CHIEFY WEBSTER FALLS FLAT ON FACE – ONCE AGAIN!
Now that Jim Ireton has finally told Webster to stand down from his and his mentor’s effort to smear Debbie Campbell, we should consider the rumor mongering campaign that he and Barrie Tilghman have conducted with the assistance of the Daily Times.
Why has Webster not presented any actual evidence? Not only has he provided no contemporaneous reports about the so-called surveillance episode, Webster has offered nothing to show that there is/was a tape, much less that Ms. Campbell ever had or saw it. His claim that someone has knowledge of such a scenario has not been supported by any showing – an affidavit, for instance. And his failure to name any informant flies in the face of the release of messages between him and Barrie Tilghman that impugn Ms. Campbell without any foundation.
But the greater criticism falls on the Daily Times, which from the start has slanted its reporting to suggest that Ms. Campbell is implicated despite her prompt denial of allegations for which no evidence has been presented by her accusers. Even in its coverage of the Mayor’s intervention to stop the Webster-Barrie Tilghman witch hunt there’s this suggestion: “documents surfaced last week linking Campbell to a missing surveillance tape.” Those documents, it seems, are the Webster/Barrie correspondence and one that mentions that Ms. Campbell contacted the former police chief (Ed Guthrie) seeking information about the alleged tape after she was attacked by Chiefy and his cohort.
Let this serve as a strong message to Tilghman, Webster AND The Daily Times, who's in power now! My only advice to Ireton next time, (and there will be a next time) would be to stop these things dead in their tracks before they get any Press. Can you believe we're already saying, "Enough is Enough." Now go make me a samich.
"Fight Crime, Not Opinions."
Joe:
ReplyDeleteAnother BULLS-EYE!
Jim:
ReplyDeleteWay to go, but please fire Webster!
Barrie's having fits this morning
ReplyDeletePlease drop Dunn's photo -- it makes me sick.
ReplyDeleteWere the DT online comments too close to the mark, because they're all gone now, and no more comments are being taken.
ReplyDeleteGood going, Jim Ireton! Yes, it took too long. But Ireton called it what it is. Good for him!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post, Joe. The Daily Slime is just that -- slime reporting. This article did everything it could to keep the rumor mongering going.
What it really shows is this is all about Tilghman and Webster trying to "get back" at Debbie Campbell with Terry Cohen dragged into it for good measure.
Just like Barrie's final flip of the bird to Campbell and Cohen with her illegal health insurance cut.
The people who need investigating in my opinion are Tilghman and Webster!
But you'll never see that come out of that slimey newspaper and its hack reporters and editors.
Don't get mad, get even -- by not buying the Daily Times or cancelling subscription!
ReplyDeleteAnnon 9:44 Totally disagree, this had nothing to do with Mrs. Cohen.
ReplyDeleteThe bulls-eye was placed on Mrs. Campbells back. Thanks Jim Ireton for moving on.
Better late than never, but if Ireton had canned Webster on day 1 this would have never happened.
ReplyDeleteMayor:
ReplyDeleteDon't stop now -- a new broom sweeps clean!
Has anyone else heard that Webster is planning to run for sheriff of Somerset County next year? They can have him.
ReplyDeleteMAYOR IRETON...YOUR THE MAN I voted for and now I'm proud!
ReplyDeleteHe can't fire Webster without a council majority, but this is a good step in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteNow the Daily Times has removed evidence that there ever were any comments about the story.
ReplyDeleteJim this is a step, but only a step. Start running.
ReplyDeleteHe CAN fire Webster and let him sue the city. He can't win, Jim has more than enough cause to fire him. If Bubba, Lyin Louise and Simple Shields don't like it...TO BAD, SO SAD.
ReplyDeleteFolks:
ReplyDeleteCome to the next City Council meeting and demand that the 3 stooges support Jim Ireton when he fires Webster!
I put a curse on all three of them, Ive done my part. If they vote to get rid of this Webster the curse will be lifted.
ReplyDeleteNow go hide behind Barrie's skirt.
ReplyDeleteLook out liquor stores, Barrie will be restocking her Grey Goose today.
Good work, Ireton!
ReplyDeleteNow fire him for not doing his real job.
Any council member who supports Webster and his ridiculous witchunt needs to GO!
Good, keep the pressure on that spinless Mayor, he won't make a move without a public shove.
ReplyDeleteSo what if she had the tape. At least somebody is doing something to stop what goes on in the City. Webster sure isn't and his men could care less. Usually things sit dormant until a citizen or councilwoman takes the bull by the horn and dives in. The evidence is there. You just have to want to do something about it. Thats not the case in Salisbury and the Chief isn't looking. GETTER DUN DEB !
ReplyDeleteLaura Dellasandro and Joe Carmean should be out looking for news sources now that Barrie and her boy Webster got the smackdown. Didn't take long for Laura to become the same slime as she works for.
ReplyDeleteBye Bye Laura.
Poor little Al. I feel so bad for him. He just can't get those pesty little people to do what he wants. Weep, weep.
ReplyDelete11:07,
ReplyDeleteQuit your crying. Ireton has already done more for this city than Tighlman did in 10 years. Is he perfect? Nope. But he will get better as time goes on. Why don't you run for mayor since you are so tough?
Hell no, websters gotta go!
ReplyDeleteI commend the Mayor. It may seem late, but maybe he wanted to have all the information -- unlike the Daily Times which ran with each rumor as it came up.
ReplyDeleteDid any of you notice the "Guthrie letter" on the online article? This must be the "documentation" Webster gave Ireton on June 30 as per his previous leaked letter.
It's NOT a letter from Ed Guthrie. It's a memo. It's to Ireton. It's Webster telling Ireton what Livingston told Webster that Guthrie told Livingston.
Game of Grapevine anyone? This is what tax dollars are paying for in this crime infested town?
That alone is grounds to fire the man if you ask me.
Don't forget Lying Lauren is niece of Nancy Pelosi.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you all think would be an acceptable buy-out package for Webster & the city?
ReplyDeleteI thank the good Lord that Mayor Ireton finally reached up into the sky and grabbed a pair.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. Wonder why the Daily times has interrupted their comment section.
ReplyDeleteWOW what a change of tune in most voices.....This is just the first step of getting rid of the flunkies that riddle the City....Watch and see I bet this is not the first or the last of the steps of termination of quite a few of them
ReplyDeleteJim, let's change your name from Liarton to Fireton!! Wink, Wink!!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time that Jimbo reached down and realized he had some b@lls. I know Barries are bigger, but it is about time Jim did his job. From a voting tax payer to Jim, THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteAnnon 11:36 Ditto, could not agree more.
ReplyDeleteI have one question to ask. Why did Jim Ireton even have to step up to the plate and handle this?
ReplyDeleteWhy the hell do we have a city administrator then? That was John Picks job and Alan Webster answers to John Pick. Speaking of insubordination, John Pick should be charged with insubordination and handled appropriately.
RE: 9:59
ReplyDeleteWe in Somerset dont want him or need him-we have enough unsolved crime
The Daily Times is not accepting any comments. Citizens' comments are the pulse of the community, or at least some of it.
ReplyDeleteBuy him out, at least that way the lawyers dont get all the money. Buy HIM out.
ReplyDeleteThis way he can declare a victory because he got some money and didnt get fired. The citizens will be able to move forward with a new chief and start to work on all this crime and the Mayor can declare victory because hes doing what the people elected him to do. This way everyone wins to a degree, is it perfect, no. Is it the best way and the most efficient way, no. But at least it will be done.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely John Pick should be fired. He's about useless - Barrie's left over flunkie. Barrie's a@@ must be awfully big cause there were sure alot of them right up there.
ReplyDeleteConsider your sources when you read the Salisbury Times reporters. Isn't Laura Dellasandro a niece of Nancy Pelosi?
ReplyDeleteThe DT has posted a letter from Chiefy Webster to the Mayor about Livingston's (another jerk)conversation with Ed Guthrie. So, Webster are you trying to tarnish Guthrie by giving a copy of your letter the to the Slime? What an a$$.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what the chiefs annual salary is, and how long he still has on his contract?
ReplyDeleteBuy him out of what? He's not currently under a contract. His previous contract expired. Just let him go.
ReplyDeleteI did not know that. Then give him a package to resign.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly did Ireton do - Webster is still around and is contemplating running for Sherrif?? What sort of game is beeing played here people, wake up!
ReplyDeleteSomerset?
ReplyDeleteThe DT is accepting comments again on their anti- Campbell story... time to do our jobs again!
ReplyDeleteOn the DT, GoodnightCanada wrote (among other libelous things):
ReplyDelete"There is evidence out there that Campbell knows about this tape, and had it hand delivered to her by a current member of the SPD."
Evidence? Really? Really? Produce it then.
What these bobbleheads don't get is, without basis, you can't run an investigation.
Instead, you run what gets run in Salisbury: a witchunt!
Buy him into agreeing and be done with this guy for Gods sakes. Lord knows youve wasted money in worse places.
ReplyDeleteGiven the rumors that MD is one of JT's ghostwriters, the picture is perfectly appropriate.
ReplyDeleteWhats it gonna cost Webster? Sealed agreement, gag-order in place, over & done. Whats it gonna cost the good citizens to be rid of you? My what a legacy were building for ourselves, its time.
ReplyDeleteI personally believe it's Chiefy Webster himself or some of his friends putting up the comments suggesting the City buy him out of his contract to get rid of him.
ReplyDeleteThe man is toast and he knows it. He CANNOT afford to go to Court and this is his only way out because he knows he's out of a job.
Same kind of crap they pulled back when Barrie was still in Office as Mayor.
I'm not falling for your BS Chiefy. NICE TRY!
It says there are 13 comments on the story titled Ireton orders cease of Campbell inquiry. I can't get any of them to show. Have they been removed or do I need to tweak the firewall.
ReplyDeleteIf you use me without my permission its a deal breaker.
ReplyDeleteThis is a means to an end.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I thank the God of my understanding that we, the citizens of Salisbury, have you, who we depend on, to keep us informed. Keep up the good work,Joe! Many thanks!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting in and catching up. Wow! Good job, Mayor Ireton.
ReplyDeleteLove the idiots on the DT screaming "cover up"! Idiots, that's just it...there's NOTHING to cover up!
First Barrie tried to illegally cut Debbie's (and Terry's) health insurance. That plan got spoiled. So they tried to trump up ethics charges. Didn't succeed there either.
Didn't that Barrie clone Comegys then try to accuse Debbie of doing something illegal because she paid for her own insurance premiums? That failed.
Then the Chief accuses Campbell and Cohen of retaliation for doing their jobs. They've backed off Terry because they aren't getting traction there and Debbie is their real target.
Anyone see a pattern here? I feel like I'm watching an episode of "I Love Lucy," only the name of the show is really "Barrie Hates Debbie."
Somebody tell Barrie that NO ONE except her puppet clan buys this crap, and also,
HEY, BARRIE, YOU DON'T RUN SALISBURY ANYMORE! Go home and grow up.
Thank you, Mayor Ireton, for tellin' it like it is!
allen webster you are a total disgrace. please go away
ReplyDeleteI truly believe that Saisbury is on its path to redemption. May the hand of God be on Mayor Ireton.
