It can be done from the City’s website – http://www.ci.salisbury.md.us/ – but don’t bother clicking the "City Government" link on the home page because the drop down list has no entry for the mayor, but just the City Council, for whatever reason. Instead, in the left ("Navigation") column click the "Message from the Mayor" link, which opens a page that has a link to send messages to the mayor near the top of the center column ("Information from the Mayor").
While many have tried to reach the mayor by telephone unsuccessfully, this method is your last resort. Do let us know if you were successful or not. Mr. Ireton should always keep the following in mind. I started Salisbury News because the former mayor refused to answer my e-mail. Is the next Joe Albero lingering out there ready to start yet another Blog against a Salisbury Mayor?
Uh, major point here--lots of the Mayor's constituents don't have computer access to email him. He should answer his darn phone!!! He's the Mayor now and he listed in the phone book--get a grip, Jimmy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone else brought this up. There are so many people who do not have a computer and cannot afford one but they do have a telephone so yes, Jim Ireton, answer your darn phone once in a while and talk to the people who put you in office. And remember, your office IS bigger than Webster's and it's time to let him know that.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the next one will choose a differant path.
ReplyDeleteBeware!
ReplyDeleteSince those e-mails are probably scanned by Pick and others, any important messages will be read by Comegys and Smith as soon as they are received in City Hall, and then sent to Jonathan Taylor on a selective basis.
Ireton should have a "private" telephone number posted on the home page of the City's website. And he should start returning calls.
Earth to Ireton--answer your phone!
ReplyDeleteIt's these simple things that are basic to citizens. It is NOT about what is most convenient for YOU--it is about the citizens.
You're missin' the boat on this email thing.....answer your phone.
Ireton returns hundreds of calls per day. If he's not returning your calls, maybe you should find out if he's getting your messages. Remember, he's surrounded by Tilghman's handpicked henchmen.
ReplyDelete10:15 AM -Oh, how right you are.
ReplyDeleteMr. Ireton,
ReplyDeleteWe elected you to protect us from those in our community who have run rough-shod over our us. If you are being intimidated as the Mayor, please let us know. The public can protect you. You cannot keep intimidation private. You have a responsibility to let us know what is happening behind closed doors.
Yes, Jim you do need to have a diect line, so the citizens that elected yyou can have a say in your progress toward" Help is on the Way".

ReplyDeleteAre you saying the Mayor of Salisbury is being intimidated to leave the Cheif in power? If so, who would do this? How would they do it? I don't understand.
If he answered his own phone how in the world would he get anything done, someone is not thinking clearly here.
