Another Letter To The Editor

As a strong supporter of Jim Ireton for mayor, I deeply resent the suggestion in recent letters to the editor that somehow Gary Comegys supporters like Salisbury more than we do.

We have endured a sustained campaign to besmirch Ireton's reputation and have had to read entirely unfair coverage in The Daily Times. The latest case was the worst: In an article about potential voter fraud involving Salisbury landlords, The Daily Times quoted a SAPOA member who claimed Ireton's allegations were a campaign ploy.

Gee, might he be biased? How about asking the people who were witnesses to the incident? Look at the list of contributors to each campaign and decide for yourselves which candidate represents a particular special interest group.

I love Salisbury and I am voting for Jim Ireton.

  1. HOORAY, JIM IRETON FOR MAYOR, everyone in my household is voting for him, we didn't go for primaries, and were not going to the elections, but this town needs a new leader, and Jim is the one. See you on Tuesday. Hooray to JIM in advance for your victory. YAY

  2. Are those campaign contribution lists available yet?
It'll be no surprise where Bubba and Shanie's support comes from. Look for maximum donations from out of state and under names that you've never heard of. It's SAPOA, sliding money in through outside sources.

  3. Look also for the landlords' employees each giving the maximum $250 donation. Check out the last municipal election's campaign contributions. Donnie Williams' employee, Laura Haviland, who never had enough money to make ends meet, somehow was able to contribute $250 to Comegys, $250 to Ewalt, and $250 to Atkins. Now you tell me that's not Donnie Williams sneaking in another $750 illegally. Find out who the current employees of the landlords are and see if they're doing it again this election. All it takes for corruption to thrive is for good people to not pay attention to the details.
