I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT THE COUNTRY MARKET. ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID FROM CHINA. FOR EXAMPLE THE" OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN FROM CHINA I WAS SHOCKED!! SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE IS FROM CA.
IT TAKES FOREVER JUST TO BUY FOOD AND DO LABEL READING!
Are we Americans as dumb as we appear---or---is it that we just do not think?
While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors.
Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.
Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?
SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!
Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says ''Made in China'' or ''PRC'' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.
Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.
THINK ABOUT THIS If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!
The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh
The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and
lawlessness were worth it.
Last Christmas I went toy shopping for the boys with the sole purpose of getting them toys that were NOT made in China. Try it sometime.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact, start paying attention to where all the things you buy are made. You'll be amazed. And you won't be wondering anymore why our economy is in the toilet.
Thanks labor unions!
Here's my thought. It's more than you saying this but it's not getting to the majority of america, or it's like people are all for it til they get done reading then it's back to normal ways. We have alot of dependants in america.
ReplyDeleteI will have to start looking at food now. I guess we all just assume canned food is made in the USA. I know I will only buy produce that is made in the USA and also socks and undies you have to watch. There are some brands that have some packages made in the USA and others from the same company that are not. I will pay the few pennies more for the MADE IN THE USA product.
ReplyDeleteYour talking to 80,000,000 tatooed,
ReplyDeletenose ringed , eye ringed and just don't give a crap anymore people.
They don't understand , they don't care and they don't listen to anyone. China is the last thing on their tiny minds. They have been brain washed by the Obama admin.
and the MSM. I will not by anything from china!
Mandarin oranges from China? Mandarin? From China? Who would have thought. What will they sell next? Chopsticks? Rice paper? Why can't they stop selling cheap copies of American products. Complaining about Mandarin oranges being from China. Priceless.
ReplyDeletemy toilet was made there too
ReplyDeleteI commented about it being funny that someone complained about buying mandarin oranges from china. You should know I'm not against you or your blog. I check it most days for news and items like the train tornado video. I do bust stupidity and nitpicking when I see it, though. Like complaining about headlines saying how a little league team was whipped. Don't you think a bigger problem is having a 10 run SLAUGHTER rule, than a headline no 9 or 10 year old will ever read? I know you have an agenda, but the nitpicky stuff blows your credibility. Fight for what needs to be fought for, is all I'm saying. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHey, you should check out Boscov's. I don't think they sell anything that doesn't come from China.
ReplyDeleteGood analogy Joe! We all must be careful not to buy products from China. In fact we aught to be very careful buying vegetables and fruit. Much of it comes from other countries who do not have regulations on what you can and cannot spray on the product as it grows. You want to get good and sick, eat some grapes from Costa Rico or from Mexico. Your right on Joe. We must be very careful what we buy these days, and we sure can boycot certain countries.
ReplyDeleteBest to boycot anything not made in America.
Canned mandarian oranges have been coming from China for at least 40 years, this isn't some take over the world agenda.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with Chinese fruit? It has plenty of glycol in it to prevent unintended freezing, and the lead it contains protects it against radiation when Iran tries to nuke us.
ReplyDeleteI have a store that sells "gifty" items as well as toys. It is very hard to find items made in the USA. I have looked and looked for affordable American made products. Unfortunately, toys and many items made in the USA become very expensive to purchase at wholesale price which as a result drives up the retail price. For example, I found a US toy company that makes their own toys. Wholesale price is $30 and their suggested retail price (SRP) $40 Typically, the SRP would be $55-$70 to gain a reasonable profit.
ReplyDeleteWant quality "stuff" made in the USA? You're gonna have to pay more for it.
Been doing this for some time, now. It isn't that hard. Just try not buying everything your kids want.
