Yes, I have both VHS and Beta. I also have a turntable that will play, 33, 45 and 78 rpm recordings, it has a built in 8 track player as well. All units listed above work perfectly fine. Anything else?
We have one in the kids room. We have a lot of old Disney movies on VHS. but the kids watch DVDs far more often. Thinking about it now... I might pack that sucker up and put it in the attic.
Yes, I can't afford to go out and buy something new all the time, just because technology comes out with something new. Have too many movies already taped on them.
Sure do and hope nothing ever happens to it and they stop making them, a bunch of my favorite movies are on vhs, would hate to have to start all over with a dvd collection
It's not just starting all over with DVD's but then it's going to be Blue Ray's. You can watch a DVD on a Blue Ray player but you can't watch Blue Ray's on a DVD player.
Yes AND no.One of our household Televisions is a TV/DVD/VCR combo but the VCR stopped working which sucks because we have alot of VHS tapes.I want to buy another VCR but all they sell now are VCR/DVD combos and since I already have 2 DVD players,I would rather just get a plain old VCR.Any idea where one can find them?
You can buy VHS to DVD converter unit, it is relatively inexpensive. Also, if you computer has a DVD burner, you can buy VHS to DVD converting software.
Save space and whatever is recorded on your tape as VHS tape deteriorate with time even you don't play them.
Pretty sure no department store sells VCR's any more. You can get the combos but not the plain ole VCR. Yard sales, flea markets, and thift shops are probably the best bet to get one. I have one left and I am hoping it does not go up because I have every disney movie ever made (prior to DVD format) on VHS.
Alex, Only problem with VHS to DVD converters is that most VHS tapes (movies) had a built in "glitch" so they can't be copied to another VHS or other format. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I started buying Disney tapes for my daughter when they started coming out.
2:36, I think you mean a little notch on the left side (where you would write the movie title or whatever) of the body of the VHS tape if you hold as if you were inserting into the VCR. Compare that tape to a brand new VHS tape with no recording. You will note that brand new tapes have the notch protected by a piece of plastic. Once that piece is broken off, tape is prevented from being rerecorded on. All you have to do is cover the notch with a piece of tape or any sticker and it will allow you to copy or record on the tape. Try it.
no and i have no tape player for all my awesome tapes i recorded off the radio when i was twelwe, i would love to hear them, i remember recording the dedications on lites out so i could hear my and let another listen to it in case they missed up. boy we were all so awesome them. lol
