There was a shooting in Salisbury at around 5:30 PM where a Brandon Jones was shot and killed in the City. Brandon Jones was well known to the criminal system and was able to make it from the outside of his property back into the home but died soon after he got inside. More to come.......
Damn, I hope its not the Brandon that worked for me ten years ago or so. He was a good guy, and all my girls liked him, they were little then. Lost track of him over the years but I trusted him back then and he never failed me. Thats rare.
ReplyDeleteBrandon was a good hearted person and a true friend to many. A shame to leave the world in such a manner regardless of your background.
ReplyDeleteSo what about his record! No 1 is perfect! not even you! Rip Brandon!
ReplyDeleteWhere did the shooting take place? I live on Priscilla and thought I heard shots earlier this evening back on Jefferson.
ReplyDeleteNothing in Sa;lisbury surprises me anymore-its all Gangland now
ReplyDeleteRip Brandon!
ReplyDeleteanonymous 8:22, It happened on Hammond Street.
ReplyDeleteis there any other info about this? how old was he, i went to high school with a brandon jones
ReplyDeleteanonymous 9:17, we're talking about Chiefy Webster here. No one, unless you're one of his A$$ kissers, is going to get any additional information about this. He's a young man, probably in his early 20's.
ReplyDeleteI can assure you, right now Webster is kicking back sipping a cold one at home in another County. Oh, should I mention his Wife lives in a much safer community than the one he allegedly protects.
Webster is a worthless leader who needs to go. Again, Mayor Ireton, how many have to DIE before you finally GROW UP and fire that worthless SOB?????????

ReplyDeleteWhere did the shooting take place? I live on Priscilla and thought I heard shots earlier this evening back on Jefferson.
8:22 PM
520 Hammond Street. No. 1 male shot in the chest more than once and it occurred around 4:30 PM not 5:30 PM.
Hes older than that Joe.
ReplyDeleteOMG, 4:30, not 5:30. WOW, thank you so much for clearing that up.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you Idiots going to realize there was just ANOTHER murder! When are you Idiots going to finally storm the Mayors Office and demand the Chief's resignation! Who has to be next? Do you realize that the SPD is going to arrest ANYONE just to close one ouot of 10 murders and there's a good chance they'll send someone to jail for life because they simply need to lock someone up!
Now think about this. Will you let your kids walk the streets of Salisbury at 4:30 or 5:30 at night? I don't give a sh!t what time this happened. It's Mayoir Ireton's fault this time and it will be his fault the next time and the time after until her terminates a USELESS & WORTHLESS Police Chief. Shame on Jim Ireton!
I heard three shots and really thought it was firecrackers since it was daytime. Hammond Street is one block behind my house. Iheard the fire alarm sound from the station on Brown St., but that thing goes off all the time.
ReplyDeleteDoug Wilkerson, I really don't care how old he is, he's gone.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Police Chief and Mayor who jusy don't give a sh!t about you life, your spouces or your family members. People will continue to die in Salisbury because two of the top key people running the City simply don't give a sh!t.
4:30 in the afternoon, broad daylight, when kids are outside playing, unfreakinbelievable.
ReplyDeleteSalisbury isn't safe at night. Salisbury isn't safe during the day. Salisbury isn't safe...PERIOD.
Joe, Chill, I am not an idiot I am on your side. Just trying to get a more accurate timeline for you. Yes I agree that our new, I mean our mayor needs to get off his ass and do the job we elected him to do. I would submit to you that after 7 months in office and nothing accomplished I can't consider him our "new" mayor. I am starting to feel uncomfortable with him as our so called leader. This city is getting worse and yes how many people have to DIE DAMN IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard on police scanner that around 7:oo a stabbing happened in the same area, Joe do you know anything about this?????
ReplyDeleteIt's no wonder good home owners are jumping ship and moving the hell out of this crime infested city. Allowing Alan Webster to stay in his position is just criminal. Par for the course for our elected city officials.
ReplyDeleteEven if thugs are killing each other, bystanders could be killed or injured. A stray bullet could have hit me or my kids this afternoon. Who knows? However, I do know action needs to be taken on crime right now. No more excuses. Get it done now Mr. Mayor.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Brandon J Jones at 530 Hammond street from the court records and it says hes was 24 there. Not sure if it's the same person or not.
ReplyDeleteMake no mistake about the gangs in Salisbury. They are here. It is mostly the bloods but there are plenty of others.
ReplyDeleteIf you drive down Booth street on a Saturday morning say, everyone is on the corners wearing red. I would take some pictures but I am afraid of getting shot.
What was that guy that got shot in the chest with a shotgun at the pemberton apts name, I guess that would be detective work.
Perhaps we need to attack the problem from a different angle. Change the gun carrying laws in MD so that people can defend themselves. Criminals are obviously carrying them. That way the police chief's or mayor's opinions/efforts to fight crime would not matter. Guns laws mean nothing to criminals, they only hurt honest citizens who actually follow laws.
In Vermont if you legally own a gun you can do whatever the f you want with it (conceal carry/open carry/etc).
Lt. Leatherbury and Sheriff Lewis I am pleading for you to put more troopers and deputies in the city limits. Please have your officers patrol the city more. After all Salisbury is in the county and state and we deserve that service we pay for.
ReplyDeleteIs this the same Brandon Jones that did heat and air work? He was such a nice person I can't imagine him being involved with thugs.
ReplyDeletei sorry to say salisbury will never b the same unless the law puts down those donuts and useless coffee ; there's alot happening in this small town as a blk male and young its crazy even if your a hard workn honest person bcuz we end up with harrassment while the real thugs walk salisbury like its theirs ;if u go into some the areas ive been n u'll see that just about everyone on the corner looks as tho they own their own stop sign or sidewalk
ReplyDeleteHanibal,
ReplyDeleteYou are right. If people were armed, this crime would become curtailed.
Our government wants us to be totally dependent on the police. They wish we were not able to defend ourselves. Their security is our insecurity.
This is a small town to have this type of problem. Killings should be extremely rare in a town our size. I have lived in larger towns and small cities but the amount of crime here is concerning.
Maybe someone needs to dig through his contract, and see if they can get rid of him. There is a specific reason, they are having such a hard time doing so. Someone need to be a P.I. and dig real hard, and figure that out!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what I did tonight Folks. I called our elected officials and I flat out told them, I WILL NOT TAKE IT ANY MORE!
ReplyDeleteMy In Laws live in Salisbury. My Wife works in Salisbury and I own property in Salisbury. I REFUSE to allow this wanna be photo op Mayor to play games with peoples lives. I said that this murder is Jim Ireton's fault! How many home runs does a manager allow to happen before he gets rid of the pitcher and brings in someone who can close the deal and finish the game victorious!
Jim Ireton is calling Chiefy Webster HIS CHIEF. OK Jim, Chiefy obviously works for you, this is YOUR murder.
Now, how was that North Prong photo op today. LOOK AT MEEEEE, LOOK AT MEEEEE!
For the taxes we pay, we deserve far better.
Oh, to the commenter that asked the State Police and Sheriff's Department to step in and help out, TRUST ME, THEY ALREADY ARE!
The SPD is down, (ARE YOU READY) 12 Officers!!!! TWO more veterans are retiring, they've had enough. That's right, more 21 year old Coips on the beat that know no one, have absolutely no clue what's what.
Webster, if you thought I was a pain in your ass in the past, wait until you get a sample of me over the next few weeks. That goes for you too Ireton. Joe Albero is back and I will not give up exposing the TRUTH in Saliusbury until these people make some immediate changes. Oh sure, you can rely on the Daily Times to watch your back but here on Salisbury News, the day has come. It's time to dig into Webster's past in Baltimore.
I'm willing to sell my house in this neighborhood for $20,000 below the tax appraisal, as is. I'm ready to get out ASAP. If your a landlord that is willing to buy, put you contact info here and we'll start the process. I've had it.
ReplyDelete10:18 Webster has not had a contract with the city since 2003. Barrie just kept him on now Jim thinks he can't fire him. Jim can fire him, with or without council approval. If he sues, so what. He'll have to get in line behind everyone else suing the city. Once in court he couldn't win once a judge and jury heard his record as chief of police.
ReplyDeleteBy the time the city is rid of Webster we will have attained the #1 position in the nation for violent crime. Is this his goal?
I agree Joe, enough is enough. Don't blame it on the economy either. The crap going on here in Salisbury has nothing to do with the economy. How about a photo op in front of the crime scene tonight Mr. Mayor? Maybe you could announce that you've had enough and major changes are on the way. You won't see kids riding bigwheels around Salisbury anymore. Quit wasting time on Tapegate and police the town Cheif! It wasn't that long ago that there wasn't 4 murders in 5 years in Salisbury,
ReplyDeleteWhy don't these thugs start hanging out in the more upscale communities. Maybe then, the upper echleon will take notice and do something about the crime rate in this city. As long as these young black gangster thugs are killing each other in their slum infested poor neighborhoods that most citizens have forgotten about and really don't give a damn about, NO effects will be made to curve the crime in this city. What is it going to take, the killing of an innocent child from a communities that don't have to worry about the high crime rate in Salisbury. Thank GOD these thugs aren't hanging out in my community.
ReplyDeleteI guess he wont be a problem for the justice system anymore. Thank you. Not sucking tax money anymore. I always like how people come out of the woods saying "Oh he was a good kid, I trust him with my life, He took out the trash for old people, oh he always did his homework, oh he would never do something like that!" You people dont know anything. I guess he was framed everytime he was in court for criminal activity. This dude got what he deserved. You play with fire, you will get burned at some point. Yeah, let the gangs kill each other. We will just sweep em up, type the report and foreward it up to the POS detectives. Webster, you are doing a fine job!
ReplyDeleteHasn't Salisbury been called little Baltimore...because that is pretty much what it is. Junkies, gangs, whores, drugs, murders, I could go on and on. Whats even worse things look their are no going to get any better any time soon.
ReplyDeleteEmergency referendum held to vote on walther law aiding citizens can carry a gun to protect themselves...like that will ever happen.
1 less slug off the streets! 1 less criminal that wont drain any more tax money from Salisbury! No public defender. No over time for the officers to go to court. No more time wasted on this well know criminal to the system. Best advice to the police, look the other way and let them kill them selves. Yeah, Im cold hearted but you know what? I am not a criminal, I work and pay taxes, I pay for things I need, I have never been arrested and I have never been involved with the police. OMG, I did get a warning for a seat belt violation. My bad. Tough luck Brandon.
ReplyDeleteWow. Here's the sad truth: If it were WHITE kids were out on the streets killing each other, THAT'S when people would give stand up and say, not in my town. As it stands now, blacks are still second-class citizens in Salisbury. Tell me I'm wrong. Someone needs to address this fact.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I feel sorry for the loser who ever kicks you in the balls. With the brass hanging between your legs they will break their foot. Man you have some big ones. I have never heard or seen anyone one call public officials out like this ever.
ReplyDelete10:50 it goes well beyond the neighborhood. What activities are offered for low income kids? Where are the community centers for the kids to get help with homework and then have something constructive to do afterward? Where are the people willing to go into those neighborhoods and show the bad apples another way of life? Where are the people that realize 75% of the people in those neighborhoods are good people with bad circumstances?
ReplyDeletePeople cannot be given everything (housing, transportation, money, food, insurance, etc.) on a silver platter and then expected to make good decisions in life. The only thing that does is encourage people to stay in the same situation because they are rewarded for doing so. You know the old saying "give a man a fish you feed him for a day teach a man how to fish you feed him for a life time"; well that same philosophy applies in this situation.
There are ignorant people and "thugs" in all races. How many men and women have been arrested in recent months in the surrounding areas for sexual assault, child pornography, and robbery? Not all of those people were of one race nor of one economic background. I came from a family of uneducated blue collar workers with no emphasis on gaining an education, but I did it not for only me but for my children.
We cannot quit everyone because of a few morons, it's not fair to those that truly want a way out but have never been shown how to get out. If a person has never known the dream of college, or the dream of being able to obtain a great paying career they will only do what it is they have known. Unfortunately the people in those neighborhoods you refer to know the welfare system and slinging on the corner. They know working odd jobs or "hustling". Stand up as a community and some how devise a plan to help those kids. Even if the adults have become comfortable in the lost road attitude those kids deserve to be accepted, encouraged, and to succeed.
Sorry I know this comment sways from the post, but it saddens my heart to see so many people giving up on all people because of a select few.
Our leaders are too busy worrying about things like rehabbing The Bricks, and getting new fire equipment, and libraries and such to give a hoot about this pesky crime thing. As long as this guy Webster stays at the top, doing what he's always done, we're gonna get what we've always gotten...which clearly isn't working. A change is necessary.
ReplyDeleteNo longer optional. Let's get it done and move on towards a safer city, one where a regular person can go to a convenience store after dark without taking their life into their hands.
PLEASE Mr. Mayor, you're the only one who can make this happen. We deserve better, and you PROMISED us better. Now follow thru.
It must be those darned SU College kids intruding on the neighborhood. Better get down to the College and bust up another party, Chiefy and Jim! That'll fix 'em!
ReplyDeleteWow what a wonderful city we live in. The open homicides keep piling up.
ReplyDeleteIt is ime for a County Polie Force.
Lets face it the current system is not keeping up with the crime.
The local politcals need to look at this very close. The crime is out of control.
S.P.D. & County are talking about furloughs for the police. They must be crazy. I want them on the streets. Make your cut else where or come up with a better plan.
Simple less cops more crime. Less crime solved. It is not rocket science.
Look at the post prior to this one on all the arrest made by SPD they are doing the best they can with what they have. It is an beyond me that no one else can see the need for some reform in the way we do business in this county and city. I will get the heck out of here as soon as I can afford to move.
Pollitt and Ireton need to stop talking and take control of the situation we elected them to take care of. That goes for both councils as well.
Joe i am with you on this one it has come to a head and needs fixing as soon as possible.
To the person wanting State and County coverage. I lesten to the scanner they are busy as well. We need some educated thinking in this matter.
Merge the services of the city and the county the citizens deserve it.
At least a large street crimes unit to combat these thugs.
Set up a tent city like the guy in Arizona and lock them up for any infraction.
People need to be able to go out without fear of crime. One of the county execs people was shot for god's sakes and has not be caught.
Make a team of the hard chargers and cut them loose on these thugs.
Troopers, Deputies, Officers. A violent crime task force.
It is time to cut the dogs loose track these animals down and arrest them. Send a message
We all need the right to carry our own handguns, open or concealed. It's the only way to stop it now.
ReplyDeletei heard on the news that it was 17 year old brandon jones, thats if i heard right, and if i did i hear right i knew him :/
ReplyDelete12:36 i totally agree with with. it all starts at home and some people just don't come from a good home and that is not their fault. people are products of their enviroment, if their enviroment never changes neither will they. its all very sad
ReplyDeleteJoe , nothing will be done , the mayor is a whimp , as well as
ReplyDeleteWebster. Start carrying weapons , any judge would would be very forgiving given the track record of this city. Lock and load!
I am sorry that a young man died, no matter what his background was. I am also sorry that the people of Salisbury think that firing Webster as Police Chief will fix the gang problems, murder, and other violence in Salisbury. Now by NO means do I support Webster, but let's be real with or with out him the Salisbury Police can't control everything!!!
ReplyDeleteSalisbury is growing at a very fast pace. I grew up here. I have a family and friends here. I love Salisbury. BUT Salisbury is growing very rapidly. Every day I see Baltimore and the big cities and their problems being brought to Salisbury. There is no way to stop growth.

6:44 AM
What an idiot, it has nothing to do with how fast Salisbury is growing. It has everything to do with fighting crime in Salisbury. As long as we have rentals and a Mayberry police force we will always have crime. As long as we have a wimpy mayor and a city council owned by slum lords we will always have crime. The only thing that is growing is crime and rental housing. Look at all the annexations taking place in this city. What are they for? Apartments and rental housing. That is a start to slowing down the crime, moving rentals out of the city.
First off my heart goes out to the family of Brandon Jones. I dont know him or anything about him but im certain that his family is grieving today and I will pray for them.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, nothing you are going to do will correct this problem. It is a national epidemic. Gangs killing gangs. You see it much more prevalant here in salisbury because of the amount of gangs vs amount of police on the street to control them. Without putting more cops on the street, there isnt a damn thing anyone is going to do. I agree with the County Police thought, but I think that is a total dream and nothing more. They arent going to do it. Its a money issue. My suggestion, pull some police from surrounding agencies and start a small 2 month task force to clean up this area.
Most of these gang members are either wanted or commiting small crimes daily but no police there to take action against them. Get some cops from Dorcheter Co, Talbot CO, Ocean City, Worc Co. Bring down some dogs and have them smell every car in Salisbury. Have Ocean City bring down their horse unit and let them walk the streets of salisbury. Bring in Easton PD and there task forces. Lets flood the streets with police and get these jackasses off the street.
That being said, when they get to court, these judges need to help us out as well. They cant be giving small time for big crime. If the commit a crime against a person it needs to be a minimum sentence. I was in court in Wicomico Co last week and saw a guy get a fine for an assault!!! I mean get real? I fine!!! Totally absurd! These street thugs know that if they get locked up there going to get appointed an atty to represent them and wont get much time. For them, its 3 hots and a cot. Also, keep in mind, some of them wont even post bond because they can take care of business in jail with there inside gang members.
Finally, i know some of you are going to say "Well you need money to fund all the new cops and pulling in cops from the surrounding area". Well tell this jackass of a mayor that he needs to stop worrying about little boats in the river and start worrying about the lives being lost and this good hometown area going to the thugs. This is a real problem and something needs to be done!
Charlie Johnson
Congradulations, citizens of Salisbury. To reward your elite forces, there is a brand new Ford Expedition being outfitted in Libertytown right now. The truck will be ready for delivery anytime now to coincide with your latest murder. What a valuable and expensive reward you are to be given.
ReplyDeleteIt is too late for Salisbury. You should give up and move out. Just don't bring your weak a$$es to my town.
To the person attempting to blame some of these activities on there not being enough for "low income"families to do. Bullsh!t. I am not rolling in the money, however, my child has plenty to do. It's called spending time with family. Teaching right from wrong. Having parents that correct when wrong. A lot of this behavior starts at home with the parents. I can't tell you how many times I have heard supposed mothers and fathers cussing at their kids.ex: "shut the f up, you gettin on my nerves." in the middle of a store. Parents wake up!!! Stop being scared to PARENT your children. It starts at home!
ReplyDeletereal talk dude wasnt involved in no gang AT ALL!!!! I knew him personally cool guy laid back & didnt bother nobody. he was a good dude...quit sterotyping people....sterotype the criminals not the victims
ReplyDelete"Lt. Leatherbury and Sheriff Lewis I am pleading for you to put more troopers and deputies in the city limits. Please have your officers patrol the city more. After all Salisbury is in the county and state and we deserve that service we pay for."
ReplyDeleteActually by law the State Police are not allowed to patrol incorporated areas (like salisbury) without the consent from the Chief of Police in that city. And as for the service you pay for, now that's funny. EVERYONE is so dam short handed your lucky we don't have a shooting every day. That's because everywhere you turn nobody wants a tax increase on this that or the other. So, THIS IS THE SERVICE YOU GET when you DON'T pay for it. What say you now VOICE??? And it will only get worse.
Mayor, this is your police chief now. Crime is rampant. Now it is "your" crime because it is "your" chief. I am tired of excuses about not having 3 votes. How do you know until you try. Give us some notice so that we can lobby our council members. If they don't support ousting Webster, I'll start the recall myself! Same goes for the fire department. The acting chief is part of on ongoing problem that has become a morale draining money sink. He wants to buy lots of stuff and play childish status games instead of taking care of the personnel. Last time I checked SPD was down 12 officers. That's nothing new. How many have come and gone on Webster's watch?
ReplyDeleteIt's a pitty that someone else has died. Do something! Lead!
So let me make sure I am understanding all of these clueless people. Crime has nothing to do with growth hmmm, Well I lived in Salisbury all of my childhood life and part of my adult life we owned our home and the marjority of the ones around us were owned as well. Now there are more rental properties in the City then there are homes that are occupied by the owners and more being built all the time so of course growth has alot to do with the crime rate.
ReplyDeleteI could play outside day or night with out worry or my parents worrying about me. Now you can't even sit inside your damn house in some neighborhoods without worrying about getting shot.
Joe, do you really think digging into Chief Websters previous record in Baltimore will really help this problem or assist the citizens in having him fired. I think it is a waste of your time obviously none of this matters or he would have been gone long ago.
What really needs to be changed is the fact that there are no more Police Officers working the street right now then there were 20 years ago when crime was not such a problem. The City Police Dept is simply under staffed to handle the amount of crime in the area. I know I worked there from 1990 until 2000. I worked under Dykes and I worked under Webster but not long after he got there I left and many good officers left too. I see on this site people complaining about college students when they are problems, about break ins, about robberies, shootings, murders, all crime when it is occuring and everyone complains the Police don't do anything. I just wonder if the same people who complain about the crime would be the same ones complaining about a tax increase to fund more Officers when that is really what is needed. There are just not enough resources in the City for them to handle the amount of crime occuring. Maybe you should try and support the Officers that are out there putting their life on the line everyday and night to do what they can. Like I have said there are not enough Officers in that city that Department is a revolving door for Officers just a stepping stone for most. Until the Officers are supported by the Adminstration, the Mayor, the Council, and the citizens nothing will ever change. It is diffently time for a coaching change. The new Chief should either be elected by the people or have a strict contract so he doesn't have to ass kiss to the Mayor and Council to get anything done or have them dictate to him what he will or will not do. I saw it happen with Dykes towards the end of his career and the beginning of the Tilghman Admin.and it is obviously going on with Webster. If Tilghman had not forced Dykes to retire and he hadn't been killed so tragically I don't think the City would be in quite as bad a state.
its sad when you have people making this a black/ white issue. the last time i looked down booth st there where just as many white kids as blacks now. so for the blogger who called our children young black thugs, and said spd should let them kill each other is a virus in this community. maybe every criminal white or black should take a year and only kill white people and see how you look over your shoulder then a$@hole.
ReplyDeleteAnon. 7:56
ReplyDeleteThank you. I agree wholeheartedly. When my daughter was a young teen she did something wrong & got punished. The threateded to call the police. I gave her the phone!!! I think a lot of the crime among young people if parents would do their jobs. You made them now be a parent, not just a babysitter.
7:56, you just don't get it! You probably never will because you hold an egotistical viewpoint. That's great your kids have things to do and family to spend quality time with. My children also have things to occupy their minds and a caring mother and father that do all we can to produce outstanding members of society.
ReplyDeleteThe point is the kids that are living the life of neglect, rejection, and no positive support need others that can lead them on a new path. For a kid to be put in boy scouts or girl scouts it is on average $300 or more a year after registration fees, monthly dues, field trips, and fundraisers. ($300 is probably a low estimate) To put a child in any sport is at least a couple hundred bucks a year and requires a car to travel to games and practices.
All of us, no matter how good or bad the neighborhood is in which we live have at least one kid that is left out. One kid that does not get to eat dinner every night and has no one to help with homework. He or she is wearing clothes this year that were worn last year and more than likely the year before. There are people all around us in a rut that need help, even if it is just educating them to other ways in life.
I do not understand why helping someone is like pulling teeth? It doesn't hurt and more than likely will make you feel pretty damn good after you are done. Why is it a bad idea to have places for the kids to go so they can experience something outside of drugs and violence? A place where they can see college is a possibility for all people not just those with money? I think it is a darn good idea for all communities to have areas for the kids to go with supervision by people who care.
Joe,
ReplyDeleteWould it behoove you to start a petition on your blog? You have SO many good points that are easily found, with proven statistics...if they need it in black & white. Not to mention, by following your blog, it appears that you would have a huge possitive response.
How many signatures would it take to see a change?
My opinion/reccomendation- write a letter (posted on your blog), stating the facts with statistics and given timelines, and demand our (tax payers) requests for immediate change. See how many signatures you could get and take that to the elected officials office...or as high as need be to make change happen- before more of our youth, or anyone for that matter, is raped, robbed, or murdered...
I'm grasping at straws here, don't know what it will take for them to make a change but we can keep pushing as hard as possible and hope for the best!
Crime is going wild all over Delmarva. No matter where you go anymore you hear about another shooting, stabbing, assult, or armed robbery. Its SAD!! It is time the citivens of Delmarva stand up and take back are penninsula!
ReplyDelete9:31 think what u want. I do get it. I do see what ur saying, however.
ReplyDeleteWhat I mean is when there are people out there that are making the time to help and encourage those less fortunate, it's a slap in the face to have those children curse u, steal from you, threaten u b/c they see it, hear it, and live it at home!!! That's what i mean it starts at home.
Those actions have no benefit to teaching our children to be civilized and respectful and really have nothing to do with money. There are homeless people that are more respectful and giving than the rich man in line next to them. Be a parent and don't expect others to teach these qualities. After all children look up to their parents more than anyone else.

Obviously a stupid response from a liberal dumbocrat. It amazes me how people blame others and pass the buck. It seems like the liberals are always ready to give up.

Have you been down Booth Street lately? There are NO white kids on booth street. Now who is the a$@hole?
Hammond,Jefferson, all that area is a ghetto hellhole. At least it was when I left it 5 yrs ago.Drugs, thugs,it was like an urban Dantes inferno.Lots of subsidized housing so there is very little pride. If the police did a one day sweep of Id'ing people and cracking down on quality of life crimes like the 20-30 kids hanging out in the vacant lot behind the Hammond Street townhouses they might actually take a few criminals off the street.
ReplyDeleteBlacks will never give up..Get over slavery and everything else..White blacks reds blues..anyone stop trying to fit in because you think its cool do do drugs..kill people..rape..hurt people and or yourself..If i do remember it was president lincoln who FREED THE SLAVES? BUT IT WAS THE RICH BLACKS WHO WERE SELLING THE POOR BLACKS..HUH SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!!!!
ReplyDelete11:58 put the race card back in your pocket lol.see white people dont just shoot one person when they shoot they shoot as many people as they can then the finish themselves off which is good because we skip the trial we dont have to pay for their incarceration and w have one less looney off the streets.the thing that scared me the most was just after the shooting when the police were pulling up they were letting kids get of the school bus right in front of the area the shooting took place.
ReplyDeleteIreton will not do anything because Wilber will not let him!
ReplyDeleteI also agree that the trouble with these kids is in their own homes. Their parents don't teach them manners, respect, discipline, and love for their fellow man. I think if parents were held accountable for the actions of their kids, their would be alot less senseless killing. And we can't wait till their unreachable any longer!
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeletePLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post this comment and make people aware of the problems within our judiciary system-as if they weren't already... The suspect arrested in the Brandon Jones murder case is 19-Year-old Derrien Brett Douglas (kudos to SPD for getting an arrest). I want everybody to go to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search and look at this kids rap sheet. While it is not long, it is SERIOUS!
Here are the charges and results of one of his previous events:
2 Counts of attempted First Degree Murder-Nolle Prosequi
2 Counts of attempted Second Degree Murder-Nolle Prosequi
2 Counts of First Degree Assault-Nolle Prosequi
Second Degree Assault-Guilty
Second Degree Assault-Nolle Prosequi
Wear, Carry And Transport Handgun Upon Their Person-Guilty
2 Counts of Reckless Endangerment-Nolle Prosequi
Handgun Use/Felony/Violent Crime-Nolle Prosequi
2 Counts of Possession of Regulated Firearm/Ammunition Being Under 21-Nolle Prosequi
Essentially, this kid nearly killed somebody and got off with $860.00 in Fines and Court Costs, a RECOMMENDATION that he participate in a youth offender program, and apparently 4 years in jail. But from the looks of it, he hardly spent a year in jail and my guess is that he didn't attend the youth offender program! Techincally, if he served the full 4 years, he would still be in jail now!
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM!?!?!?! They treated this kid like he was in traffic court for a speeding ticket! What ever happened to Wicomico County EXILE? Hard time for gun crime right?
Wicomico Exile
Looks like a failed program already! Sure, he was under 18, but the victims don't buy that excuse. Brandon Jones and his friends and family don't think it's a very good excuse now, do they? The blood of this senseless act in not only on the hands of Derrien Douglas, but also on the hands of the Judge, the probation officer and the State of Maryland's Judiciary System for not getting the cold blooded killer off the streets when they had the chance to do so! We wonder why crime is so bad these days. People blame it on the economy, I blame it on the system. These days you are better off in court after you shoot somebody than you are if you get popped doing 10MPH over the speed limit! THE CRIMINALS SEE THIS! They know that their actions have no consequences because they see what people are getting away with! Crack down on them in court and I guarantee that you will see a reduction in crime on the streets!
This murder should not have happened, it shouldn't have even been a possibility! Right now, a family grieves the loss of a loved one simply because our system failed...
I don't understand how these kids don't value life and actually think they are going to get away with killing somebody. Brandon was a great man and I know his family who are the best people you would ever want to know. It is senseless and now he won't be here to welcome his child into this world. I pray for his family to find peace through this difficult time. If you don't know Brandon then you shouldn't make a comment because he was not a THUG. RIP Brandon.
ReplyDeleteHe was a young man who was about to be a father and was killed over something that had absolutely nothing to do with him. He wasnt a "career criminal" and he was not a thug. Before all of you start spilling hate and saying "one less criminal on the streets" get your facts straight. RIP Brandon.
