Target's Reality Vortex Expands To Walgreens

Stephanie sent us this photo from her local Walgreens. Have they been taking lessons in pricing from Target? Sure, MSRP is is merely a suggestion, but this is a rather obvious case.

  1. They'll be on sale for $1.09 next week...lol

  2. Frito Lay Corporation allows for a very narrow margin on the products. The retailer cannot afford to continue to honor Frito Lays' prepriced rate.

  3. What? The retailer's profit margin is in the 99 cent price. They cannot just bump the price like that.
If Frito Lay says "our product is to sell at X,", the retailer is not authorized to change that.

I'll give you another one too....some convenience stores (Winterplace Market and some others) have chips priced at 2/$5.00 or whatever the current sale is. The problem is, in order to get this price, you MUST buy TWO.
Go to Food Lion and buy ONE and they'll give it to you 1/2 price.
I don't necessarily want to buy TWO bags!
I think this is wrong too, so thanks Food Lion!

  4. Thats why I shop at Walmart. They usually have a pre priced bag at $1.29 for .99 not the other way around.

  5. If I'm not mistaken, and maybe I am, I believe you can force them to give you the lower price because there is a little unknown rule or law that the retailer must give you the lowest price reflected.
Another little known law in Maryland is that if you buy something and it goes on sale for a lower price within 30 days, you can go to the store with your receipt and they have to give you back the difference.

  6. I thought the retailer can sell items for whatever they want, with the exception of items with a price printed on the packaging during manufacturing.
Ive seen this with the old 25cent packs of gum they just slap a tag right over the price.

  7. There is absolutely nothing in that bag that will give you any nutrition. Just don't buy it.

  8. That's what the round stickers are for! Re- priced @ !.29!

  9. They're not stickers. They are a pre-printed price right on the bad by Frito Lay.
