MONDAY'S CLOSED SESSION MEETING IN SALISBURY WAS ILLEGAL
While many believe Gary Comegys and Louise Smith simply didn't want the public to know where things stand the day before the election, it's been reported they chose to close that meeting and violated the Open Meeting Act.
There was absolutely NOTHING discussed behind closed doors that had anything to do with litigation so Councilwoman Debbie Campbell warned them three times that if they didn't start telling her why this was brought into a closed session, she refused to discuss anything and simply walked out of the meeting.
NOTHING has been exposed, as Mayor Tilghman assured the Press weeks ago that she would give great details as to just how serious the problems are at the Salisbury WWTP that cost the taxpayers $84,000,000.00!
The Consultant has come and gone and there's still no word. Comegys has run from this topic since the day Salisbury News broke the story that the new system not only didn't work, it was getting worse by the day.
I should add to this Post that Police Chief Webster has been on Mrs. Campbells heels trying to get access to a surveillance tape he believes is in her possession. Mrs. Campbell has advised the Chief to talk to her lawyer as she has nothing more to say about the matter. I'm sure many of you have seen the frequent comments of people bringing up the fact that the Chief is squirming as to just where the tape is and went. Mayor Tilghman is reported to be extremely upset as well and wants that tape back.
The outcome of the Salisbury WWTP does not look Folks. Someone, (especially Barrie Tilghman) has some serious explaining to do and I would think an investigation as to where ALL of the funds were spent would be under way very soon. Of course you're NOT going to see Mayor Tilghman initiate the investigation because that would be the honorable thing to do and she's just not known for doing such a thing. I wonder why?
I should add, because Debbie walked out of the meeting, Terry & Shanie weren't present, there wasn't a quorum and the topic died right then and there.
The consultant will be coming back at some point.
ReplyDeleteI would expect nothing less than an extremely difficult time in transition with this group.
ReplyDeleteAND, I would HOPE that the Chief of SPD is busy with his letter of resignation, to be effective upon swearing in of new Mayor. He was nearly ineffective before, so there is NO way he can do his job under the new regime.
For once, do the right thing without being forced to, people.
Got a copy of that tape yet Joe?
ReplyDeleteAs they say in England,
ReplyDeleteCould be, then again, might not be, so, one never knows, does one?
So, you are saying that what the closed session was about was something that should have been in open session, where the public could hear about it?
ReplyDeleteIf this is true, it's not the first time that they've pulled that trick. Mike Dunn was famous for it.
Nice transparency and Government in the Sunshine, LOUISE!
what is this tape about? can anyone say?
ReplyDeleteI'm missing something here. What is the surveillance tape about? The sewer plant?
ReplyDeleteI'd like some more Comegys videos shown, they are quite entertaining.
ReplyDeleteMake a copy of the tape on DVD, & give them the tape.
ReplyDeleteGood for Debbie in standing up to those goons and their antics of misusing the open meetings act.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope Mr. Ireton is serious in his pledge to stop this BS.
ReplyDeleteWe should challenge that closed session. Anyone can do it, even the Daily Times...as if they would. WBOC, WMDT or any one of us can challenge the closed session.
ReplyDeleteKnowing the history of that bunch, I doubt conversation ended when Debbie walked out.
A tape huh... what, when, where and who.
ReplyDeleteDecades ago I stopped believing there was any integrity left in government or any trustworthy people in it.
ReplyDeleteOver the last four years, Debbie Campbell has sure proven me wrong.
What a GEM we have in this woman!
I still don't know how Debbie has withstood the buffoonery of Comegys, she must be so dedicated.
ReplyDeleteNow has anyone seen the scalded dog in public today? What's the councilman's pay scale? Will he be able to afford his current lifestyle in the future?
These are burning questions I wanna know.
Geez, no answers yet...sigh
ReplyDeleteI saw Baldy today on RT50 heading east at about 6:20PM and he was driving like a bat out of hell. Bet he was doing 60MPH in a 45MPH zone near the RT50 post office.
ReplyDeleteSomebody should make copies of that tape for safe keeping. We could You Tube it so everyone in Salisbury can see ROFLMAO Yes! Talk about transparency in government hee haw what a hoot that would be. Tighlman on Global You Tube.
Whats on this tape causing the hu bub??? Joe I am not a mind reader :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is one of the many reasons Debbie Campbell was re-elected. She doesn't put up with their BS and smoke and mirrors! She stands up for and represents the PEOPLE!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Debbie!!!
Folks, the Tilghman adminstration is about to take the back door out of town. We are finally free, but, I will say, don't count on it, those who have a vested interest in the corruption the deceit, the wrongdoings will continue, and we cannot afford to let our guard down.Just because we have a new mayor does not mean that the residual of the Tilghman adminstration still does not rest in Louise, Gary and Shaney. Anyone, anyone who has information and want to give it now that the wicked witch is gone, can certainly do so.Contact someone who has supported the changes we seek. So folks, there is a ray of sunshine, and help is on the way..and is confirmed by the people of Salisbury. Jim Ireton is to be sworn in shortly.
ReplyDeleteFlash 8:12 - incriminating evidence of who was responsible for the break-ins at Debbie Campbell's office???
