Joe,
I find it amazing that the President of the Pittsville Town Commissioners, (equivalent to a Mayor) Denver Moore got caught speeding in his own town after all the complaining he does to the sheriff's office about speeders.
Yes, he has complained at several town meetings about speeders through Pittsville and he gets caught doing 74mph in a posted 30 mph zone. That's 44 miles per hour OVER the posted speed! 1 1/2 times the posted speed limit! WOW! I'll bet it will be a long time before he complains about speeders again. $530.00 fine and five points!
Check this out!

When will politicians stop thinking they are better than everyone else.
Concerned Citizen.
Most of the people that call in speeding complaints to the WCSO and MSP end up getting stopped themselves. Most of the time they say, I'm the one that called in the complaint. They also are complaining about people other then the residents and think they should be exempt.
ReplyDeletei think that is a trip. Moral of the story. Be careful what you wish for!
ReplyDeletePittsville is going down the tubes very fast...even the car dealer who used to be known for good isn't any more. Diner, sucks.
ReplyDeleteOnly good thing left there is the Station Restaurant. And that's sometimes spotty service.

ReplyDeleteMaybe you should move to Salisbury. I hear they have control on their crime there lol
The link does not work.
ReplyDeleteThe person with the first comment took the words right out of my mouth. It usually happens that way and I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's because of their merger with Preston.....bad move in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteNow they have to do whatever Preston tells them to do.
Nobody talks about THOSE mom & pop operations getting swallowed up though.
Hey Joe, I couldn't get the link to work
ReplyDeleteDidnt you know?Rules dont apply to them!

Tell me about the car dealer? What's up with that?
The Bounds family sold the dealership to Preston a while back, Donald and Jodi were the only two left and now Jodi is gone and I am not so sure that Donald is not gone as well, Preston will not get as much business there now that both are gone. They are the only reason I bought my new SUV from them back in October of last year, I can't say I will be returning there now that they are gone.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes the Pittsville Diner sucks, I am not sure why people still go there mostly old folks whose taste buds must be gone.
The dealership in Pittsville is just fine. It's still a Mom and Pop in my opinion. I went to a lot of dealerships and ended up buying there because the sales guy had a great attitude. The diner is a diner, not a 4-star restaurant. You d@mn people will complain about anything on here.
ReplyDeleteThere is another car dealership in Pittsville, how do we know which one the commenter is talking about?
ReplyDeleteI wished I lived in Pittsville! It's a nice little town with a good school and very little crime!
I have bought my last two work vehicles at Pittsville, and was just there for service. The sales and service guys are the same folks. Yes, it is a little different atmosphere, but they still take good care of you. I don't think you can do any better on Delmarva. As far as Denver, I don't know why he was speeding, but maybe there was something urgent going on. I do know that he has gone out of the way to help many people in Pittsville (and most people will never know about it, he is that kind of person).

Wow lots of info on him on case search. Seems he got stopped 10 days before and didn't have his license. I wonder what he was stopped for then. He also doesn't like to pay doctors bills. This is the person they elected for President in Pittsville?
ReplyDeleteThe dealership everyone is speaking of here is called Pittsville Ford. It use to be called Pittsville Motors.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why you would want to mess with a good thing.
I can tell you that if Preton changes too much about Pittsville Ford they will certainly see it in their business there.
People go there because the Bounds family has a good reputation along with most of the folks who work there. I am not sure why Jody, Donald's daughter is no longer there, but I can tell you that I am not treated quite the same as I was before they sold out. I now have to sign paperwork that I never had to sign before. There is something to be said for being treated like family. If this changes, I feel that Pittsville Moters is in jeopardy.
I believe that guy I have seen there is named HG Wilson. He does not even speak when I go in there. If he had any clue how much money my family has spent there he would make it a point to at least speak when I come in.
You would think he would have a clue who people are by now. Maybe he is just not that brite.
Funny thing is that Denver Moore called a Captain Elliot at the Sheriff's Office and tried to have the speeding ticket "taken care of". The Captain apparently told him to take it to court. Is this what the people of Pittsville want in a Mayor?
ReplyDeletePittsville Motors has changed over the years, and selling out to Preston a couple of years ago was a big change. When they took it over it was bound to change, and some were for the better and some not so much. I must say, however, that I've also spent a ton of money there over the years, as have most of my family. The last couple of trucks we bought we dealt with Mr. Wilson, and found him to be extremely professional and very personable. Donald Bounds, who we've always had to work with, says that H.G. was one of the best things Preston sent over to them. Mr. Bounds was still there last week when we had service, by the way.
ReplyDeleteNow, when you're pulling out of there you should be careful of the speeding cars on Old Ocean City Rd., and if you're one speeding you should watch for the troopers with radar.

ReplyDeleteMost people are like that when they were given everything with that silver spoon!
Maybe now he'll take up skateboarding, he could fix that ticket quick!
7:02
ReplyDeleteIf that is the case and the officer doesn't show up is the case dropped? If so that's BS. 43 miles over the speed limit he needs to have the points and fine and not just be let go.
sorry for denvers speeding , he has treated me fair evertime i have needed info and went out of his way to help.i hope with all his health problems he does not step down and the now so called vice prez gets his slot because if so the town is doomed because he is lost in space.as far as pittsville motors i am glad to walk thru the door and not see jodis snotty ass.maybe the service manager will follow her path soon too.
ReplyDeleteI'd bet it was a state trooper that pulled him, the sheriffs deputies sit behind the firehouse all the time, I don’t know what they’re doing but they’re not checking traffic!
ReplyDelete[Edit]…Oops, I apologize Officer Welch, I hadn’t read the case info, and by luck or Joe’s hand my post didn’t go through; good job!
School buses go by as a yellow blur in the afternoon, there’s no way there are going 30 mph!
“To the one responsible for Denver’s ticket;” Sit behind the firehouse facing west with your radar at 2:55pm; you won’t be disappointed!
What about the trucks that deliver to the station 7 restaurant, there’s signs clearly posted on both ends of Main Street “no more than two axles”, yeah right! Take down the signs if you won’t enforce it!
The firemen, have they ever been asked if they’re really going to a fire? I think not!
I would like to thank Officer Welch for pulling Denver, and I hope you’ll spend more time in the area, think of it as giving the people a driver’s education course, just a bit more expensive!
Silence Dogood
Pittsville is a nice small town on the surface but they have an undesirable element there that is unseen by most.
ReplyDeleteIf the case is in room 1, the judge will say that the cop is lying, and let him off, just like every other day in court.
ReplyDeletewatch for a gray chevrolet 4+4, a ole loud ass mid eighties ford 4+4 and a gold dodge dakota which sounds like a bumble bee on steriods near the firehouse !both of these kids must have got there license from a box of cheerios, but there jr foremen so its ok to haul ass 24/7.
ReplyDeleteI never met Denver Moore but I heard he needs to come out of the closet.
ReplyDeleteI thought doubling the speed limit in maryland was an automatic go to jail card, until you see the judge and explain to him why you whould continue to have a license!
ReplyDeleteIf so why didn't this happen?
i have eaten at the pittsville diner many times great food at a great price the owner is always there with a smile on his face and a warm hello try it i think you would like it
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that you people spent so much time and energy criticizing private businesses when the topic was an elected official breaking the law in such a blatant fashion. Keep on topic people. Otherwise it's just another tabloid full of non-facts.
ReplyDeleteWOW !!
ReplyDeleteTwo shockers here !!
Who wrote the ticket.
Who got caught.
Hmmmmmmm.
Got to be more to this story.
Denver Moore always thought he was better than any body. I am glad he finally is being treated like everyone else. I moved out of Pittsville because I didn't want to be associated with him or his kind.
ReplyDeleteall of you who are making comments must have never done any thing wrong. all of you should think about yourself, maybe all of you should go to church and talk to god maybe he can help you. it gives you pleasure to run people down and always remember you where young once and went fast and had loud trucks, grow up life to short
ReplyDelete1:08 is correct--it is his sneaky way or the highway--good ol boy network at its finest...think Joe needs to get on the case in Pittsville like Salisbury---think he owns property there too....maybe an audit is in order---seems he can afford a lot of stuff and doesn't work--got rid of all the good help at the town office and hired his friend and made her the treasurer then hired his daughter to work at the office too...
