INCIDENT: Attempted Murders
DATE: October 3, 2009
LOCATION: American Legion, 1216 Jersey Road, Salisbury, Maryland.
NARRATIVE: On October 3, 2009 at approximately 0055 hours the Maryland State Police - Salisbury Barrack responded to the American Legion located at the above address on Jersey Road for a report of a fight where two individuals were each stabbed multiple times.
Upon arrival, Troopers located several hundred people leaving the Legion and two victims with stab wounds. Additionally, a female victim had been struck by an unknown object and had a swollen area on her forehead.
All three victims were transported by EMS to PRMC where one was listed in stable condition and one was listed in critical condition. The victim in stable condition suffered from multiple stab wounds to the right rib cage area, none of which appear life threatening. The victim in critical condition suffered from five stab wounds, some of which punctured a lung and the liver. The female victim was also transported to PRMC but eventually refused treatment
Investigators from WBI responded and assumed the investigation.
It appears that the stabbings occurred during a larger physical altercation that appears to be motivated by an argument between Pocomoke residents, who had rented the Legion, and some local residents.
WBI investigators processed and photographed the crime scene and collected evidence.
Investigation continues.

Word on the street: they are $47,000 in arrears on the mortgage. It should be shut down. It is a public nuisance. Always disturbing the peace.
ReplyDeleteAin't no crime in Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteI smell Honiss Cane in this somehow.
ReplyDeleteUnless I'm mistaken, the black AL in Salis. has been a good spot where locals are welcome to hang out and it has been relatively safe there. Again, I'm only going off of what friends who frequent this establishment say, but things have been pretty low key over.
ReplyDeleteWhenever you get a large group of those people together they become very uncivilized.
ReplyDeleteSheriffs Dept. spends that much a week providing a safety net, however they cant cover that many minorities.
ReplyDeleteminy chicago! What is it with black people that they can't have a good time without a few always acting up!
ReplyDeleteThat place does not represent the
ReplyDeleteAmerican Legion!!!That is a place to get drunk and brawl. Obamas hide
out.
Probably reason number 48319884893 that I'm glad I moved the hell out of Pocomoke after high school.

As a veteran and Legion member, I don't agree with 11:44 as the AL does many good deeds for the community.
ReplyDeleteThe AL may have leased their hall to an unruly group but how can your really stop that these days?
"Those People" u must be talking about salisbury firemen.
ReplyDeletehey Rob S. i beat you out of town two years earlier.

Don't rent it out!! Your people can't handle crowds, drugs and booze. Why do you think UMES won't even allow their people to have parties there. Look with they have done at the Delmar Convention Center, the Wicomico Civic Center, UMES, the AL and many others. Why do your people act uncivilized. I am sure it is only a small group each time, but it's the truth and they ruin things for everyone.
I dont know how big the building is,but several hundred people sounds like a fire hazard
ReplyDeleteblack peope are not the only ones that act uncivilized white people do to just don't hear about it. If the county would bring more shot around here for people to do beside bar and club hop every week. I actually read my friend facebook page that something went down at brew couple weeks ago never read about that on here what up with that

LMAO
To all you "your people" posters, don't be a dumb@$$. The biggest public fights I have seen were composed of white people. The fact is, any time you get alot of people together, especially alot of young people together with alcohol, there is a chance that violence is going to happne.
ReplyDeleteAs far as UMES "not allowing their people to have parties..." you are badly misinformed; you've likely not have taken the time to look up any information. The fact is, there were several parties/fundraisers organized by locals last year not to mention the concerts that coincide with homecoming events. Shut your piehole unless you have something useful to say
There was also a shooting outside the Fountains in Salisbury awhile back that stemmed from a UMES hip hop gathering.

This is a blog. People are allowed to comment (including anonymously). What did you think this was?
The utility of a person's comment is irrelevant to the purpose of the blog. People are encouraged to comment here even if the comment serves no purpose at all.
I had a conversation with my neighbor yesterday that lasted for over an hour. It served no Purpose at all. We simply enjoyed the conversation.
I hope I don't have to construct a THESIS just to make a public comment on an incident which ocurrs here in my town!
what is all the fuss about? just folks having a big time in Salisbury! I am sure Davis Ruark will take this case on.
ReplyDelete7:23, if UMES allows parties on their campus, then why do they have to go to S.U. to have them? For years they have been having UMES parties in Salisbury, and the fights, added security, and overall atttitudes of the attendies make the events look like something a bunch of uneducated ghetto thugs would put on.
ReplyDeleteNone of that nonsense occurs at the VFW #10159. If there are conflicts, there is immediate intervention, and undesirable patrons are permanently barred from the premises.
ReplyDelete1:43PM,
ReplyDeleteYou're on to something there ;)
Anon 10:41, they don't care how many people are crammed into the building. They need money for the delinquent mortgage which they are not going to pay. I don't know the fine points of the law, but my common sense tells me that there should be some liability for innocent patrons who are injured on the premises. Probably no insurance, either.
ReplyDeleteAnon 9:23AM, why not construct a thesis? It would probably be a very informative and insightful commentary.
ReplyDeleteAnon 1:43PM and 11:12AM, I am getting your drift.
ReplyDeleteThis must be a mistake. City Councilwoman Shanie Shields is on record as saying that crime is not a problem in Salisbury.
ReplyDelete9:44PM, You are correct, UMES now holds their dances in conjunction with the black clubs at SU. The trouble could start over a minor disagreement or something that has been brewing for months. It's not just blacks that fight, but they seem to take a fight to a different level by using guns, not caring about the consequences.
ReplyDeleteFrom the view across the bay, Salisbury must be comparable to Watts in California. Why can't everyone get along? Why do the citizens have so much anger?
ReplyDeleteOMG! The community should exert effort to have that cesspool shut down. Will innocent people have to die before anything is done? What if a resident of the area catches a bullet intended for some else?
ReplyDeletedamn ppl i just say watch what u do or say or thats what u get
