  3. anonymous 8:23, NO, the guy with the yellow tie is at his lovely home 30+ miles away from Salisbury with his Wife. They are sitting comfortably in their home with no fear or understanding what real crime is all about. Why do you think he moved there anyway.

  8. Every motel and convenience store needs to be given the exploding dye packets to put in the money. Are they small enough to be easily concealed in the wad of loot?

  9. 8:29,
I hope Santa brings you a clue for Christmas, because you don't know what you're talking about. Then again, hopefully detectives get a clue on this one too.

  10. Wrong, 8:31.
    Illegals often pay CASH.
On a recent trip, I saw a BIG pile of cash on the hotel clerk's desk in the office the morning I checked out-- she was counting it. The hotel was full of illegals (in Roanoke).
The thief may be hitting the ones where they often stay.
I don't know how many stay in the hotels in OC, but maybe Chiefy can keep his eyes open over there. He sure isn't much help here.

  11. Anonymous 8:48, how about a gun to shoot back! When are the citizens of Salisbury going to fight back against these slugs?

  12. If they try to rob my business, may God have mercy on their soul!! I will kill them all and let God sort them out!!

  13. Every citizen should know that they have a right to carry a loaded firearm while in their place of business. It must be unloaded on the way to and from your store or office but when you get there you can load it and carry it in a holster out in the open if you wish. Now go learn how to use it properly and CARRY IT while in your store.

  15. Pathetic, absolutely 100% pathetic. The SPD detectives have to be stressed out with all these unsolved armed robberies. Where are all these supposed citizens who "love" the shore and think its the greatest place to live? If you feel as strongly as you do, now is the time to put your money where your mouth is. 4 armed robberies in any other city in this country would have a community up in arms for change. I'd bet the Daily Times has little to no coverage. I was shocked that WBOC had any coverage about the newest armed robberies. I guess the 50 seconds they mentioned it for this morning was considered coverage. Yet the countless times they've covered the farmers soybean issues with the rain or that the high temp will in the 40s(it is winter)is far more of a pressing story. Peoples lives are effected by this crime and they report the same thing everyday and very seldom is the local crime even mentioned or covered well. This is the standard locally here, how incredibly pathetic. Welcome to the shore, where living in ignorance is truly the standard.

Just pick a place and rob it.

  19. 5:24. I'm pretty sure the word is out.

Hey Joe, how many robberies at local businesses has there been this year? I'd bet 50+ at least. How bout a special report about the solved robberies vs the unsolved. If ppl think this crime is acceptable then all the crime that has occurred should be solved, right?

  20. anonymous 8:17, no one out there thinks the level of crime out there is acceptable, unless you're nuts.

Look, while I can appreciate your request, perhaps many of you don't realize just how busy my schedule is each and every day. I can't take the time to go out and do reports upon request simply to find out exactly how many robberies there have been this year. That being said, my answer is, too many.
