U.S. Placed Under International Police-State

In the dead of night on December 17, 2009, President Barack Hussein Obama placed the United States of America under the authority of the international police organization known as INTERPOL, granting the organization full immunity to operate within the United States.

According to Threatswatch:

Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order "Amending Executive Order 12425." It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other "International Organizations" as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945. By removing language from President Reagan's 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates - now operates - on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

What, exactly does this mean? It means that INTERPOL now has the full authority to conduct investigations and other law enforcement activities on U.S. soil, with full immunity from U.S. laws such as the Freedom of Information Act and with complete independence from oversight from the FBI.

In short, a global law enforcement entity now has full law-enforcement authority in the U.S. without any check on its power afforded by U.S. law and U.S. law enforcement agencies.

Andy McCarthy at National Review asks these crucial, sobering questions of the secretive Obama order:

Why would we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media, and the American people to scrutinize?

  2. Reagan granted INTERPOL protections under the International Organizations Immunities Act, except for the following parts:

    * Section 2(c) - The property, assets, and records of an international organization covered under the IOIA cannot be seized by the government.
    * Section 3 - The personal effects of employees of the an organization covered under the IOIA can be imported free of duty or tax.
    * Section 4 - An organization covered under the IOIA is designated as non taxpaying organization.
    * Section 5 - Employees of an organization covered under the IOIA do not have to pay income tax.
    * Section 6 - Organizations covered under the IOIA do not have to pay Federal property taxes.

Obama removed exemptions that cover INTERPOL. Now they are treated just like almost every other international organization that operates in the US.

When the FBI operates in a foreign country, they have these same protections.

It's called reciprocity. USAID, the State Department, the OSC, overseas military bases, trade missions, they all have agreements in place with their host countries that grant these exact same protections to the organizations and their employees.

And what is people's problem with INTERPOL?

It's not a "law enforcement agency", it can't arrest people and it doesn't investigate crimes.

INTERPOL facilitates international cooperation BETWEEN police organizations. It is basically a message relay service, staffed by law enforcement experts. ALL THEY DO is keep records of international crimes, route messages to the appropriate local law enforcement agency, and foster cooperation between different agencies.

If you're going to bitch about Obama, bitch about something that matters, like him falling down on the public option.

Don't bitch about him making it easier to fight international crime.

  4. The destruction of our National Autonomy was begun well before Mr. Soreto took office.

Dubya' merged us into the North American Alliance with Canada and Mexico.

    Poor Canada.

  5. The corporations are global. The economy they have constructed is global. We have no immigration policy any longer. Anyone can come here and enjoy the fruits of our labor and the luxuries of our taxes.

We were taken down from within. The corporations own America and our politicians.

  6. 9:38 This man that you think is "making it easier to fight international crime", is the same man who in his latest speech regarding the incident on NWA, referred to the person responsible as the "alleged bomber". He also referred to the incident as an "isolated incident". Think about it. We had all the evidence in the world including the bomber's father's statement, that this person was one of interest and he was STILL allowed to board an airplane flying to the United States. What the hell? Then when he was caught with a bomb in his underwear, Obama refers to him as an "alleged bomber". Who is he defending? The people of America who he is sworn to protect or the radicals that he seems to align himself with?

  7. This is absolutely frightening. Although I didn't vote for Obama, I took a big girl pill and have done my best to understand him since he was elected. Needless to say that despite my efforts, I have been greatly disappointed with his first year in office.

  8. @10:00:

Aren't all criminals innocent until proven guilty in a court of law here in the United States? On every newscast they call every perpetrator of a crime the "alleged suspect".

I'm not defending any criminals, but that is how things are defined.

  10. Obama is trying his best to destroy this once great country. Unfortunately he just might succeed if the american public doesn't soon become outraged and revolt against this type of thing. It's truly a sad day in America and it seems a lot of folks either don't care are don't realize what is really going on.

  12. Obama does nothing. He has no power. His handlers on the other hand, are destroying America.

President Bush's handlers also destroyed America.

    They are the same people.

    Wake up

  13. All we have to do is make it to 2010 elections and by January 2011 impeachment hearings should begin or the Republicans will be out on their butts !

  14. I hate to say it, but this does look like a traitorous act. And I am sad. Sad for America, sad for hope, sad for believing that we might change what we've become. It pains to write this, but I fear we may have made a mistake with this prophet of change.

  15. Any sane person should have realized what type of person Obama was before the election. It was a fact that he was the most liberal senator in the senate, what else did people need to know? It sure appears that the liberals are determined to destroy this country anyway that they can.

  16. If this was such a benign executive order, why was it so secretly signed on Christmas Eve?
