MAN CHARGED IN ASSAULT ON TANEYTOWN OFFICER

(Baltimore, MD) – Maryland State Police investigators went to a Baltimore hospital today and served a warrant on the Carroll County man who is accused of assaulting a police officer and a woman when he attempted to run them down in Taneytown two nights ago.

Gary D. Wolfe, 37, of the 300-block of East Main Street, Westminster, Md., was served with a warrant today charging him with two counts of first degree assault and two counts of second degree assault. Maryland State Police homicide investigators served the warrant on Wolfe today at 2:00 p.m., at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he is a patient. Wolfe remains hospitalized for treatment of a gunshot wound he sustained when a Taneytown police officer defended himself and a woman who was lying in a roadway when Wolfe attempted to run them down with his car at about 10:15 p.m. on July 8, 2009.

After troopers served the warrant, a court commissioner held a bond hearing and ordered Wolfe held without bond. Wolfe remains under guard at the hospital.

COHEN CORRECTS AND CLARIFIES DAILY TIMES ARTICLE REGARDING CHIEF WEBSTER

PRESS STATEMENT BY TERRY E. COHEN, SALISBURY CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
JULY 10, 2009

COHEN CORRECTS AND CLARIFIES DAILY TIMES ARTICLE REGARDING CHIEF WEBSTER

The Daily Times today did another disservice to the citizens of Salisbury by crafting a front-page of alleged news out of the newspaper’s speculation about vague rumors. This drains time, resources and attention away from important work and issues of the City, including crime, blight, and problems at the wastewater treatment plant.

Today, I hope to correct and clarify information about actions of which I have direct knowledge in an effort to maintain the public trust with transparency to the greatest possible degree allowed by law.

First, I did not collaborate with Council Member Debbie Campbell on any document concerning Salisbury Police Chief Alan Webster. I cannot speak for what Councilwoman Campbell may or may not have done, but can only speak for my own actions.

I wrote (under my own signature alone) and hand-delivered to Mayor Jim Ireton a letter reporting concerns raised in a meeting with constituents about crime, law enforcement and quality of life issues. The letter also addressed other citizen complaints. It included issues raised at the Mayor’s Crime Task Force open meeting, which I attended in June. I advised the Daily Times reporter of these facts.

Some details in the letter constitute personnel issues. Therefore, I cannot answer questions about them or provide more about the letter’s contents than the information above.

Second, I simply did my job as an elected representative of the people of Salisbury to inform the mayor of constituent issues and complaints concerning law enforcement and one or more city employees, as well as my own concerns based on this information. An elected representative relaying such concerns to the elected chief executive officer who administers operations and staff is a normal process of government. It is the mayor’s job, by charter, to decide what, if any, action is needed.

I cannot speak for what Mayor Ireton has or has not done with my letter, or will or will not do with it. Mayor Ireton is the only person to whom I’ve provided the letter. Again, by charter, it is his decision what, if anything, is to be done next regarding the information.

In the future, if there is newsworthy action or information concerning personnel or operations that can be provided to the public within the limits of the law, I trust that will be provided. Until then, I look forward to returning my attention to the important job I have of representing the citizens of Salisbury and working on their behalf.

Salisbury Residents, YOU ARE SO SCREWED IT ISN'T FUNNY!

Today at 3:00 PM Mayor Jim Ireton chose his words VERY carefully expressing the position the City is in with the Salisbury Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Here's the deal in a nutshell, you're screwed. The system is NOT doing what it is supposed to do and it does NOT meet the MDE Standards. Who's at fault, well, Mr. Ireton actually refused to point fingers at anyone, even after I asked him flat out, someone has to be liable. Someone signed off each step of the way. We used every possible example to get him to understand that in business and or even a home construction loan, the Bank will not pay out checks until certain parts of the contract are complete, who signed off on those checks. He refused to answer that question, no matter how we presented it.

After spending $84,000,000.00, will the taxpayers be footing the bill for getting the WWTP up to speed? Mr. Ireton kept going back to the former contractor who Wilber stated has been suspended. They kept beating around the bush NOT answering the obvious, this project is going to Court.

I asked since the MDE was a PARTNER in the project and put up 1/2 of the money, will they be handling the lawsuit. Mr. Ireton stated that the MDE is NOT on the Contract, SO THE TAXPAYERS ARE SCREWED!

Now don't go pointing a finger at Mr. Ireton, point the finger at that "waste of sperm" former Mayor Barrie Tilghman as she takes full responsibility, remember! Mrs. 99.9% Compliant with the MDE.

NO ONE seems to be responsible for this massive financial loss and I even stated to Mr. Ireton, considering the past problems with finances in the City where the former Mayor urged paying off developer reimbursements ahead of schedule and so forth, how could this happen. Mr. Ireton stated he wasn't going to start pointing fingers at anyone and went on to say, you're not going to get me to do so Joe.

At one point he started using an example to Greg Latshaw saying, well Greg, if you buy a new car and the air conditioner doesn't work, what do you do. Greg replied, bring it back to the Dealer. Ireton said, that's what we're going to do here. Sorry Mayor but this isn't a new car and at least the Car Manufacturer and Dealer CAN repair the A/C on the car. So I said, wait a minute Jim. The Taxpayers put up $84,000,000.00 for this "vehicle" and all Greg drove away with was a Ford Pinto. When is he going to get his $84,000,000.00 vehicle, when is he going to get his HUMMER? Mr. Ireton cracked up laughing and took a minute to compose himself. The long and short of it is, the Taxpayers are screwed.

Someone continued to sign off on paying out the Contractors and Engineers, (HOW CONVENIENT) and NO ONE will point a finger stating who was responsible. IMHO Folks, you deserve better answers than that and if I were you, I'd demand someone be accountable, even if it means pressing criminal charges against the former Mayor Barrie Tilghman. The buck stopped at her Office and ultimately she is responsible. This is more than likely the very key reason she did not run for Office again as they knew years ago this system wouldn't work this far North.

I tried explaining to Mr. Ireton that this particular system was designed to work further South of here and he said, I can't tell you what they do in Pocomoke. I interrupted him and said, No Mayor, South as in Florida, Georgia, where the water temperatures are MUCH HIGHER than Maryland, who convinced the former Mayor this system would work this far North, there was no reply.

Now Get This! Mayor Ireton wants YOU the Citizens to start being more environmentally friends by using BETTER cleaning products. He wants you to wipe out pots and pans with paper towels and get rid of the grease and HELP the new system. He stated that they had to turn OFF 1/2 of the system to make it work more efficiently in the mean time but there's been no sewage spills, so it's working. Dee, Dee, Deeee! For $84,000,000.00 the GD System better be working. But is it? NO!

You just spent $84,000,000.00 on a new system, they cut off 50% of the system and they want YOU to stop putting grease down the drains. Excuse me but let me tell you something. After you just spent $84,000,000.00 you better damn site be able to throw all the grease you want down the drains and you better be able to double the volume of houses on the system and it better work for everyone, especially after they keep raising your water and sewer rates and only use 1/2 of what's supposed to be offered!

Look, I could go on and on about this. The bottom line is, you're screwed, plain and simple. Former Mayor Tilghman screwed each and every one of you taxpayers and stood there and looked all of us in the eyes and said they were 99.9% compliant with the MDE. I would demand ANSWERS, all of which Mayor Ireton was completely unwilling to offer today and quite frankly I'll probably enjoy the article in tomorrow's Daily Times because they too walked away thinking, he wouldn't give any answers. Something Mr. Wilber probably put him up to. Nevertheless, with new rates in place and the rates surely to go up again, you should demand answers and demand Gary Comegys be accountable for this project as well. He's still on Council and some how, some way, people were paid money and in the end you have less from the brand new WWTP than you had before the project ever started. In other words, the old system was working better than this one!

Delaware Moves Up To The Top Ten Of Bicycle Friendly States

Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) has selected Delaware as the ninth most bicycle friendly state in the nation. Delaware has moved from #31 to #9 in one year.

LAB's Bicycle Friendly State program ranks all 50 states based upon support for bicycling. A Bicycle Friendly State provides safe accommodations for cycling and encourages its residents to bike for transportation and recreation.

"It is good to see that more Delawareans are getting out of their cars and onto their bikes," said Gov. Jack Markell, who has ridden the length of Delaware three times with family and friends since 2006 and plans to do so again later this year. "The more people who bike or walk instead of drive are mitigating climate change, traffic congestion, health problems, and fuel costs. I look forward to working with the Department of Transportation to make Delaware even more friendly to cyclists."

"DelDOT staff, the Delaware Bicycle Council, cycling groups, alternative transportation groups, and planning organizations are working very hard to promote smart transportation," Transportation Secretary Carolann Wicks, P.E. said. "We will continue to look at incorporating bike friendly design into infrastructure but we know utilizing alternative transportation is most often a lifestyle choice. I hope people will continue to choose cycling, transit, and trains to get to their destinations."

The Bicycle Friendly State program is revolutionizing the way states evaluate their quality of life, sustainability and transportation networks, while allowing them to benchmark their progress and work toward improving their bicycle friendliness. The rankings are used to create momentum amongst states and communities to continue to become more bicycle friendly.

"The League's Bicycle Friendly State review committee was awed with Delaware's potential and growing commitment to make this a great place for bicyclists," DelDOT Bicycle Coordinator Anthony Aglio said. "The honorable mention given by the reviewers reflects their view that some of the key building blocks of developing a bicycle friendly state are in place but that some actions remain to be completed. Reviewers were impressed with the recent Executive Order requiring Complete Streets legislation; and encouragement efforts from the first state bike summit to the Wilmington Grand Prix and non-motorized transportation staff in each planning organization."

The Bicycle Friendly State program has two parts that rank and recognize states that actively support bicycling. First, states are ranked annually based on their level of bike friendliness. Secondly, states that wish to apply for a Bicycle Friendly State award designation can receive further recognition and promotion of their efforts as well as feedback, technical assistance, training and further encouragement to improve their bicycling legislation, projects, and programs.

Delaware is the highest placing state in the Mid-Atlantic. Nationally, from first to 10th respectively are Washington, Wisconsin, Maine, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, Arizona, New Hampshire, Delaware, and New Jersey. Furthermore, Delaware received one of only two honorable mentions for the Bicycle Friendly State award, of which only four states won full designation. DelDOT is striving to achieve full designation, and an honorable mention is a good indication of its future attainment.

This is the second annual ranking from LAB, based in Washington, DC. States were scored based upon a 75-item questionnaire that covers six key areas: legislation, policies and programs, infrastructure, education and encouragement, evaluation and planning, and enforcement. Delaware's best scores were in the evaluation and planning, infrastructure, and legislation categories. The League of American Bicyclists promotes bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation, and works through advocacy and education for a bicycle-friendly America.

THE CAN FROM CHINA

I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT THE COUNTRY MARKET. ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID FROM CHINA. FOR EXAMPLE THE" OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN FROM CHINA I WAS SHOCKED!! SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE IS FROM CA.

IT TAKES FOREVER JUST TO BUY FOOD AND DO LABEL READING!

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear---or---is it that we just do not think?

While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors.

Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says ''Made in China'' or ''PRC'' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh

The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and
lawlessness were worth it.

Chinese Eye Test

If you cannot decipher anything, then try pulling the corner of your eyes as if you were Chinese. It works.

This Is One Way To Bring The Theaters Back To Downtown Salisbury

While two Theaters have been torn down in Downtown Salisbury, Urban Salisbury brought life back to the Downtown Plaza by bringing a Harry Potter Movie shown on an exterior Theater Screen in a Parking Lot behind Parker Place.

Quite a few people showed up to enjoy the Movie. Some had never seen a Harry Potter Movie and wondered if they'd be able to catch on but I don't think they would find it any less entertaining.

Great Work Urban Salisbury!

1 Dead At Pamplona; First Goring Death Since '95

PAMPLONA, Spain – A charging bull gored a young Spanish man to death Friday at Pamplona's San Fermin festival, the first such fatality in nearly 15 years. Nine others were injured in a particularly dangerous and chaotic chapter of the running of the bulls.

Pamplona officials identified the man as Daniel Jimeno Romero, 27, from Alcala de Henares, outside Madrid. He was on vacation with his parents and girlfriend, who identified him.

The San Fermin festival Web site said Jimeno Romero was gored in the neck and lung during a run in which a rogue bull named Capuchino separated from the pack, which is among the worst things that can happen at Spain's most popular fiesta.

Isolated bulls are more likely to get disoriented and start charging at people.

Photographs showed Jimeno Romero lying on a stretcher moments after the goring, his face and neck stained with blood and his eyes only half-open. An emergency medical worker was leaning over him, applying what appeared to be gauze to his neck wound.

Amateur video broadcast by Spanish TV station Cuatro showed Jimeno Romero trotting backwards, facing the oncoming bull, when he trips over other runners and goes down. The Spaniard then tries to squeeze feet-first under a wooden fence serving as a protective barrier, when the bull comes up and gores him in the neck with its right horn. Jimeno Romero instantly bled profusely, lying face up as medics tried to save him.

Nick Coleman: Searching For Grace At Norm's Place

After 238 days of cheap shots, let's try to disagree without being disagreeable.

By NICK COLEMAN, Star Tribune

Norm Coleman was in his back yard, making a gracious but belated concession and bringing an end to one of the ugliest chapters in Minnesota campaign history. So it seemed fitting that, at that moment, an international expert in conflict resolution named Brian Polkinghorn should chance to walk past on the sidewalk, pushing a baby stroller.

I love St. Paul: You try to chat with a guy walking on the sidewalk and he turns out to be a Fulbright scholar and executive director of the Center for Conflict Resolution at Salisbury University in Maryland who has been involved in peace work in Croatia, Israel, Ireland and Nepal, and who may even have words of wisdom for Minnesotans bruised and battered by unprecedented levels of partisan conflict and irresponsible rhetoric.

Former Sen. Coleman (no relation of mine) scored a lot of feel-good points for his gentlemanly withdrawal Tuesday, but let's get real: His "gracious" exit came after 238 days of haymakers and head-butting and had all the voluntary grace of a boxer who staggers to his feet after he has been counted out and says, groggily, "OK, I give up."

Norm was repeatedly knocked out by decisions so conclusive that he was left with no hope that he could carry his challenge to the federal courts without making himself a laughingstock and damaging any delusions he has of still seeking high office in a state where he has now lost to a wrestler (Jesse Ventura) and a comedian (Al Franken).

Despite all the relieved compliments tossed Norm's way after his concession speech, enormous damage has been done to Minnesota's good name by his relentless challenge of reality -- by his loose-lipped lawyers, his angry supporters and, most cynically, by the legions of right-wing talking heads who slandered the state and its politics in trying to paint Norm Coleman as a martyr.

So, along with all his gracious sentiments on Tuesday, it might have been refreshing to hear two more words from Norm Coleman: "I'm sorry."

STATE ATTORNEY DAVIS RUARK TRIUMPHS IN ANITRA PIRKLE MURDER CASE

I attended the three day trial of Kenneth Alvira, one of three people accused in the murder case of Anitra Pirkle, the Salisbury young lady whom on Jan 22 2009 was carjacked, stabbed and left in a field in Delmar to later die. As I followed this case I later found out states attorney Davis Ruark would be the prosecuting attorney. As I entered the court room I saw community members and family members of the victim and family members of the accused and reporters, and guards. I thought to myself "this case is going to be big". I found a seat near a huge window where the sun was streaming through, bringing warmth to an otherwise cold and gloomy atmosphere. As the accused and his attorneys entered the courtroom whispers rippled through the air " look !! that must be him". Attorney Ruark entered the courtroom. He was impeccably dressed and carrying a briefcase filled with an enormous amount of documentation... His assistant attorney Jaimie Lynn Dykes a strikingly beautiful young woman was by his side. They were like soldiers poised and ready for battle.

We stood as the judge entered the courtroom. The jurors filed in one after the other, looking like they purposely tried not to make eye contact with anyone in the room.. I looked at each one never realizing that the testimony that we were about to hear and the things we were about to see would change our lives forever. Ruark had done his homework on this case. Direct evidence and eye witness testimony linking Alvira to the crime. Seemingly endless testimony, each more gruesome than the last. The courtroom "gasped " when the murder weapon was shown. I felt like I couldn't take another breath. Who could be that cruel and heartless to use something like that to kill someone.. Before and after photos of a tiny young woman who had not only been stabbed but mutilated, tortured and gutted like an animal.

Doctors testimony indicated she died a slow and painful merciless death.. I nor the jury members could hold back our tears. Some could not even look at the pictures. Alvira through a taped confession told of Anitra's begging for her life to be spared. Her mother who was now hearing the horrible details about her daughters death for the first time was inconsolable. Kenneth Alvira sat emotionless the entire time. As I glanced over at him I realized I was seeing a monster for the first time in my life. Ruark knew this case wasn't just about Anitra but about the safety and well being of an entire community. He had to win. Not only was this murder senseless and brutal but it was random.. It could have been any one of us.. It had been earlier reported that Anitra Pirkle had offered the suspects a ride but eye witness testimony proved the three accused murderers simultaneously entered Anitra's car by force.. Forcing her to drive down a dark lonely road and dragging her from her car and brutally stabbing her.

On the third day of the trial state attorney Davis Ruark gave his closing arguments. He was focused, deliberate, calm and articulate and the jury was spellbound by his compassion in this case and his amazing knowledge of the law.. By now he was my hero. The jury deliberated on this case and found Kenneth Alvira guilty on all 11 counts.. This case will be continued with the trial of the other two suspects Briana Brinkley and Brittany Barkley in Aug and Sept 2009..

The Pirkle Family

After Years Of Concerns, This Deer Still Remains At The Salisbury Zoo

"Joe,

I was just at the zoo this evening. Thought you would like to know the deer with the diseased antlers is still there."

Three Years Ago Today

It was three years ago today the obsessed Jim Rapp and Zoo Staff called the Police on me once again for visiting the Zoo and taking pictures. Rapp tried to claim I assaulted him after he ran up to me, (I was standing still) and didn't stop fast enough and bumped into my camera. (I have the entire thing on video, including the audio).

CODE 4, CODE 4, they yelled out over their radios, ROTFLMAO. In depositions each Zoo Employee was asked what "CODE 4" meant and every one of them said, I don't know. CODE 4 meant Joe Albero was in the Zoo. They considered this one of their Emergency Codes, most of which include getting out the Zoo's Shotgun. The Good Old Days!

A Letter To The Editor

Joe,

I have a concern that I feel should be addressed. During the summer months
we concentrate most of our attention to the usage of crosswalks by pedestrians
in Ocean City. Shouldn't we address the same amount of concern here in
Salisbury? Ever since the origination of the Shore Transit, I have been involved
in several "near misses" at the bus stop near the intersection of Main St. and
Rt. 13. Pedestrians are constantly playing a dangerous game of tag with daily
commuters and so far I have yet to see ANY police involvement.

Now I have noticed a new dangerous situation, PRMC. Wednesday morning at
approximately 8:30am I had to brake abruptly TWICE in the same block, dodging
employees crossing Rt. 13 between Carroll St. and Vine St. You would think that
these would be the last people to not only violate the law, but take this
dangerous risk. These are people that see first hand the dangers of "jay
walking" by treating patients struck by vehicles. Now, I don't know about anyone
else, but if I saw, on a daily basis, people coming in to my office severely
injured and watch some die, I would take that into strong consideration before I
would cross a major highway especially during rush hour.

I know there is no actual crosswalk at the Vine St. intersection, but there
is no reason why the employees cannot at least cross at that intersection with
light. There are some 50 to 100 vehicles in that parking lot for the employees
of the hospital. It really bothers me to think that there are that many people,
who know first hand the dangers, making this irresponsible decision. I'm sure
that not all of the employees are doing this, but so far I have yet to see
ANYONE crossing this road properly. To all those involved, please make the right
decision and be careful. Thank you.

Gun Control By Larry The Cable Guy

I don't care who you are, this is funny....Larry

Gun Control

Barack Obama at a recent rural elementary school assembly in East Texas, asked the audience for total quiet. Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands once every few seconds, holding the audience in total silence.

Then he said into the microphone, 'Children, every time I clap my hands together, a child in America dies from gun violence.'

Then, little Richard Earl, with a proud East Texas drawl, pierced the quiet and said: ''Well, dumbass, stop clapping!'

Obama And Kadhafi Shake Hands

L'AQUILA, Italy (AFP) – US President Barack Obama shook hands warmly on Thursday with Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, long reviled in Washington.

The landmark handshake took place as leaders from major economic powers and emerging nations prepared to take a group photo at a summit in L'Aquila, central Italy.

Relations between Libya and the United States have repeatedly see-sawed over the past 30 years. Diplomatic relations were broken in 1981 and only restored in 2004 after Libya renounced its quest for weapons of mass destruction.

However, relations remain strained mainly over compensation for terrorism victims in the 1980s.

The dispute was put to rest at the end of 2008 when Libya gave 1.5 billion dollars in compensation to US victims of the Lockerbie attack, which caused 270 deaths in 1988, and an attack on a Berlin nightclub where US soldier used to go. Three were killed in that attack.

Woman Jailed After Man Complains About Her Cooking

NAPLES, Fla. – A southwest Florida woman was arrested after deputies said she assaulted her 71-year-old common-law husband after he complained about her cooking. A Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest report shows 66-year-old Meredith Hart Mulcahy was charged with battery on an elderly person Tuesday night.

Deputies said the man got into an argument with her about undercooked potatoes and burnt bread. He went to the bedroom and began eating, and authorities said the woman then threw a phone at him.

Deputies said Mulcahy became belligerent in the back seat of the patrol car and told them that she "burned the bread she was cooking because she was so intoxicated." She was in the Lee County Jail on Wednesday pending a $1,500 bond.

A Wake-Up Call

The response:

Regarding 'A wake-up call from Luke's jets'

On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m . , a perfectly timed four- ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day.

At 9 a.m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer's recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son's flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured.

A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.

The letter writer asks, 'Whom do we thank for the morning airshow? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.

Only 2 defining forces have ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Lt. Col. Grant L. Rosensteel, Jr.

NOTE: This was not the author of the letter.

The letter writer was: Lt. Col. Scott Pleus, USAF.

Also, when the original writer of the noise complaint learned what the
flyby was for, he wrote an apology that was published, also in the AZ
Republic

Believe

Birth Certificate shows that we were born.

A Death Certificate shows that we died.

Pictures show that we lived!

Have a seat . . . Relax . .. . And read this slowly.

I Believe...

That just because two people argue,

it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do love each other..

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if
we understand that friends change.

I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over
the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them..

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what we do

no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing

and have the best time.

I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,

but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of

experiences you've had and what you've learned from them

and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others..

sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe....
That no matter how bad your heart is broken

the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have

influenced who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find
out a secret. It could change your life Forever. < /B>

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give,

when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

I Believe...
That you should send this to all of the people that you believe in,

I just did.

I Believe.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything.'
