4:00 P.M. - SPECIAL MEETING

Refund request for fees paid related to board up/clean and lien/grass cuts
(304 Delaware Avenue) – Pam Oland

Joe, check this out. Conducting a real property search on this property reveals something interesting. A slum lord is asking for a refund or a waiver on his violations for the listed rental property he owns. Guess who this slum lord is. It is none other than Bob and John Cannon. That's right the John Cannon from the Wicomico County Council. Why should the tax payers foot the bill to clean up his rental property. Why should the city tax payers foot any bill by incompetent slum lords. This is something the tax payers and voters in the city of Salisbury need to keep their eyes on.

  1. How can this house only have sold for $7,450 ? And they will rent it for 300 or more a month. It is obscene. And how is appraised for $12,000 by the city near land that went for hundreds of thousands for the fire house?

  3. Why not do this at a regular meeting on PAC 14?

  4. I'll pay to have John Cannon's lawn mowed... as soon as he's done cutting my grass!

  5. Joe, can you move this back up the the top and rename it, Slumlord wants fines and fees back!

I don't care who the owner is, and it is possible the owner is in his rights on this matter for some reason, but here we are with salary freezes and an underfunded police department at a time when crime seems to be out of control. Unless the City absolutely has to give back this money for legal purposes, they should say NO!!!

I hope someone will follow up on this after attending the Council meeting with the facts.

  7. This is absolutely rediculous and should not be addressed at a work session. This should be addressed at a regular meeting or rejected ahead of time.

$300 a month?Try $500 or more and it is probably a sh*thole too.None of these Salisbury landlords would live in what they rent for what they charge.Part of the reason I moved away.

  10. A sh!t hole is exactly correct. Everything they own is filthy but you can't blame all of that on the Cannon Boy's it's the scumballs that rent from them too. You would be pissed off if you really knew the whole story with them though. Most of the properties they own are Section 8 meaning that you and I are footing the bill for the rent so yes we are already paying anyway. I think it's high time they clean up their own crap and keep it cleaned up.
