Haze doesn't hamper Air Show
"OCEAN CITY -- The big crowds were there, but the weather didn't comply on the first day of the OC Air Show as hazy skies and low visibility led to the suspension of Saturday's marquee aircraft performances."

Now the title says the haze didn't hamper the show, yet it led to the suspension of the show. You people PAY for that paper?
I was there from about 1PM to 430 and nothing happened. As we left the thunderbirds had ben pushed back to 5PM but you knew it wasnt going to happen. It was mobbed and the merchants had to be happy. Better weather next year is all we can hope for. And no, I dont pay for THAT paper anymore.
ReplyDeleteI went as well. Good show from noon till about 1:30. My little one was excited about the SEALS and the F-16 and the others we saw. We were bummed that the rest of the show had been suspended and ultimately cancelled. So, the title is wrong. It definitely did hamper the show - half way through.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the first headline snafu, and it won't be the last. But you're quoting from their free website, so I guess paying for it is moot.
ReplyDeleteI did comment to my wife that it was one of the dumbest headlines I had ever seen. Says one thing and then in the first paragraph says just the opposite.
ReplyDeleteNot me, buddy. I get my news right here!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of really, really bad local journalism. I arrived home from work yesterday hoping to wach baseball and golf on FOX and WBOC repectively. I was watching about 15 minutes when the WBOC weather moron broke into programmingof both channels to annouce that there was a tornado warning. Fair enough, even though it had been scrawling on the screen prior to his breaking in. He proceeded to fear monger on live tv telling everyone to hide in there bathrooms or face certain doom. This continued for at least 10 minutes till I could no longer stand it and turned on ESPN. Of course, there was no tornado. He should be fired
ReplyDeleteYesterday I picked up a copy of DT at the store and it actually had the date printed as "July 13,2009" right there on the front page!
ReplyDeleteWTH? Thats what I call a HUGE error!
i was reading the headline myself wondering what airshow did they go to ion OC yesterday....better yet, what are they smoking?
