Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


Willie Lewis Ballard Jr, 28yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Officers responded to the 400 block of West Main Street on April 18, 2009 for a reported assault in progress with a firearm. On arrival, the officers located two subjects. One subject fled from the officers but the other, Ballard Jr, remained and was detained. A wanted check was conducted on Ballard and it was learned that Ballard had an outstanding arrest warrant for Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance-Not Marihuana through the Maryland State Police, Salisbury Barrack. A search of Ballard incident to his arrest, officers confiscated a quantity of suspected crack cocaine indicative of distribution. Ballard Jr was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Deonte Lamont Grant, 25yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested on an outstanding Parole Retake Warrant for a parole violation. Grant was the subject that fled from the police in the 400 block of West Main Street. Officers located Grant after a brief foot chase in the area of Lake Street and West Isabella Street. Grant was released to the custody of the Maryland State Police.

Santiago Jimenez Lopez, 19yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Disorderly Conduct on April 18, 2009. Officers responded to the 300 block of East Vine Street at approximately 2:26pm for a reported fight. On arrival officers met with Lopez who was having a verbal argument with a resident. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on Lopez and ordered him to leave the area and go home. Lopez refused and continued to yell and curse causing residents to come outside and see what the commotion was. Lopez was arrested, transported and released to the custody of Central Booking. 200900013007

Karen Lee Maisel, 34yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Fail to Obey a Lawful Order on April 18, 2009. Officers responded to Chef Fred’s restaurant at 1801 North Salisbury Blvd for a disorderly female refusing to leave the establishment. On the arrival of the officers at approximately 2:15am, Maisel was located inside the bar of the restaurant being loud and belligerent to the employees. Officers requested Maisel to leave on several occasions and she refused. Maisel was arrested, transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

The Salisbury Police Department is trying to locate Daniel Marvin Stormes Sr, 45yoa, White Male, approximately 6’0hgt, 180-200wgt, black hair, brown eyes and a last known address of 316 Naylor Street, Salisbury, MD.

Stormes is wanted for questioning in a Strong Armed Robbery that occurred on April 19, 2009 at approximately 8:30am in the parking lot of Giant Foods on South Salisbury Blvd.

The victim of the robbery advised that she was approached by a white male wanting some change. When the victim went to get change from her wallet, the white male grabbed the victim’s wallet and the keys to the victim’s vehicle that he victim held in her hand. The white male then fled from the parking lot in a gold or tan colored four door sedan similar in size and shape of a Toyota Corolla.

Through the initial investigation, the officer was able to determine that the white male suspect could be Daniel Marvin Stormes Sr. Anyone with information on the location of Stormes is asked to call the Salisbury Police Department at 410.548.3165 or Crime Solvers at 410.548.1776.
