Signs Of The Times

Yesterday we provided an article about Home Depot and things being slow there. I received several telephone calls telling me it's nowhere near as bad as my Post made it sound, and I believe them.

That being said, the image above is delivered with all due respect to E.D. Supply and my hat is tipped to them for taking the bull by the horns in such a difficult economy and thinking of their Staff first!

If only our local City & County Municipalities would take on a business like attitude and cut out ALL related activities, including the Salisbury Festival and think first before any lay offs have to take affect.

Please remember where you came from Folks and remember companies like E.D. Supply the next time you have electrical needs.

  1. Its been a lot longer than a year, more like pushing three years. Its is as bad as the post yesterday said and then some.

  2. ED Supply is the BEST lighting supplier in Salisbury. If you haven't been in their showroon give it a try.

  3. The owners of ED Supply are some of the most generous people in our community. Even in these tough times they were caring enough to initiate the program that enabled kids be able to go watch Fernando Guerrero when he fought in Salisbury. There sincere concern started the ball rolling and other bussiness followed. The program was run through Kids of Honor and rewarded kids in various programs by donating a ticket to deserving youths. Please remember how these people feel about the kids in our community when choosing to patronize a bussiness. The bottom line is not always the bottom line. I know that it troubles ED Supply having to make a cut that shows customer appriciation, especially when they appriciatate thier customers so much. Coach Hal Chernoff

  5. ED Supply has 'owned-up' to the present state of our local economy.

Others, like the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce, Greater Salisbury Committee, Wicomico's Economic Developer, SSU's Marketing spokesperson, Memo Diriker will try and paint a happy face on the condition of our local economy.

Thanks ED for giving-us a 'live shot' of our economy.

  6. A lot of local businesses are postponing or cancelling events. Some have hiring freeze while other have the ever-popular raise freeze. Makes me sure want to get out of bed going to work for the same amount of money I did last year as this year. Instead of our gov't investing in stupid automobile program, they should have invested that money in a cost of living increase for those who are legally working and busting their a$$es in the country.
