The Salisbury Tea Party

Considering it was the 4th of July, I was amazed at the volume of people that turned out for this event. Hundreds of people came to the GOB sick and tired of where our Government is driving us.

The very peaceful gathering went on for hours while many got to speak their minds and we didn't see a single Goon from the SPD. Mind you, they may have been watching from a window above somewhere but all in all it was a nice gathering of people.

Were you there. Did you want to be there but were out of Town for the Holiday weekend?

  1. The SPD was there for awhile. One officer parked in an alley across the street and sat there for about 1/2hr-hr. We all had fun there. Hopefully something will come from the movement.

  3. Hundreds? More like dozens. I hope the elderly woman holding up the anti-socialized medicine sign refuses to take Medicare. Please.

  4. A very nice day. My guess is that at least 200 were there. I also saw the cop sitting in the alley.

  5. there were over 300 hundred at the salisbury Tea Party. there could have been more as it is hard to count with people coming and going, but we had at least just over 300 people. have to love the people bashing true Americans. they can be left behind and let the real leaders, real Americans take us back to our roots, back to the Constitution.

  7. I heard a speaker say somehting about someone locally running for office, and was told he was doing it as an independent. I was told he was one of the main organizers. if so, he, or she needs to get their name out there now and get support, running as an independent is difficult, but there is an opportunity our there now.

  8. We counted about 300 folks over the course of 3 hours. The real patriots were there speaking out and standing up for america and our constitutional rights. God Bless America!

  10. Socialized medicein: something other peopel pay for and helps ration healthcare for other people. Socialized medice has NEVER worked, neither has SOCIALISM!!!!!!!
Long live our Constitution, down with tyranny, God Bless those who make a stand and do something....for if they do not, we all will suffer..

  12. LMAO, SPD Goon Officer!

Or should I say JT or JR?

First of all, IF you were a SPD Officer you'd know who I was talking about.

Besides Folks, NO OFFICER would EVER make a remark like, "hope you are obeying all the laws while your in town!!"

    Nice try JT or JR.

  13. Kudos to the patriot who spoke who had a "fire in his belly"! He had the courage to remind all of us this great country was founded by Christians, and we'd better get back on track.

  14. 11:45 Like the insurance companies don't ration health care. The difference is that they take a hefty profit first then there is even less to spend on actual health care.

  15. I've got news for you 12:32, this country wasn't founded by Christians...it was stolen by the white man. Read your history

  16. 11:45 This were limited thinking is problematic. Unlike socialized/national health care, if you don't like you insurance company provider, you can CHOOSE another. The real issues with health care costs today is the abuse of frivious law suits, this causes doctors to run all kinds of unnessesary tests and insurance companies to limit what they will cover. Illegal imigration is bankrupting hospitals, just look at California. We already know that the government can't run a medical program (or much else) without bankrupting it. One need to look no further than Medicare. Not to mention the bailouts that didn't work. Simply put there's no money to hand your soul over to your government even if it's something you want to do.

Ever seen or bothered to learn about Europe or Canadas healthcare that is rationed. Do not sit here and bi___ about a profit. When one profits all do, when government profits, all suffer. You have NO clue!!!

You do not understand history, if you make it up, then you are right, otherwise, God help you and the other diiots spreading lies about Americas history.

Enough with the Anti-Americanism in America!!

  21. We have very few real leaders in DC and in government. it is easy to sit behind a computer and type under no name, but it is difficult and takes stones to get up and do something about what is going on. For those standing up and doing somehting, God Bless You, join me and lets give liberty back to Maryland and our country. For those sitting behind a computer typing and think you make a difference, those with courage will save your god given rights.

  22. 2:03....what does your history book say about those who were here before Columbus....before the Pilgrims. Not lies...facts. Read a real history book. Try this one;

The Peoples History of the United States of America, by Howard Zinn.

    Your history books are twisted.

  23. it is easy to sit back, blame everythign on capitalism while other countries are becoming more republic, capitalist and cutting taxes. we complain about so much yet have had it so easy cmpared to toher countries. it is simple, stand up for liberty, freedom, our consitution and the generations to come, or sit back, do nothing and alow our children to ask why we stood by and let their lives sufer.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Chris,

I stand up for liberty, freedom, and our Constitution. And so do millions of people just like me.

And we don't agree with the message in your tea parties.

But we don't denigrate you, call ourselves the only "real" Patriots, or claim that you are all fools that don't believe in freedom, Democracy or Liberty.

So why do you do that to us? Can we disagree without impugning each other's Patriotism and love for our country? You don't own Patriotism.

    2:03,

Your attitude is why you lost the last election. Keep it up, and you'll lose the next one, too.

if you stand for Liberty, join me in running against Kratovil. I am a fedealist, states rights. We are now a bottom down country as far as government, we should be a bottom up.........our answers lie in the constitution, freedom and liberty!

    Chris Lewis

  26. Chris,

I think Frank Kratovil is doing a great job representing the people of the Eastern Shore. And, standing for Liberty, I will continue to support him. I haven't seen a better candidate come along yet. If you're throwing your hat into the ring, I'd be interested in hearing your stance on the issues, though. Do you have a web site outlining them? Literature?

Also, I don't believe anything has fundamentally changed in our government. We still vote in our Representatives, and, if we don't like what they're doing, we vote them out in 2 years. 4 for President and 6 for the Senate.

Either way, Democracy worked last year, and it will work in the future. This is the United States, and the Constitution is still being followed.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Chris,

It is just as easy to blame everything on socialism and to claim the other guys are not real patriots. Better watch a tape of the Harris/Kratovil debate last year if you are thinking of running. More power to you for being willing to do it, but my advice to you would be to run FOR something, not AGAINST someone.

Chuck, Millions of Patriots that disagree with the constitution or the socialization of the country? Which is it?

  29. sorry, 5:32, but these tea parties aren't about Socialism or the Constitution. They are about hating Barack Obama.

If you cared about the Constitution, did you hold a tea party when George Bush suspended habeas corpus? Where was the tea party when he conducted warrantless wiretapping of American citizens? Tortured people? Invaded Iraq with a declaration of War from Congress?

As for Socialism, where were you when Bush bought controlling interest in all of those investment banks? How about the prescription drug bill that passed?

I don't remember tea parties then. I've only seen them while Barack Obama has been our President.

So, stop insulting all of our intelligences, and just admit what this is really all about: Hating Barack Obama.

And millions of Patriots disagree with you on that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 5:32,

Millions of patriots disagree with YOUR interpretation of the Constitution.

  31. Medicare is not the only form of socialized medicine-lets not forget MedicAID.In California it covered all the costs of "octomom" her babies but middle class Americans are losing everything they worked for because of high medical bills.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Exactly, bluto. The upper class have health care. The lower class have health care. But what about the middle class? What about the middle class woman who loses her job because she's got cancer, and loses her health insurance with her job?

As for Octomom, the doctors who did the in vitro for her should be fined the cost to the taxpayers for 8 children over the course of 18 years. That was irresponsible.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Chuck you can't argue my posiion when you don't know what it is!

The constitution has interpretation? Well please do educate us on what ammedment you are referring to and what you mean.

    This ought to be good.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I find it amusing that you assume this self-righteous posture, 10:23 when you post on a blog that has the tags "america haters" and "racism" on a post about the tea party.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 7:46,

Well, if you read the post, then you would know why it had those tags. Also, I didn't post it. So, when you try to imply something in the future, make sure you put it in context properly. Otherwise, you're being dishonest. And I think you know that.

    2:25,

I didn't argue your position. I asked you if you were out, for the last years, tea bagging over George W. Bush's "socialist" and "anti-Constitution" policies. Were you? It's a simple question.

And, of COURSE the Constitution is open to interpretation. I'll give you a plain example: According to the 1954 Executive Powers Act, the President can commit troops to combat without a Declaration of War. However, the Constitution EXPLICITLY states that a D.O.W. is necessary. Do you think the Iraq war was legal? According to some it was, and according to others it wasn't. It depends on your "interpretation" of that part of the Constitution. In fact, there's a whole court dedicated to stuff like this... can you guess the name?
