BREAKING NEWS: BANK OF DELMARVA ROBBED AT GUNPOINT

The Bank of Delmarva was just robbed in the branch on Eastern Shore Drive in Salisbury. An unknown amount of cash was taken.

Two black males wearing blue jeans and blue bandannas. One was armed with and old wooden style pirate handgun.

Last seen north bound on S. Division Street on foot. Spread the word and keep an eye out for two men fitting the above description.

UPDATE: We're told the Police are converging on a house on Mckinley Street (off south Division).

  1. Old wooden style pirate hangun - HAHA! I guess one had a black powder pistol. The bank needs to keep a shotgun behind the counter to deal with pirate attacks.

  9. I work at a bank that is in close proximity to this Bank of Delmarva branch and the PNC on Civic Ave that had the attempted robbery. Thank you, Joe, for providing the description of these robbers. The Daily Times had a 2 or 3 sentence article, with next to no information and WBOC's website has no information whatsoever. Its very important to get this information out there so other bankers, in particular, as well as the general public know who to be on the look out for. Again, thank you for doing that for us.

  13. Sounds like another typical day around Salisbury. I am so tired of the Hoodies/bandana guys walking around Salisbury stealing from anyone/anything. They need to just get a job rather than stealing....................
Oh no sorry. Obama will take care of them. Guess that is what they are thinking.

You're trying to blame Obama for a bank robbery in Salisbury.

  17. When is this madness of criminals taking over Salisbury going to end?

And don't say anything about the bad economy. Plenty of poor people around the Eastern Shore aren't robbing banks and convenience stores.

The moral decay of America continues to spread out from the big cities, I guess. What a shame.

You honestly think the crime here is coming from big cities?? You are clueless. The crime here stems from zero opportunities for ppl locally and a high poverty rate. Not to mention the lack of any crime solving and no progress to actually prevent crime. I've lived in the suburbs to huge metro areas and not seen this much crime. People here are lazy and ignorant to what the shore really is. How many unsolved crimes are there now? I can count 10 just this summer alone. We dont have the police force to prevent crimes, much less solve them. Typical local, blame the big bad city for all the problems. Criminals find the easiest target, the shore, with its backwards way of life, is an easy target.

  25. On any given day there must be 50 cops in the City of Salisbury, City, Sheriff, State, Campus, Natural Resources, cops off duty ,Fruitland/Delmar going to court etc... How do two thugs rob a bank and get away? Where's the communication between these agencies? Just a sign of things to come...

  26. To those of you making light of the "pirate gun" description, perhaps you might feel slightly different if it was someone you loved who had the gun shoved in her face! The description, as given to the police, was the best way to explain what the weapon looked like....at the time....when SAID WEAPON WAS POINTED IN THEIR FACES! What would you comedian wannabes have done in that situation?.....probably wet your pants! You morons need to get a life. Some things just aren't a joke, and you are not being funny.

  27. You've got to be joking ME, Citygoer. You are just making excuses for past, present, and future criminals by stating that they are a result of their "lack of opportunities."

Typical "I'm a social victim stance." Honest people do not turn into criminals. If this were the case, people would be taking food, clothing, and shelter. You know, thing's necessary for survival.

What Salisbury has is thugs who choose not to work, and live off the backs of others that do. No excuse for this.

Sounds to me like you should consider leaving the shore for whatever populated areas you think are not backwards, like us. We wouldn't want to inconvenience you with our lessor ways of thinking.

You are obviously suffering greatly, as a result of our way of life.

  28. I'm not making excuses. Salisbury does have thugs, I agree. But to say that all honest ppl cant be criminals is naive. Circumstances and your surroundings influence even the most honest ppl. Sometimes very negatively.

A police force that is understaffed, under paid with horrible morale, yet the city spends tons of taxpayer money on fire equipment and the city leaders deny time after time that crime is a problem. Crime continues to rise, murders go unsolved, crimes go unsolved and what happens, NOTHING. City and County police forces that cant seem to work together, numerous cover-ups and an entrenched good ol-boy network that runs nearly everything. I'm sorry but all of these things are due to lessor ways of thinking(backwards). It doesnt inconvenience me, its frustrating watching ppl who should be leaders doing nothing.
