Location: Christiana High School, 190 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE
Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Resume:
Delaware State Police have arrested a 17 year-old student for carrying a weapon in school.
Troopers were called to the Christiana High School this afternoon after a student saw a 17 year-old ninth grader with bullets in his hand. The student later saw what he felt to be a handgun tucked in the 17 year-old boy’s waist. The student notified a teacher and school administrators confronted the 17 year-old. They found five .45 caliber rounds and a BB gun that resembled a .357 or .40 caliber weapon.
Troopers charged the 17 year-old with possession of a weapon in a safe school zone and carrying a concealed dangerous instrument.
No one was injured during the incident.
The school administration will be taking administrative action against the student.
17 year old 9th grader , should
ReplyDeletebe in the 12th grade by now.
Anyone that slow shouldn't be around children in the 9th grade.
He belongs in Jail.
There is the problem a 17 year old ninth grader. This punk should be in the 12th grade or graduated.
ReplyDeleteIts the no child left behind BS.
ReplyDeleteis this the height of stupidity or what.
ReplyDeleteHe is lucky he was arrested and not shot... but then on second thought!!
ReplyDeleteIts not the No child left behind BS. This students been left behind 3+ times. Get them out of there. Nothing but a bad influence.
ReplyDeleteJail for failing government school?!? ::shakes head::
ReplyDeleteI can remember when the states had enough money to segregate delinquents and pregnant teens by sending them off to what was termed on the west coast, "continuation schools"; at least until 18 years-of-age, then if the student was not advancing they would be expelled and expected to participate in the work force or the service.
Now there is no work, and no continuation schools.
5:40...there's someone who has absolutely no idea what No Child Left Behind really is. It may be a lousy piece of legislation, but it has nothing to do with 17 year old 9th graders.
ReplyDeleteWow, this story is kinda scary, being that one of my best friends coaches basketball at that school.. he said that the kids were from bad area's but, wow a BB gun in school? with real bullets in his hand! Im praying for the Teachers & students that have to be around kids like this, and live in fear for their lives!
