Wicomico Yacht Club Christmas Boat Parade
The Wicomico Yacht Club Christmas Boat Parade will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009. The fleet will depart the yacht club docks in Allen, MD at approximately 4:30PM and will proceed up river towards Salisbury.
The public will be able to view the parade at anyplace along the river from the Wicomico Creek to downtown Salisbury. The decorated fleet should pass upper ferry just past 5:30PM and arrive in downtown Salsibury at approximately 6:30PM. The parade will immediately reverse direction and proceed back down the river to the Wicomico Yacht Club. This gives spectators two opportunities to view the parade. The Wicomico Yacht Club Christmas Boat Parade will be held regardless of weather. For Additional information please contact Laura Lockwood, 410-742-2258 or Scott McCurdy 410-430-2282.

I LOVE to watch that boat parade and so do my grandchildren!! It is a family tradition of ours and we hope that they continue it for a long, long time. The kids really get a kick out of seeing the lights and hearing the boat horns. Free entertainment is nice every once and awhile and we thank the Wicomico Yacht Club for keeping up the tradition even though it costs you guys a lot for the fuel. We truly appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteI'll be along the river somewhere watching - I love this parade.
ReplyDeleteGreat start of the Holidays, Haven't missed it for years
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone really watch the thing ? Is there any tax payer money wasted on it ?

ReplyDeleteThe Wicomico Yacht Club is a private club. All expenses for the boat parade are paid by the boat owners...and yes a lot of people watch it! Why is there always some negative person trying to bad mouth something that they don't have a clue about!
What a waste.
ReplyDeleteBecause they are the Badmouthers Without Clues!
ReplyDelete...nor common sense!
My son and daughter loved this last year and we will be there for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteSeems like something fun to do. Where is the best place to watch this, or maybe I should say where is a SAFE place to watch this?
ReplyDeleteMr. Fykes, I hope you see this! I work for a Chief (strong hint there LOL) that I know spoke to Joe a few weeks back inquiring about you and yours. If you send Joe your contact info. I bet it will be worth your while.
ReplyDeleteWe love the Boat Parade. I call it my Fourth of July in the winter. It's beautiful. We usually try to get friends and family over to watch. Thank you so much for all of your hard work ! We'll be out there cheering you on.
