Let The Sun Shine In
Thank you Wicomico County Council!!! Special Thanks to Stevie Prettyman for making a motion at today's council meeting for a vote to hold night meetings. This vote will take place on Tuesday October 6th! Maybe, finially the council will allow for the transparency we all want in our government. So many people have expressed a desire for the county council to hold their meetings after work hours, so that folks can participate in what is proving to be very challenging economic time, in this county. We have a crisis with a huge budget shortfall and tax payers are concerned. They want to be a part of the discussion and maybe just maybe together we can work together on a solution.
If you can't come out for the vote on October 6th at 10am or even if you can; please call the council and urge them to vote yes for transparency. Ask them to vote yes for after work hour meetings!

Joe wow your site gets better every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the picture of the council. I printed it out.
Funny thing my one year old would not stop crying. Shr cried all day. I showed her the picture and she just stopped.
The only other thing that stops her crying is the video Dumb and Dumber.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm LOL
The seven stooges. See ya at the polls.
ReplyDeleteThnk you Joe or whoever got the council to see the light. It's Loooooooooooooooooooooooong over due to have evening meetings.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think we have a pretty good county council. They were a bit slow to respond to this but respond they did. Kudos to them!
ReplyDelete7:15-I second that.
ReplyDeleteThey are saints compared to the three gargoyles of the City Council.
ReplyDeleteI am all for giving this a try, but I truly don't think that night meeting matter and you will see what I mean after the 3rd meeting. Heck, just look at the city council meetings which are held at night.
ReplyDelete1038 good post
ReplyDeleteI have thought about this long and hard, I agree with you but I hope you are wrong. Personally, I think it gives me hope that there are three on the council who ARE being responsive.
We will get the government we deserve.
With issues such as revenue caps, speed cameras, salary cuts, furlows, property assessments, unemployment, crime, budget shortfalls, ect. believe me people will be engaged, especially in an election year. I hope the county does the right thing and allows the public access to these discussions and decisions.
