A Christmas Blessing To The Phillips Family In Fruitland
Dear Friends,
First and foremost, let us say from the bottom of our hearts how truly loved and blessed we have felt over these last several days. The response from friends, family, and the public has been nothing short of incredible, and we are grateful more than words can say. A situation that looked very grim has been met with kindness, caring, and generosity; and it has given us a Christmas we will never forget. Here is an update:
As of Thursday morning a brand new stove will be delivered to the house, thanks to an anonymous donor.
As of this past Tuesday, new tires have been put on Tom's truck.
Food donations have been coming in from local churches and private donors, to the point where this need has been met. Many frozen foods and canned goods have been donated, and people have even given of their own prepared food. This has truly been a humbling and incredibly heartwarming show of generosity.
It also appears that we will have assistance in fixing Dustins teeth. He still needs 4 teeth pulled and then braces after that. This assistance is needed and will be a great help.
Gift cards from local businesses and grocery stores have been given and this is helping and will continue to help in easing the burden of monthly food and living expenses for the family.
Monetary donations have enabled us to bring our mortgage payments back from the brink of foreclosure. We have been able to pay October and November's mortgage payments, but we are still not sure what the future holds. We are awaiting a meeting on January 21 to see if our mortgage company will offer us a lower monthly payment, or choose to foreclose. We want to stay in our home but a long term modification is needed for us to afford living here.We need prayer about this situation.
In summary, we are trying to say that things have definitely improved. We are still concerned about losing our home, and there are still repairs needed to the heat pump, vehicles, and house, but at least now we feel there is reason for optimism. Real optimism.
THANK YOU doesn't seem like strong enough words for us to say, but we do thank you and we mean it. We mean it sincerely.
We pray that God will bless each and every one of you with a wonderful Christmas, and a healthy, prosperous New Year.
Thanks Again So Much,
Tom,Beth, Dustin, and Jana Phillips
I am thrilled that our community is able to help a family in need. It's definitly a great Christmas treat and defintly in the spirit of giving. What other house repairs are needed? I have a 5gallon bucket of primer and 5 gallon bucket of paint that I can donate.
ReplyDeleteThey should post the repairs that are needed. There are alot of out of work skilled people that would be glad to help them. Most just want to get out of the house and do something.
ReplyDeletePhillips family, thank you for sharing this inspiring mesage about the generosity of the community...friends, neighbors, friends and strangers. Reading this is a very special Christmas gift.
ReplyDeleteI am worried about your ability to stay in your home and encourage you to contact the Maryland Dept. of Housing & Community Development to see if they have a mortgage modification product that might work for you.
Merry Christmas to all...
I have contacted someone about offering help with their heat pump situation. I have not heard anything from the Phillips yet but if they need our help- it's on the table.
ReplyDeleteWow, Look what's been accomplished! And, mostly I would imagine because the "need" was posted on here ! Great of you to reach out to get the community involved Joe. EW
ReplyDeleteI love the black Jesus praying hands.
ReplyDeleteI agree...please let us know what we can do! Beth, I got your card the other day and you have a true faith in God! Your family has had hardship after hardship but yet you hold your head up and pray on!!!! God has people eager to serve, show them where!
