TRAFFIC ALERT
Inspection of Storm Drains in Sussex County
Rehoboth -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) wishes to make local residents in the Lewes and Rehoboth areas aware that KCI Technologies Inc. and Century Engineering will begin an inventory and inspection of storm drains in November from the hours of 6:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
The following subdivisions will be inspected:
*Fox Hollow
*Bay Oaks
*Pinewater Farm
*Beaver Dam Acres
*Lazy Lake
This work will consist of multiple visits at these subdivisions for photographs, measurements of ditches, drainage inlets and pipes. This project is part of DelDOT's program to reduce water quality impacts from its storm drain systems. The storm drainage inspection program is part of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), which is designed to decrease pollutants entering water bodies nationwide.
Anyone who sees a storm drain that needs to be repaired can notify DelDOT at 1-800-652-5600. If you notice illegal dumping, please call DelDOT at 1-800-662-8802.
