challenge each and every Congressman and Senator to read the HIPPA laws, and put any and all pages of the current proposed bill to the litmus test of these laws and conclude to any other answer than the obvious one; that the bill as a whole fails to abide by any laws, HIPPA or our Constitutional.

"FIXTIME.COM" On The Auction Block

The long standing Website Domain Name FixTime expired and was picked up by a private company who now has it up for sale for $4,500.00 minimum.

Sounds pretty cheap to me! If you're a local Jeweler looking to pick up on anyone searching the Internet for Clock Repair and so forth, for $4,500.00 you're in business right out of the gate.

Robinson just keeps slipping up and failed to pay $10.00 to keep his Domain Name. Things must be REALLY tight not to fork up $10.00 but it's out of his hands now and available for anyone interested. If he gets it back it will cost him at least $4,500.00.

In Search Of Youth, Women Turning To Hormones

But such treatments have not been approved by the FDA for anti-aging

Sometime after her 43rd birthday, Dawn Foley noticed she was beginning to look her age. And she didn’t like it one bit. A former beauty queen turned sales professional in Los Angeles, the blue-eyed brunette is used to turning heads. “I just did not want to look older,” she says. “You end up with wrinkles. Your skin starts to sag. And no matter how much you exercise, you just don’t have the body you had when you were 30.” She tried everything to stop the clock: diet pills that claim to stave off weight gain; photo facials and Fraxel laser treatment to rejuvenate skin and erase wrinkles. She even had her breasts lifted. “I’m happy with those,” she says. “But I wanted to look younger without any more surgery.”

Obama’s Promises Are A Work In Progress

John W. Schoen

ELKHART, Ind.—
When President Barack Obama last visited Elkhart, Ind., in February, he was trying to generate popular support for a massive economic stimulus package, then facing growing opposition in Congress. It was his third visit to the economically hard-hit area in less than a year, and he used his visit to tout the benefits of his program to Elkhart and the nation.

“I promised you (during the election campaign) that, if elected I’d do everything I could to help this community recover," he told a cheering crowd. "That’s why I came back today, because I intend to keep my promise.”

Will Obama Raise Taxes On Middle Class?

WASHINGTON (Aug. 3) - Two of President Barack Obama's economic heavyweights said middle-class taxes might have to go up to pare budget deficits or to pay for the proposed overhaul of the nation's health care system.

The tough talk from Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers on Sunday capped a week that brought rare good news for the economy: The worst recession in the United States since World War II could be on the verge of ending. Even so, officials appeared willing to extend unemployment benefits.

Urban Salisbury Reaches Out To Downtown Property Owners

My hat is tipped to Mr. Hope for finally reaching out to the property owners throughout Downtown Salisbury. Our hope is that the property owners and business people will come forward and offer any ideas they might have to better the plan Urban Salisbury currently has in mind.

One business owner said to me, this is $250,000.00 that could go towards economic & development, rather than dressing up the Plaza. I happen to agree but until enough people come forward and address this issue, things will flow exactly how Urban Salisbury wants it.

The public is also welcome to this meeting, so I hope plenty of people show up.

American Capitalism Gone With A Whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America ..

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America 's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK 's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

IT WAS A STANDOUT WEEK FOR FRANK KRATOVIL

Like him or not, the Congressman deserves high marks for his resolute stand against his party’s leaders (Pelosi, Hoyer, Frank, to name the most dangerous) on the health “ObamaCare” bill, which will not meet its fate until after Congress returns from summer vacation. That delay probably will result in much better (or less bad) legislation than if it had been rushed through the House of Representatives this week.

Mr. Kratovil stated his position and concerns about the legislation in a letter published in the Baltimore Sun at the beginning of the week. In the face of extreme pressure from the Democrat leadership, he stood his ground until they caved. Had he cut and run from the high ground, the outcome might well have been different.

To end the week, he voted against a bad bill that will further inject the leftist liberal agenda into our free enterprise system – by allowing for limits on executive pay – which was passed by the House. The other Maryland Democrat members voted for that bill. The only other member from Maryland who voted against it was the Republican, Roscoe Bartlett, from western Maryland. Delaware’s Mike Castle also voted against it.

Despite his earlier vote for the Cap-Trade bill, Mr. Kratovil is emerging as a political moderate, and it is clear that he is not a pawn or puppet of Nancy Pelosi or the Democrat Party.

REMINDER OF THE BASIC BELIEF OF ISLAM

This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry. The man who walks with God always gets to his destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose.

The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States , especially in the minority races!!!

Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.

When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: 'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'

There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!'

I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All Followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'

He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'

I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestan ts to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'

The Imam was speechless!

I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me!

Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'

You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the Diversification training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President!

I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us send it on! This is your chance to make a difference...

Mike Miller Makes A Pledge

Thought some might want to have a beer with Miller to discuss his pledge while he's in town for the MaCo conference.

1. What is the purpose of the Transportation Trust Fund? answer: To pay for road repairs.

2. What are gas taxes used for?
answer: To fund the Transportation Trust Fund.

3. What happened to the money that was in the Transportation Trust Fund?
answer: Legislators borrowed from it to fund other things.

4. Why does Miller want to raise gas taxes?
answer: The Transportation Trust Fund ran out of money to borrow for other things.

POLICE REALLY DO CARE

Lexington Police Department reports finding a man's body in the Kentucky river just west of the Clays Ferry Bridge ....

The dead man's name will not be released until his family has been notified.

The victim apparently drowned due to excessive beer consumption. He was wearing black fish net stockings, a red garter belt, a strap-on dildo, and an Obama tee shirt.

The police removed the Obama tee shirt to spare his family any unnecessary embarrassment.

Make as many events as you can.  Let “Blue Dog Frank” know that you aren’t fooled by his claims of fiscal conservatism.  Tell Kratovil that you don’t want socialized medicine and won’t support a candidate who supports a government takeover of almost 20% of our economy.

Also, don’t forget to let Frank know that you’ll be sending him your utility bills since they’ll be going up thanks to his vote in favor of “Cap and Tax”.

The Plan!

Robin Williams, wearing a shirt that says 'I love New York ' in Arabic.

You gotta love Robin Williams.......Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East , and thePhilippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere..' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army.. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH..learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

'The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' '

The Best Comeback Of All Time

General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently.
Read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of of all time.

It is a portion of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military Headquarters.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radiocast went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned, the interview was over.

Tis The Watermelon Season

Every year the local Motels start booking rooms for transient workers who are willing to do jobs most local Americans simply aren't willing to do. In this case, 5 workers cover this field, 3 outside the bus and two inside the bus. The driver slowly moves across the field while three guys toss watermelons to each other. The third guy tosses them one by one to the 5th guy inside the bus who stacks them. Its long hours in very hot weather.
