I received numerous calls on Sunday from concerned people at the Court Plaza referencing work being done on a Sunday claiming John Robinson may have been working without a permit to replace signs and allegedly changing the colors on the signs in Court Plaza.
The County is pretty strict on these kind of things and we'll be checking in with the County to see if permits were in fact issued for them to replace the signs. I spoke with a representative from the Light House Restaurant who informed me that many of the tenants were complaining about kids skateboarding around the parking lot and almost getting hit by cars pulling out of their spaces and or being hit by skateboarders riding on the sidewalks as they left the hair salon and other places of business there.
While it was a good thing for Robinson to do what he can to help children have a place to go, the Court Plaza, (IMHO) was about the dumbest place anyone could ever think of to do something like this. The Landlord has to be sweating bullets in fear of lawsuits from parents should their child get hurt in her parking lot.
We'll let you know on the permit issues with Wicomico County some time later today. It is pretty strange they chose to go into work and create the signs today and install them on a Sunday but you do have to consider who they're working with in the first place.
Wow you have to have a permit to change a sign...they nickle and dime you to death in this city.
ReplyDeleteI work in the court Plaza, and the rules are.No Skating on sidewalks,or parking lot Just the designated area that Mr. Robinson has fenced off. But all day long Skaters are going in all directions including Mr. Robinson Himself.
