While Louise Smith, (President of the Salisbury City Council) has requested Chiefy Webster and Mayor Ireton address the City Council in reference to the Mayor's Crime Task Force, time has been set aside for them to do so tonight.
Mind you, Chiefy Webster is NOT on the Crime Task Force and in fact was pretty distant from participating, probably because of his differences with Councilwoman Debbie Campbell and Mayor Ireton.
Nevertheless, this should get quite interesting listening to these two spit out information AFTER so much has been exposed by Salisbury News in recent weeks. The pressure is on and they know it. 9 days ago, (as well as this past Saturday) we exposed crime on The Joe Albero Show, (repeated this past Saturday) and crime seemed to be on every one's mind immediately following as even the Daily Times had Grapevine comments all over the place ever since.
In all fairness, let's hope the Mayor and Chiefy have concrete answers and not more BS. Anyhow, here's your opportunity to express what YOU would like to hear Monday night.
Should be interesting to see who Smith shuts up tonight. Why won't anyone stand up to her and ask why certain people are not allowed to say whats on their minds? I can't, I'm not a Salisbury resident but my parents are who I worry about constantly.
ReplyDeleteI want to know how many ECI inmates are released in Wicomico County? And what percent commit new crimes or become active in gang activity? Someone knows the answer to this question, I hope it is the Chief!
ReplyDeleteFor years Chief Webster has sought more officers and our former Mayor and City Council did not fund his request. Where is the City Council now? Citizens should let their Council members know that they are tired of funding the fire department, tired of funding projects like the North Prong and Bricks, and want their tax money spent to bring down crime. It's time to hold Louise responsible and our other City Council members responsible for ignoring crime and letting it grow - oh that's right, crime is down.
ReplyDeleteI would like to hear the words, "You're FIRED!!!"
ReplyDeleteIf Ireton has any stones he will tell Louweasel that it is not his role as mayor to speak for the Task Force -- if she has any complaint about that group, she should tell it to them -- and if she has any questions about their activity, then ask them, not Ireton.
ReplyDeleteWebster should keep his mouth shut, but Ireton won't tell him that.
Who knows, maybe Louise will actually put these two on the spot.
ReplyDeleteIf you are worried about crime and have something to say, tonight might be the night to be there.
9:45, there are two council members who have busted their humps to get budget for more officers. (Can you guess who?)
ReplyDeleteThe 4 stimulus officers Weezy went against. She did nothing to get the officers their second year of raise either. Pretty hyper-critical of her to demand answers on crime.

Joe:
ReplyDeletePlease get your pal Mark MacIver to speak tonight -- and tell Louise when to put her head.
Oh Louise, Louise, Louise, whose game are you playing...
ReplyDeleteYou were going to do what Jim ?
