What did YOU think of the display of Congressman Frank Kratovil hung in effigy?

  1. Childish! If the shoe was on the other foot how would you feel. The majority voted for him and the remainder of us should support the office. He is one of our elected officials and should be respected. We might not agree but we can show respect.

Obama and his cohorts -- Pelosi, Reed, Hoyer -- are trying to push it thru before the August recess after all (don't believe what they are saying about not until after the recess).

  3. Kratovil has not earned anyone's respect, except that of special interest groups.

  4. it's covered under 1st ammendment. effigy hangings have been done for years. it's going to take a strong message to get the point across. get yer panties out of bunch

  5. The guy has a right to express his opinion, but we have a right to call him an idiot. It's a ridiculous, stupid thing to do and I find it difficult to see how anyone could think it is either appropriate or wise.

Aside from the completely offensive manner of the effigy, did he really think it would win people over to the anti-Obamacare side? As moderates see this buffoon and associate him with conservatives, it just makes it harder and harder to convince people that those of us who oppose this health care "reform" are correct.

He was wrong to do this both morally and politically.

  6. Kinda tasteless but it seems obvious his constiuancy doesn't care for his voting record. I think they made that pretty clear. He may take a ton of money from the special interests but that isn't halping him make friends of the people he serves.

  7. Very poor taste. We dont need Obama's health plan . It will finish us as the partly free country we live in

  8. It was idiotic.

I support Kratovil voting for the health care bill, by the way! I voted for him in the election, and I will vote for him again if he runs.

  9. Personnaly I would not do it, however it is this persons right to do so. I recall Pres. Bush was hung in effigy and I think McCain was also hung in Effigy in the last election by somone in Ca.

I think Kratovil is small potatoes so it really doesn't bother me at all. I think in the next presidential election someone will hang Obama in effigy and then the crap will really hit the fan.

  10. I was at the protest, and stood away from it... didn't know exactly what to think. After all, I don't want to hang the man, but there were some really p.o.'d people there about the cap and Trade b.s. "I know what's good for you better than you do". Maybe we could "hang" him in effigy for that; after all, there went more jobs that we'll never see again.
Maybe the strong statement should be made now to stop him from further trampling on our rights. After all, if he votes for the bill, he's voting me an earlier death. So I'm okay with the effigy.

  11. Do you think its worse than some of the things our children watch on T.V.?

  12. These days you have to go over the top to get people's attention.

  13. It's "hanged" in effigy. The past tense of a hanging is "hanged".

  14. It was tasteless and lowers the level of discourse.

  15. Makes him and anyone present at the rally look like buffoons.

  16. Everybody knows you cant hang a white man. There is another politician more suitable for an effigy, guess who.

  17. That guy is an idiot! How will doing stuff like that actually help us? He just guaranteed Kratovil a yes vote on the obamacare and branded all conservatives as wackos. Thanks Moron...

  18. Don't worry I'm not voting on this bill.

  20. Now we need to build the Gallows and finish off the rest of the Blue Dogs that just voted for the health care massacre

  21. There's not enough rope in DC to hang them ALL!

  22. It was stupid, childish and typical of the Republicans who are such poor losers, always trying to incite the ingnorant and uneducated with fear and lies.

This Patrick Samuels (it that's his real name,) did nothing more than give our community a black eye.

  23. Actually would rather see this than what that idiot girl in OC was attempting to do in the middle of the street - burn the flag!!

  24. I think it was tasteless. I also completely understand this guys first amendment right to do this. Thirdly, I realize that two tasteless exhibitions make two tasteless exhibitions, nothing more. Having said all that, I have to illustrate the McCain and Palin were both hanged in effigy last year and these hangings were celebrated by the liberal media and activists as the proper expression of free speech. Funny how they see it kinda different now that it's a lefty on the hook, isn't it?

  25. The guy has stated publically, he's not a republican.

did you say the same about the Palin effigy that was hanged in a tree? I can answer that... NOPE!!

  27. 5:42 -- Since Patrick Samuels has said he's not a Republican or affiliated with Americans for Prosperity, unlike what has been said today all over the liberal blogosphere, I'd be careful about pointing fingers to Republicans about "fear and lies." Democrats love to be able to point to Samuels and say he represents the Republicans or AFP when, in truth, he does neither.

Samuels represents himself. He certainly doesn't represent the Republican Party or any other organization. To try and say otherwise is to willfully ignore the facts of the situation.

  28. No one seemed to make a big deal out of the black panthers displaying night sticks at the election polls in order to intimidate conservative voters. The effigh display was no big deal, the liberals have done much worse with no repercussion whatsoever. Conservatives had better wake up and stand up for what they believe in NOW, or it will soon be to late.

  30. While it did not bother me personally and I fully support the 1st Amendment rights of anyone to protest legally,it WAS very distasteful.Whatever happened to protest signs and sit-ins?

  31. Kratovil will now get so much money for his next campaign, thanks to the fool.

  32. Peek A Boo JT, we see you! What an Idiot!

  33. I'm with Totmom, I thought it was in poor taste. Got his 15 minutes of fame.

LoL and I thought my Micheal Vick comment was over the top.

  34. I think it was appropriate!!!

  35. To all you bringing up the Palin effigy, there were Obama effigies, too, and you can imagine the image that conjured up.

It's free speech. It's also NOT the time of the American Revolution, but a time when anthrax is sent to elected officials, buildings are blown up and people get shot down in offices. Hell, you've got JT's people over there hoping Webster "goes after" Campbell, Cohen and their families. Is that what you want? People "going after" officials? Be careful the violence you wish for.

What gets me about this effigy stuff...some people do stupid things like this because think pushing that envelope looks like a "cool" expression of free speech.

Just looks like "angry mob" to me. There's a time for things like effigies. But a vote or two taken in a democratic system by a freshman representative? Get a grip.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It IS an angry mob!! Stop spending our money and raising our taxes!!!
