The Other Side Of Cash For Clunkers

According to the Handsome, Cool and Charismatic Barack Hussein Obama, the Cash for Clunkers Program was a huge success. Perhaps did stimulate the economy for a short run. It did help The United Auto Workers, Obama’s G.M. and the car dealers.

However:

The Cash for Clunkers Program rewarded the car industry, yet again. Another THREE BILLION DOLAR BAILOUT for the United Auto Workers. THREE BILLION DOLLARS!!!!

To fund The Cash for Clunkers program, the Confused and Indecisive Obama administration initially re-appropriated one billion dollars from the 787-billion-dollar-dollar economic stimulus package launched February. When securing the $ 787 billion for the economic stimulus package, Barack Hussein Obama told us that every cent of the money was needed to cover critically important programs, upon which the very survival of our economic system depended. We are assuming the additional two billion dollars for the Cash for Clunkers Program will also come from the economic stimulus package. Here is the question: which critically important program will be cancelled now that it is being denied funding of three billion dollars? Not three thousand dollars, THREE BILLION DOLLARS!!!! Does Barack Hussein Obama no longer consider one his critical programs to be critical? Was the program he cancelled one of his many favors to campaign supporters, favors that have absolutely nothing to do with stimulating the economy? Whatever. Hard-working Americans will pick up the pieces.

A large percentage of the individuals who took advantage of the Cash for Clunkers Program are poor (sorry, I don’t use absurd terms like “economically disadvantaged”). Picture this: When the poor single mom drove her clunker into the car lot, she probably didn’t have a car payment. However, after experiencing the Cash for Clunker Program and leaving the lot with a new vehicle, she probably does. She will enjoy her fuel efficient upgrade until she finds herself unable to pay her new car payment. Who will pick up the pieces then? Has Barack Hussein Obama really helped her? Did Barack Hussein Obama place her in a vehicle she cannot afford? This sounds reminiscent of the housing debacle, caused by the NINJA loans forced on banks by Barack Hussein’s Obama’s ACORN and Clinton’s Community Reinvestment Act. Instead of giving securing homes for individuals that cannot afford them, Barack Hussein Obama is giving away the un-affordable car! It appears Liberals in Government are unable to learn by their mistakes. Whatever. Hard-working Americans will pick up the pieces.

Did you catch the Clintonesque Spin the other day? He child Obama is proud as punch that the Cash for Clunkers Program ran out of money in one week. He is too financially blind to recognize the obvious—that his administration couldn’t even manage correctly budget that program. This is terribly frightening, if you think about it. And he’s promising not to raise taxes with his New Canadian Health Care System?

The THREE BILLION DOLLARS just given to the auto industry could have been given to train more doctors and nurses to provide healthcare to the ten to forty (the actual figure is debatable) million individuals without Health Insurance (notice I did not say “without Health Care”; the uninsured in America receive far more care in our emergency rooms for free long before the average Canadian or English citizen receives his or her care in their National Health Care joke of a system. If you don’t believe me, look it up yourself. But please, don’t waste your time looking anything up on a moronic liberal website like MoveOn.org, the website that told you General Petraeus betrayed you and that we lost the war in Iraq.

Imagine, the THREE BILLION DOLLARS could have been spent on training doctors and nurses and providing the uninsured with $5K/year (average annual health insurance premium for an American family). And if it did fall short, Joe Soros and Oprah could flip the rest of the bill. I hold them responsible for the imbecile we have in the whitehouse.

Unfortunately, it appears that to Barack Hussein Obama, PAYING BACK THE UNITED AUTO WORKERS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PROVIDING HEALTH INSURANCE TO THE UNINSURED IN AMERICA.

  1. I posted this earlier, but I'd like to throw it in here too:

This program is absolute bullshit (pardon my language, but it belongs here) I went out a couple years ago and got a very nice USED "gas thrifty" full-size truck. I could have bought a more efficient small car, but I need the payload. I did, however, buy the most fuel efficient truck on the market at the time. The point is that I wanted it, I needed it, I bought it-you, my neighbors, my friends or complete strangers did not pay for it! This program would be like me going to the dealership and asking everybody I see to chip in on a car for me, would you chip in? Most certainly not!

Here are the problems that I see with this program:

    1. It uses my hard earned money that I could be using to pay off my own truck (if I had a payment because I was RESPONSIBLE and paid it off early!) to buy somebody else a car that has not EARNED it!

    2. It depreciates the money spent on these new cars. New cars at the WORST investment the majority of people can make! When you buy an new car for $20,000, the second you drive it off the lot it is worth no more than $15,000 if you're lucky!

    3. GM = Government Motors! Ever think about that one? The federal government is using your tax dollars to boost the sales of their own vehicles. Essentially, they are using our tax dollars to pay themselves back for bailing out GM. Now granted, some of this money is going to other car manufacturers as well, but do you really think that Honda, Toyota and even Ford (based on their numbers being up for July) need it right now? No, they have been doing the right thing the whole time!

    4. If you can't afford a vehicle, well...that is what public transportation is for! Maybe instead of this $1 billion (about to be $3 billion) on private vehicles, how about spending it on public transportation-something that EVERYBODY could uses and benefit from!? I applaud those people who can't afford a car that ride around on mopeds-perhaps the government should be handing out free mopeds! The government could have bought at least 5 mopeds for every $4,500 spend on a cash for clunkers vehicle! The government could have helped out 1.25 million people instead of a 1/4 million! Not to mention that those things get about 45+ mpg!

    5. Based on the 1/4 million people who have taken advantage of this program and the current estimated population of the U.S. of 304 Million people, approximately 0.08% of the total population has benefitted from this program while the remaining 99.92% pay for it! That is simply unfair! That 0.08% of the population DOES NOT DRIVE THIS ECONOMY!

    6. DRIVING IS A PRIVILEDGE, NOT A RIGHT! If you can't afford it, you can't drive...it's that simple! In addition, this program should have incorporated driving records and criminal background checks! I do not want my money going to road raged jerks or felons! Or if you were to take advantage of this program and later get a DWI or commit a serious crime you would be required to pay back the money. 1 out of every 10 people are convicted at least once of DWI-a 1/4 million people could yield 25, 000 DWI's -that's approximately $112,500,000 back to the goverment or this program! At lets face it, DWI could is more likely to be an issue with the type of people taking advantage of this program!

Like I said, this program is bullshit! To those driving around in MY cars, you're welcome!

  2. If the logic of this idiotic program were to be extrapolated, then; why don't we revert the rest of teh porkulus bill to more cash for clunkers. Divert the entire 690 billion dollars of teh bill that hasn't been spent yet for evry american to buy a new car.
It will cause all the assembly plants to back into full production, the fuel saving for American will be tremendous, and the air will get cleaner. Heck even the flowers will bloom.
It would be like a gift from my great grandchildren that will wind up paying for it!

  4. What about the millions of dollars in revenue the program will generate when the auto industry starts producing vehicles again? And the thousands of jobs that production will re-create? and how those workers can make payments on a new car IF...wait! they had a JOB.

Short sighted article. I bet you delete this comment.
