Illegal Aliens
Editor,
I've always believed that there were several reasons that our politicians refused to close off our Southern border to stop the flow of illegals into our country. One is that the illegal immigrants who work are cash cows of a sort in that most have taxes taken out of their pay and will never fill out a return to claim overpayments or collect Social Security. Another reason is that if ever they are given amnesty and ultimately permitted to vote, the politicians will claim their respective party is responsible for the amnesty and will do everything they can to convince these "new" voters that they are entitled to their votes.
As I was reading over my tax information and preparing to take my tax info to our accountant, I noticed on page two of IRS publication "New Wage Witholding and Advanced EIC Payment Tables" there is an interesting section starting on the left side. "Witholding Income Taxes on the Wages of Nonresident Alien Employees". This section actually instructs employers to withold taxes from the paychecks of Nonresident Aliens based on a HIGHER income than they actually make. And they include a table:
Weekly payroll - calculate their taxes based on $138.00 more than what they earned;
Bi-weekly - $276.00 more
Semi-monthly - $299.00
Monthly - $598.00 more
Quarterly - $1798.00
Semi-annually - $3590.00
This in no way effects what they actually earn but changes dramatically what they bring home. It doesn't effect their tax liability but would increase greatly the amount of any refund - if they file a tax return. These numbers do not affect Social Security Witholdings.
Here's my question. How many of these "Nonresident Aliens" actually file a return? 2%? 5%? 10%? Can you imagine the amount of additional money the government is collecting using this method? How about Social Security? 15.3% of earnings of "Nonresident Aliens" go into the fund with almost none collected by those earning the money (except for half of the 15.3% which is contributed by employers which comes from employers earnings).
Our government is using these "Nonresident Aliens", whether or not they are here legally, as a method of collecting even more tax revenue.
For those of you who think that most employers pay illegals in cash, I would urge you to go to the bank on a friday evening and notice how many of the people there cashing paychecks likely fit into the "Nonresident Alien" category. I think it's safe to say that a HUGE number of "Nonresident Aliens" are illegal - like it or not. Call me what you will, only a fool ignores what's right in front of his face.
Point is that our elected officials are taking advantage of the ignorance of "Nonresident Aliens" regardless of their status and this is yet more proof that there is an ulterior motive for NOT stopping the tide of illegal immigrants flowing into this country. It doesn't matter that over 80% of the people in this country want to stop illegal immigrants from coming into this country - the government will not stop it due to the money it brings in revenue.

I didn't think non-resident alien is not the same as an undocumented alien, but one that is here on temp work permit.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteSteal work from me and Ill turn into the criminal.
ReplyDeleteis he standing in the parking lot at WCSO? hmmmm code 3, speed bump, problem solved
ReplyDeleteIt would be political suicide for the elected officials to stop the illegal immigration and this post is the main reason as to why.
ReplyDeleteThere are other reasons they would use to not stop it too, including the amount of money they put back into the local areas (ie; grocery stores, clothing stores, etc.).
However, I think some of the officials might as well commit that suicide because I'm hoping that EVERY one of them get voted out next elections. Not only for this issue, but just because they are not doing their job!
If I didn't do my job, I would get fired. We should hold them to the same standard.
Remember the Alamo!!!!Then react ,
ReplyDeleteproblem solved. I we have a problem , get rid of the problem.
Remember KISS.Keep it simple stupid.
They are costing the indiviual states far more than they they are paying into them. Thats for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe illegals are funding Social Security and Medicare; at the moment they will never collect on. But they soon may as this country decends further down the drain with entitlements.
ReplyDeleteNo I think he is standing right in front of the Circ. Court building. How funny he is facing the Federal Building. I am sure no one had time for him there. To busy playing golf or fishing, It was sunny and a Federal Friday. If you dont know what Fed. Friday is. check the local Fed. Offices on Fri when it is nice out. Nonresident Alien Employee - person with a Work Visa or a "Green Card"
ReplyDeleteContrary to Anonymous American's xenophobic rantings, I would guess that 95%+ of these people pay their taxes, since not paying them would be cause to revoke their permission to work in this country.
Focus, people, focus. Illegal immigration is a huge problem - don't lump the legal immigrants in with them. These are the people who are following all the rules!
right they are good people that dont do anything worng. People wake up!! look at how much it costs to educate them, imprision them, teach americans to speak their language(ie teachers around the usa in schools and colleges) provide food and other essentials for their new born anchor babies, hospitalization bills that are not payed for, auto accidents that arent payed for. Perfect example my land lord let a family of them move in across the street the payed their security deposit of 950 and never payed anything else for 3 months. in one night they up and moved out. They left a once nice house in ruins and never payed their bill. My land lord now has to sell one of his rental properties in order to equal out the loss of what happened to this house. Me personally had one hit my car and run. 500 dollars because some stupid mexican hit my car and run. I knew it was a mexican, because a lady saw this individual but could not get the license plat number. Shame on any employer who employs them. It takes away from your countries own people's paychecks. Look at mountaire and how many they employ. Do you really think that we would have the unemployment rate that we had if Americans had the jobs that these mexicans have? Lets take Mc Donalds as another example, what used to be a place for a teenager in high school to work to make a few dollars so they could buy a car or anything that they had a need for. This has now been over run with mexicans that cannot speak english so us as americans are forced to learn their language so they can continue to take our jobs? Wilmington Trust in Georgetown will NOT hire anyone who is not bi lingual. What a crock of feces. Wal Mart in Georgetown has messages that come across the intercom in spanish. How am I or any other non spanish speaking people know what they are saying in Wal Mart. Now take a look at our construction industry. Drywal, concrete, plumbing, hvac and framing all have pretty much had bad quality due a lot to mexicans. I know from experience and having to go back and fix what they either break or do not due right the first time. although their pay may be less the quality of work is horrible. So you know have to pay to do a job twice that should have been done right the first time. Take all of these things into consideration and then look at the way the country is going and tell me there is no connection between mexicans and their actions and they way our economy is going.
ReplyDelete1:31 you are such a fool. Your comment "I would guess that 95%+ of these people pay their taxes, since not paying them would be cause to revoke their permission to work in this country." reveals a level of ignorance that exists in liberals today at dangerously high levels. This is not a guessing game. Your guess is so far from accurate it isn't funny. What actual experience do you have? I have plenty! I have conducted traffic stops on subjects that have had two and three "green cards" with different names and photos of the same person on them. Social Security cards with different names on them. Unlicensed driving uninsured vehicles. Drinking and driving causing accidents that wouldn't happen if they had been deported because they are here illegally. A high percentage pay taxes because it is a condition of their employment NOT because they are concerned with obeying the law. They have no fear of having their permission to work revoked because no one will deport them. You call me a xenophobe but that's not me. I am the grandson of an Italian immigrant who waited in line on Ellis Island to have his papers stamped. He learned the language and refused to teach my mother to speak Italian telling her "you live in America you speak english". My rant was far from xenophobic but rather a verbal burst of displeasure at those elected officials who refuse to step up the enforcement of our immigration laws because of the potential for monetary gain.
ReplyDeleteTo those of you who are the self proclaimed tolerance touting liberals who believe you are enlightened to a level above those of us who believe our immigration laws should be enforced vigorously, I have news for you. You haven't begun to see the gang violence you will see when the illegal hispanic population begin to group together in gangs for the purpose of establishing territory for open air drug dealing. God Forbid one of your friends or loved ones becomes a victim of random gang violence you will wish the problem had been nipped in the bud. I can see the responses to this calling me a fear monger but it will come to pass and you will not be able to deny it.
Has anyone else noticed that they live in large groups?Theres a rental property down the road from me where there are literally half a dozen cars in the yard, and I have counted as many as 5 adults and who knows how many kids in a 3 bedroom home meant for a single family-not to mention the camper RV's they park in the driveway with another 5 or 6 residents.
ReplyDeleteGet a grip. I guess all Americans are perfect citizens, who don't cost the government a thing and don't commit crimes? Seriously, illegal immigrants are a issue, but please stop with the "fear the Mexicans" garbage. I take it gangs were created by Mexicans and never existed in the United States before the illegals got here? Be constructive and realistic about the problem can be handled as opposed to just spewing hate.
