The program will make a payment to eligible dairy farmers, based on their production and marketing for the months of February through July 2009. Funding for these one-time payments was included in the 2010 Agricultural Appropriations Bill.
“This is just a short-term band aid, but it is urgently needed at a time when dairy farms all across the country are facing bankruptcy,” said Rep. Kratovil. “I remain committed to working with dairy farmers and the USDA to implement long term solutions.”

Glad to see this. Many dairy farms are still owned by moms and pops.
ReplyDeleteIts about time there is support for the small dairy farmer. Land O Lake buys them all up and they become so corporate. This is refreshing.
