Say Goodbye To Chief See

While I caught a glimpse of him yesterday in what may be his final meeting, Chief See's last day on the job is today. He will use up vacation time and sick leave until his formal retirement but today is the last day he'll be in his Office. I hear Gordy is right behind him after receiving pressure from his spouse.

Oh, on another note. I hear a congratulations is in order for Chief Webster. It has been reported he has finally asked his partner to get married. Congratulations Chief.

Getting back to Chief See, don't let it hit you in the A$$ too hard on your way out the door today. You won't be missed by this Blogger and the Citizens will feel an instant relief from their wallets once you're gone.

The Chief will spend his remaining days at the Delmar Fire Department as a Volunteer.

The Empire has been CRUSHED!

  2. you finally got it right, you're a BLOGGER, not a news source

  3. FYI I have it on good authority from some folks I know in Marion and Crisfield that Webster's lady friend, fiance, girlfriend or whatever you would like to call her is the reason he resides down in Westover. Supposedly her family lives near there. Looks like good ole Webster isn't moving closer to work any time soon, if not ever! It's going to continue to cost the tax payers or Salisbury in excess of $10 a day to send our beloved Chief of police to his safe home in Westover while everybody in Salisbury is being robbed, shot and beaten!

  4. anonymous 8:36, Call me whatever you want. I have never claimed to be a Journalist and have always claimed to be a Blogger. Are we a news source, absolutely. You come here and I'd even go so far as to say you probably visit Salisbury News first whenever you're looking to see what's new and most up to date. The truth hurts sometimes, face it.

  5. anonymous 8:38, Look, the Chief has a Contract with the City, he does not have to live in the City Limits. I personally don't see why others harp over this issue so much. It is what it is and hye may do what he wants. Mind you, should the next Chief of Police have the same contract, absolutely not. In the mean time, let it be.

In closing, if my Wife asked me to relocate, I'd follow her to the end of the earth.

  6. "I have never claimed to be a Journalist and have always claimed to be a Blogger."

If that is true, why did you have a "handmade" Press pass, as you said, the truth hurts, face it.

  7. Joe - I know this is your blog, but quit being such a pompous a$$ - most of us didn't know it was in his contract that he could live outside of the city where he was Police Chief. Thanks for the info. though, and no, whenever he leaves the next chief should not have the same contract for sure.

  8. Look, I don't have time to argue with a child's mind today. I already said I am without a doubt a news media source on Delmarva. I have a Press Pass because I am Press, like it or not. Ask the Daily Times, WBOC & WMDT why they make up their own non registered Press Passes as well. It's because they go through employees like butter and they couldn't afford to register them for starters. Secondly, unless they're sending their people to Washington and or Annapolis, there's no need to have them registered. Believe me, IF I wanted to have a registered Press Pass, it's very simple to do. Just look around the Internet. There's plenty of places to join and get one. Around here, everyone knows who I am and I don't need it.

  9. Not everyone shares your opinion of Chief See. What I have learned is that people tend to be overly critical of others who remind them of things they don't like about themselves. Transference makes folks reactive.
    Enjoy your retirement Chief.

  10. I know it's not in his contract, but it still irritates me, as a tax payer, that it is like that...for sure, I will go to all means to ensure that it doesn't happen like this again! I too would follow my wife, but then again my wife would understand that I am a public servant and need to be close to the ones I serve. The way I look at it, you can take your time on the way to visit mom, dad, aunt Sallie or uncle Joe, but emergencies can't always wait. You know what I'm saying?

You're right, nothing we can do about it now, but we sure can in the future! Is there a specified end date in his contract Joe?? lol

Haha, verification work is "regulite" Kind of fitting here!

  11. Joe, its hard to have a battle of wits with someone who is unarmed...
or better yet Never get in the mud with the hogs, you get their crap all over you and then you realize how much the hogs enjoy rolling around in it.

  12. We will be so happy to see gordy go as well. Between the two of them leaving, this place will be a whole lot better.
It is a shame how gordy thought he was volunteering to help others. He only hurt the department and the communty. He should retire from volunteering because he is terrible at it.
Most of us think he was just helping his own ego anyway. He probly doenst really care about average people. He just likes driving around wearing the uniform.

  13. I hope the rest of the group ie Hoppes ,Gordy, Gladwell will take a hint and leave also. I hope the mayor does not appoint Hoppes as chief .

  14. Who nominates the next chief? Does the mayor nominate for council vote? We should be so lucky.

  15. I am glad to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We will be lucky if we can get rid of all 3 at the top. Starting over will be the best thing that Ireton can do for the department, and the taxpayers. Gordy needs to go!.

  16. Joe how about the 45 million dollar lawsuit that Chief Webster and the Mayor kept from the City Counsel. We need more information and if Chief Webster is hiding that what else did Webster and the Mayor hide. I heard they called him a "N" several times and other officers were upset but nothing was done. Is this accept behavior under Chief Webster's leadership. If I were a minority at the Salisbury Police Dept. I would be scared that an Officer would call me a "N" and Chief Webster wouldnt do anything.

You are so wrong about your post here Chief, so get back to work.

  20. Mayor Ireton, you said help is on the way and you need to stick to your word. Now is the time to appoint a decent person as the acting chief and not someone such as Hoppes, Tull, etc. or the department will continue to fail and cost tax payers thousands.

  21. For everyone that seems to want to make ignorant comments about the blog & Joe. Use the x in the upper right corner & take the site off your favorites list. I'm sure you won't hurt his ratings.

  22. Joe, if you could find it in your heart please place your post to the top again in honor of the chief since it is his last day. If not it will get lost in all your great posts and we won't be able to see how much he is loved and will be missed. RPTFLMAO

  23. Will Brian Records be acting fire chief tommorrow?

  24. chief see is a good man and will be missed by the department.he has provided the dept with things necessary to provide service the community that it protects.good luck chief.

probably wasting my time writing this because this site has selective post picking usually the truth and positive comments about people are not posted.

  25. The above sounds like a recently promoted Lt that is a textbook fireman. The dept couldn't be lucky enough to have bryan as the chief, if even temporarily.

  26. you would be blow away at how much of your (tax payer) money they leave with. its a real shame.but its up to the new mayor to stop this from happing. Higher ups should not be getting comp time for doing what is required of them. If they all worked there regular hours they would get there work done and there would be no comp time on the books maybe we should start there.

  27. the higher ups dont get comp time.
