  1. I am old enough to believe it was the Glenn Miller band. Are there people on this site that remember that band?

  5. Some good ole Grateful Dead, though growing up it was the Jefferson Airplane, who to this day does not get the credit they deserve for being the biggest US rock band of the late 1960s.

  19. To Joel Brandes: I remember Glen Miller & the Big Band sound, my dad played with Benny Goodman right before WWII. That was some great stuff.

I said the Beatles, but love Pink Floyd & Fleetwood Mac too - maybe we should name our Top Ten? Picking just one is impossible.

  24. Aint no favorite... there's too many that made the grade: Beatles, Stones, Credence, Who, U2, but I know it's not my wedding band! Today, at least. That went 10 years ago. Nice not to have one of those after the attempted murder, you know..

  27. Ben&Geri:

I remember Southern Iron! They were great! We used to listen to them when they played at the little club on Bateman St. Wasn't it called the Seagull Lounge, or the Phoenix Lounge? (my brain is smoldering ashes) My favorite now is VanZant and of course Lynyrd Skynyrd.
