Stop For Traffic Violation Yields Loaded Handgun


Location: I-95 northbound at the Toll Plaza, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time: Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 1:46 p.m.

Suspect(s): Stephens Bernard Walker, 51, of Eutawville, South Carolina

On the above date and time, a Troop 6 patrol officer was on I-95 when he observed a 1991 Lincoln Town Car traveling northbound approaching the toll plaza. The vehicle came to a stop and then began to illegally back up. A traffic stop ensued and the officer made contact with the driver- Stephens Bernard Walker of South Carolina.

The Trooper conversed with Mr. Walker and obtained consent to search the Lincoln. A loaded Hi-Point Firearms Model C 9mm handgun was located on the floorboard behind the passenger’s seat. The weapon was within the immediate reach of the driver.

Mr. Walker was taken into custody and transported back to Troop 6 for processing. He was formally charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and released on a $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

    Dat's jus a damn shame. Jus saw his Crazy Eyed ass at da picnic las weekend. Talkin all kinds of trash about how smooth that Lincoln was. Of course he parked it so we couldn't see the hubcap missing on the passenger's side. That's Crazy Eye Walker for ya.
