'In God We Trust' Won't Be Added To Florida City Logo

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Officials in Kissimmee, Fla., blocked an effort to add "In God We Trust" to the city logo, saying the campaign brought too much negative attention -- but a city commissioner vows to fight it.

Commissioner Art Otero proposed the idea because he believes the country is becoming too liberal on issues including homosexuality, abortion and marijuana.

Otero says he has plenty of support, and some residents may start a petition for a voter referendum.

The City Commission withdrew the possible change last week.

  4. They should remove it from anything that has to do with our government. It is a dangerous mix, we should take a lesson from the middle east.

  7. Our country was begun on christian principles, and God"s name is no stranger to our articles of confederation, Constitution, and others. In fact, I have found no founding papers without His Name.
