LOCATION: W/B US Rt 50 at ramp to US Rt 13 N, Salisbury, Wicomico Co. MD
BRIEF RESUME:
On above date and time Troopers with the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to the above location for a reported motor vehicle collision. The collision occurred when the driver of Veh #1 attempted to take the ramp to the Northbound Salisbury Bypass and failed to yield right-of-way, entering the path of Veh #2 which was traveling W/B on US Rt. 50. As a result of the collision, W/B Rt 50 was temporarily closed at the ramp to aide in the assistance of EMS personnel who transported both drivers to PRMC where they were treated for minor injuries. The driver of Veh #1 was charged with failing to yield right-of-way.
Driver #1: Philip Glen Massey, age 52, of Berlin MD.
Veh #1: 2002 GMC Pickup
Driver #2: Pamela Taylor Miller, age 49, of Bethel DE.
Veh #2: 2003 Honda SUV

ReplyDeleteIt's only a matter to time before someone gets killed trying to cross Rt. 50 to get on the bypass. They should have left the "clover leaves" alone. Then you wouldn't be having to cross 2 lanes of traffic. Glad everyone was OK.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anon12:58. Dumbest thing they ever did was remove the ramps i.e. cloverleafs. The ramps are still there and they need to be opened. How many have got to be killed or injured there before somebody uses a little common sense and realizes it much safer using the ramps then having to cross the traveled part of one of the busiest roads in Maryland. Its not only the safety concern but it is not unusual to have to sit in a long line of traffic becaues a big truck cant get across. Looks like somebody would use a little common sense
