Incident: Child Abuse
Date of Incident: 25 May 2009
Location: 4300 block of Elk Creek Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Damon A. Truzerls, 35, Salisbury, MD


Narrative: On 25 May 2009 at 9:20 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported altercation between a father and a daughter in the 4300 block of Elk Creek Drive in Salisbury. Upon their arrival, they located a female subject who suffered from bruises and was also found to be bleeding from her ear. During the investigation, it was determined that the injuries were inflicted by Damon Truzerls, the father of the victim.


Damon Truzerls was placed under arrest and transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Truzerls in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Assault 2nd Degree



Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 24 May 2009
Location: 11329 San Domingo Road, Mardela Springs, MD
Suspect: juvenile, 16 YOA, Mardela Springs, MD


Narrative: On 24 May 2009 at 2:15 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential youth facility in the 11300 block of San Domingo Road in Mardela Springs for a reported altercation. Upon the arrival of the deputy, it was discovered that what began as a verbal altercation escalated to a physical one when one resident attacked another.
The aggressor juvenile was charged on a juvenile referral which requests that that the Department of Juvenile Services handles this incident. The offending juvenile was released to the custody of the facility pending court action.

Incident: Possession of Marijuana
Date of Incident: 23 May 2009
Location: 7200 block of Main Street, Willards, MD
Suspect: 1. Gaje W. Darby, 18, Galestown, MD
2. Juvenile, 14 YOA, Snow Hill, MD


Narrative: On 23May 2009 at 12:24 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Gaje Darby during the investigation of alleged drug activity. While the vehicle was stopped, a WCSO Drug K9 team responded to scan the vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. During that scan, the K9 alerted to that odor. Upon searching the vehicle, the deputy located marijuana, a smoking device and other paraphernalia.
Both Darby and his 14 YOA passenger were placed under arrest. Darby was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Darby was released by the Commissioner on Personal Recognizance.
The 14 YOA juvenile was detained by Juvenile Authorities in the Lower Shore Children’s Center.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
