Enough Is Enough!
This rally is not about the present candidates; this is about standing up and letting it be known that we, as citizens have had enough and we want it to stop now.
The intimidation, smear tactics and down right dirty politics has been going on every 2 years for the last 10 years and every election cycle it becomes progressively worse. We must put a stop to these tactics.
Sure, politics can get dirty but this, this is beyond dirty. When the elderly, single moms, people of lower income and college students, the most fragile of our community, are in fear of not being able to afford their homes or apartments due to outright lies, it is time to take a stand and let those responsible know we're not going to tolerate this type of behavior any longer. We have had enough.
We as Americans have a constitutional right to cast our vote for whomever we choose, without fear of retribution, retaliation or intimidation. People have lived in fear of retaliation from the Tilghman administration AND the special interests who have benefited from it for far too long. Citizens are afraid to stand up and speak against the wrongs. Afraid theyl lose their business. Afraid theyl be fined into debt for speaking out. We remember Brenda Cox.
Fear of retaliation, retribution and intimidation is the cause of many of our problems. It has gone on for too long and it has gone too far. We have had enough.
Enough is Enough!
you folks are my heroes--don't let the light turnout sway you! The weather did not cooperate, but you have done a great thing standing up for Salisbury. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteWish all your posts were also "not about the present candidates"... but they are!
ReplyDeleteJoe:
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens in EVERY ELECTION IN POCOMOKE CITY when someone, anyone challenges the "Boss Hogg" form of government establishment.
The Mayor & City Council have been working around the clock to discredit my wife, Stephanie Burke who is running for City Council in District 4 Pocomoke City.
Fear of retaliation, retribution and intimidation is the cause of many of our problems. It has gone on for too long and it has gone too far. We have had enough.
Pocomoke City is ruled by an unelected dictator or City Manager who has been holding the reins of power for 33-years with no accountability.
The City has set-up the election to be challenged by the ACLU in the event that Stephanie wins.
Members of the City Government and employees have been taking "absentee ballot" forms to the old folks homes and to anyone so they can "bank votes"...
Right now they have banked close to 200 votes in a district that has 550 registered voters and a little over 200 people voted in the last Council election.
People who have sported signs for Stephanie Burke in their yards, have been harassed and threatened by members of the city government.
People are afraid to openly support her for fear of losing their jobs or city contracts.
Its time to take back our government.

All of the above is why those that did go out did not expect many to turn out. People in Salisbury are still in fear of Barrie Tilghman, especially after she destroyed Brenda Cox.
Her days of terror are over. Those that stood up today stood up for everyone that is in fear of standing and speaking up.
Thank you to those of you that braved the weather to take a stand.
These people need to join the Tea Party, the beginning of real change.
ReplyDeleteI drove by in the rainstorm, but had no umbrella. Add me to your group; you guys ROCK!
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't the Tea Party join them?
ReplyDeleteThis tea party thing is a childish pursuit, certainly not a meaningful solution for problem-solving.
ReplyDeleteThese brave people who showed up and stood in the rain are the real deal. Let's get involved with folks like that.
