Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


On June 26, 2009 at approximately 9:41 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Boscovs Departent Store at the Centre at Salisbury for the report of two (2) shoplifters. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that employees of the business had observed the below two (2) suspects taking clothing from the store without making any attempts to pay for the clothing. When stopped, the suspects were also found to have property stolen from the Spencer Gifts Store. The property was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED #1: Shauntey Nicole Singletary, 20 years of age Seaford, Delaware

ARRESTED #2: Heather Lynn Christopher, 20 years of age Seaford, Delaware

CHARGES (both):
Theft (under $ 500)
Theft (under # 100) (2 counts)

DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking CC # 200900022436

On June 26, 2009 at approximately 11:55 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on patrol in the area of South Division St. and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. During the traffic stop the driver was observed moving suspiciously within the vehicle. A K-9 was requested and responded from the Maryland State Police and made a positive indication on the vehicle for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. The vehicle was checked and the officers located a quantity of suspected marijuana in the vehicle.

ARRESTED: Michael Anthony Wood, 20 years of age Georgetown, Delaware

CHARGES:
Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia
Obstructing and hindering an investigation

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900022459

On June 27, 2009 at approximately 5:31 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to an intrusion alarm at the Delmarva Pharmacy on Belmont Avenue. Upon arrival the officers observed the below listed suspect exiting the business. The suspect was arrested and was found to be in possession of a quantity of medication taken from the business. A check of the business revealed that while in the business the suspect damaged equipment and property of the business. When arrested, the suspect was found to be in possession of a knife.

ARRESTED: Richard William Khanna, 49 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Second degree burglary
Fourth degree burglary
Malicious destruction of property
Possession of burglary tools
Theft (under $ 500)
Possession of a dangerous and deadly weapon

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900022495

On June 27, 2009 at approximately 2:09 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on Pearl Street for the report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officers met with the victim who advised that a suspect, known to the victim, had taken the victim’s vehicle keys and had taken the victim’s vehicle without permission. Salisbury officers located the stolen vehicle within minutes and placed the below listed suspect under arrest. The suspect was also found to be driving on a revoked and suspended driving license. The vehicle was returned to the owner.

CHARGES:
Theft of a motor vehicle
Theft (over $ 500)

  1. I hope they keep the person who was caught robbing Delmarva Pharmacy. They are nice people & been robbed several times already. Keep these robbing thugs in jail.
