Man, This is just common sence. You have to stand in line to get a drivers lience. I doutb that the goverment will do much better when it comes to livers or heart transplants.
Is Andy Harris even working PRMC yet? The Fox guy made is sound like he has been at it for some time, and thus we all should accept that Mr. Harris has special insight on rural health care. I think that this whole thing of PRMC is just a way to pick up a few more votes next time. Hope he just stays in Baltimore. I don't trust the guy.
You don't trust the guy? You have to be kidding. So you trust a LAWYER and career politician MORE? That's pretty funny! He IS working there and he is a good guy, I was a skeptic before but after studying the guys voting record I can tell you we need him and he is going to do more than K-vil. Tell you what, do a little bit of research and get back to me, since Kratervil has been in office, how many bills has he introduced and what have they been on, now look up Andy's record. Yeah, that's what I thought.
You don't trust him, hey Joe look, it's one of Kratovil's aides posting on here!
4:18 No Kratovil aid here, just a good ol' Eastern Shoreman who knows when someone is trying to put something on me. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Anon 3:53
I've worked at a rural and big city hospital. I've also worked at PRMC. Trust me when I say PRMC is no rural hospital, it's on par with suburban hospitals in Philly and NYC. If Mr. Harris wanted to go work at a rural Hospital in Maryland he should've headed to Cumberland, oh I forgot he isn't trying for the Congressional seat in that district. Maybe Pipkin was right: Would you trust your Doctor to balance your checkbook?
PS, I'm sure Mr harris won't be able to get any work done since I'm sure PRMC hospital admin will be kissing his behind the entire he's working, just telling him how great it is he's working there. Plus don't forget he's working for the Florida group that kicked our "LOCAL" Doctors out of a job.
Let me speak on Canadian healthcare from my own personal experience. I'm an American Citizen, born raised and lived here my entire life. I work and have insurance from my employer. I vacationed in Canada 4 years ago and I didn't buy an insurance term policy for my visit. Well three days into vacation while bike riding, I completely tore my ACL. I terrified, I heard all the horror stories of Canadian Medicine. I didn't wanna go, but the pain was too great and I couldn't walk. So my party drove my to the local hospital where I was expecting a long line and a long wait. It was a Friday night, the busiest night of the week. I told the nurse what happen and that I was a US national. Again, I was expecting a long wait, I watch Fox News, they say you'll die in the waiting room. I was shocked when I was taken right back. Within 15 minutes I had a CT scan, then 15 minutes after that I had an MRI on a 5 Tesla magnet machine. Within an hour and a half, the Doctor came in and gave me the News, total ACL tear. I said well drug me up and give me a copy of my films so I can go back to Salisbury, Maryland to have surgery. He asked why? Did I have something important to do? I said "Don't you have to wait 6 months to have that surgery?" He said "You must watch Fox News!!!"He said if I wanted I could have surgery in the morning. I then told him i had no insurance for Canada, he said don't worry, Canada will work something out with our State Department and my employer insurance.
Well fast forward, I had surgery and returned to the States waiting for my bill which I got in a weeks time. Total cost for the surgery, $0.00 CA. The only time I had to pay for the surgery was when I went to the local ortho docs for the follow up, and I had to pay $700 out of pocket after my what my insurance picked up.
So all of the news you hear about waiting and dying in Canada is BS. Unless YOU, and I mean YOU, have a personal experience with it then there is nothing you can say about it. Those wait times they talk about are for the Canadian hillbillies who refuse to travel to the big cities for treatment, and in that case they have to wait for the Specialist to come to them, hence the 6-8 month wait for surgery.
I've met Andy. I've met his family. The guy has a great career without going into politics. He's the real deal and we at PRMC are lucky to have him. Some people just don't know a gift horse.
Ok first of all, I'll stop just short of calling you a liar because your story could be true, but I doubt it, I won't bore you with the details but a good friend of mine is Canadian, and when he needed cancer treatment they didnt go to the local Toronto Hospital, they went to the United States. So look, I'm not calling you a liar, I'm stopping just short of that, but I do know that what I am saying is fact. They could NOT get the LEVEL of care in Canada that they could in the US.
You sign in as Anonymous and do the whole "well my friend is Canadian" bit, and you have the balls to call me a liar. So your "Friend" didn't wanna go to The Rogers Institute for Cancer in Toronto, you know the one that world renowed for Cancer Treatment. Rogers beats Hopkins in most surveys, but you know what that your "Friends" preference to were they want treatment.
Since you don't believe my store how about this. I have an MRI on Friday July 3rd. We'll meet in the outpatient lobby at 10 am. I'll be there with my CT and MRI film and the bill I got, and you can call me a liar to my face. By the way bring your Canadian friend with you and can you have them pick up a box of Tim Hortons, hell I'll even pay $100 for them
