The Sonic Boom In Fruitland

The new Sonic in Fruitland is packing them in like there's no tomorrow. To me, this is a fun and exciting new business brought to our area and my hope is that they continue to stay this successful for many years to come. I'll be stopping in to try out their food and report back to everyone referencing the service and quality. I'm sure many of you have tried it, what did you think?

  10. We went the other nite for banana splits. It was fun. The service was excelent. The place reminded me of 45 years go when I worked at one similar, the Stardust, when life was more simple.

  12. I've never been to one but looks like a great place to host a local hot rod cruise night.

  13. Tastee Freeze is horrible!! Service is awful, and very slow, and they always get orders wrong.
Sonic is WONDERFUL! Great onion rings, hot dogs, and slushies! The parking lot is awful, though. Who planned that?

  16. You might want to double check, but I was told (by a friend of a girl that works there) that the employees only make about $3.50/hr because they are expected to get tips. But then I was told that there is a sign that states tipping is not necessary.

I don't know about everybody else, but I considered this a fast-food place and did not tip when I went, jsut like I don't tip at McDonalds.

  17. Chains dont care about their employees, their sheep to them. All chains care about is the bottom line,PROFIT. I think there is room for both.

  18. We went by on Saturday. There were 4 cars parked side by side with nobody in them. They were at the parking spaces you order from, rather than the regular spots. There was a group sitting at the tables. Clearly some people don't get the whole ordering from your car idea. Here's your sign!

How do we know that it's not a locally owned franchise? you yourself stated that you don't know where its from. Ignorance. The establishment provides jobs to locals, that can't be outsourced to another country or area of THIS country, thats enough for me.

  20. Provides jobs, if you call those jobs I quess your right. What is the definition of jobs partner, since Im so damn ignorant why dont you try to enlighten me.

  21. Lets see minimum wage, no health insurance, no pention, no future, Where do you sign up for that job its gotta be going like hot cakes.

  22. Tip your car hop!

  24. Checkers opens soon, the business will move north.

  26. Hey its a job!! Or rather they can sit at home n collect unemployment like half of the world has 2 do!! No matter pension, insurance or bonuses! A job is a job and when you need 1 you will take anything!! No i dont work there either! Plus for some high school grads it might b good for them!

  28. More garbage food to poison your body. We get more and more fast food and get sicker and sicker. I swear we were better off when everyone ate good food at home and smoked.

Even though its a chain restaurant, it's stilled owned by someone LOCALLY. ass.

  30. Who owns it, and no cussing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Go to Tasty-Freeze and get carjacked.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Very good for fast food.

  33. Carhops get paid $4.50 per hour plus tips - so please tip them!

  34. i used to go to taste freeze but the food actually does suck, thats why i dont go there anymore, if the food was good i would go because its closer to me, however i will drive a little further and pay a little more for good food. taste freeze you need better quality food and good service, they both suck. I've been to sonic across the coast and i havent been to one yet that hasn't been very good. The way manfucturing has been leaving this country most of us may have to take what ever jobs we can get, Salisbury sure isn't doing much to bring in any new jobs that pay well. In this recession a job is a job even if it doesnt have benefits. Ive also been to checkers i like it too.

  35. The address for Sonic is 415 N Fruitland Blvd, and the property tax records for MD have that listed to Rinnier Development out of Salisbury, MD.

  36. That Sonic is a franchise - meaning that the owner purchased the right to open the business from Sonic - it is not a corporate Sonic. Doesn't that make it 'locally' owned? The
franchise owner lives in Wicomico County.

  37. 6:17...you could not be more wrong. The Franchisee is from Baltimore and owns the area development agreement there. He is also building the Sonic on Rt 50 in Easton next to Dunkin Donuts.

The Franchisee at T's Corner had the right to Salisbury but passed on it so the guy from Balitmore picked it up.

I am a personal friend of the General contractor ( Peak Contracting from Hunt Valley Maryland) and have it first hand.

Rinnier may own the land parcel..it is common for these kinds of operations to enter into land leases.
