Tea Party

Thanks for your email and your interest.? We are so glad that you are interested in having a Tea Party in your city!? You are absolutely not alone so please do not be afraid to take on this commitment!? There are others out there and they will come out of the woodwork as you start planning this event!? You will not be alone in this, I promise!???

These Tea Parties have taken on a life of their own and have overwhelmed many of us!? It has been impossible to get through all the emails and phone calls!? I am working diligently to get everyone up and running with the planning of a Tea Party.? I am glad you want to do this!? There are many people to walk with you and help you!? Me included!? So, please do not hesitate to ask!

First and foremost, we are working with several large sponsors.? These sponsors include Smart Girl Politics, TCOT (Top Conservatives on Twitter), Don'tGo Movement, and Michelle Malkin.? All of these organizations are promoting the Nationwide Tax Day Tea Parties taking place in cities across the US.

I realize that many organizers of these events are planning tea parties to occur on days other than April 15th.? Unfortunately, our sponsors have decided that we will only be promoting events that actually occur on the 15th of April.?

Therefore, the first step is to make sure that you are planning for Wednesday, April 15th, anytime between the hours of 12 noon and midnight.? If this date and time fit into your plan, the next step would be to create a FaceBook Event page.? Make sure this is an EVENT and not a group!? This is very important!? Once you have created the FaceBook event page, you can send me the link and I will post it to the main Nationwide Tax Day Tea Party group page and to our website www.taxdayteaparty.com.

When creating the FB event, you would just use the name of your city and "Tax Day Tea Party" as the name of your event.? Be sure to include the name of your city in the title of your event! ?This is important so that people find the event when doing a search. ?If you do not know the exact location and time of the event right now, that is fine, you can just say that those details will be announced as finalized.? If you look at the several tea parties listed on the FaceBook page, you will see that many have there information listed as tentative right now.? That is fine to get the ball rolling!

Before you read any further, I encourage you to call me if you have any reservations. ?Do not let the FaceBook event page scare you away!? Many people do not have FaceBook accounts and do not want a FaceBook account. ?I completely understand this and do not want the FaceBook part to deter you. ?We can work around the FaceBook situation if needed by having myself or a team member set up the FaceBook page for your city!?

Atlanta is one of the cities where we plan to hold an event such as a Meet & Greet / Sign Making Party on Saturday, April 11th, in addition to our Tax Day Tea Party on April 15th.? Although there will be no mention of the April 11th event on the Nationwide group page, I can send messages to our Atlanta FaceBook group and post the information there.? We are going to hold both events because we have had a large request from people to hold a Saturday event.? We hope that our Saturday Meet & Greet will get people energized to come out on Wednesday of that week.? We are hoping it will be a launching pad!

I am working with another person on completing a "How To" guide for planning the Tea Party now.? We hope to have the guide completed by the end of the week.? In the meantime, you can go to the www.taxdayteaparty.com or additional resources.? There is a "How To" guide there to get you started.? We will have something more detailed later this week.

A few other tidbits that will help you get the ball rolling...I would advise that you set up an email account for your tea party that you can use on all of your correspondence, event page, press releases, etc.? I set up a gmail account that I use for all of the Atlanta Tea Party events.? That way I can keep it separate from my regular account if I choose and you can also have other people help you with the emails that you receive if needed.? Additionally, I set up a Atlanta Tea Party website to keep people updated that do not use FaceBook.? Believe me, there are many people that do not use FaceBook!? These are just some ideas to get you started.? Atlanta had a very successful event last week, despite the horrendous weather and these are things we did to help us plan our event!

One last thing I will add...I have started a group on FaceBook called America's Tea Party to use as a source to promote events not related to the main Nationwide event.? This is a place where I will also be listing the Atlanta Meet & Greet for April 11th as well.? If you do decide to hold a event in addition to the April 15th event, send me the link and I will post it for you.? I also hope you will consider joining the group and inviting others.? I plan to update the site with links and information on a daily basis!

I am including a picture with this email that you can use to set up your event page.? You will just need to download to your computer and then upload it to FaceBook when creating the event page.? If you have any problem, please give me a call and I will help you!

I hope this will get you started on planning your tea party.? If I can answer any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!? It is probably better if you call me, because the emails are coming in fast and furious...which is a good thing!

Also, let me say, if you are serious about hosting this event, let me know right away.? That way I will put you down as the Project Servant Leader and list your event on the page as "Coming Soon."? There have been several instances where people waited too long to decide and someone started the ball rolling in the meantime.? If that happens, it gets confusing and can be difficult!? If at all possible, let me know something right away!

Once again, thank you for your interest and participation!? Let me know what you decide!? I look forward to working with you!? Have a great day!

Thanks,
Amy Kremer

  2. Its not going to do a damn thing, If it makes you feel better, go ahead. You want to play war, well wars not a game and words are useless anymore. The only thing these a-holes in D.C. will respect is fear. They have to think that Hannibal is knocking at the door. They are all cowards and cheats. Fear is the only tool/weapon we have left. We are at war with our own goverment, make no mistake about it. So have your little TEA-PARTY and get some air time, but thats all it will amount to.

  3. There is a great YouTube clip on Michelle Malkin's site today showing a Democrat Chicago City Councilman shoving and cursing one of the citizens he "represents" who dared present him with petition AGAINST A T.I.F. proposed for a developer. If there is any ONE reason to NOT vote for Comegys it is his support of the TIF financing for developers.

  4. How many would be interested. The Tea Parties are being held all over the US with almost no media coverage.

  5. Who is organizing?

  6. it might not change anything, but it may change everything. Real and positive change must coem from people, not government. April 15th is not that far away. is there a sign up sheet, an email address or has anyone really bagan to get things rolling. late afternoon would be good as many business oweners could also attend. It would be great to get enough people to actually get some tv coverage.

  7. What are we going to play "cowboys and indians" next, symbolic at best. You could help this country more by simply not shopping at Mal-Mart or Sams.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 843am, I agree with you 100%, but, we should exhaust all options first. If for no other reason, a clear conscience and no regrets. Perhaps by April all the media around the country will cover every event. {if its not too late by then}

  9. wla-mart and sams employ more people than any other business. if you want things to turn around, the tax burden on businesses and individuals must be lifted and government spending and welfare programs cut dramatically!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Define----Employ please.

    ReplyDelete
  11. lets get rolling: There are those who just complain and those who act. Lets send a message to our new leaders and start a new era in Salisbury, one freindly to businesses, indiviudals and families. I am sending off an email as I se it was just added.

BTW: Why would you want to hurt the company that has more employees than any other business? Just to destroy our economy once and for all?

  12. OK! Where do we meet to put this together?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'd be very careful if I were you on these comments. Clearly someone, (Chief Webster?) is trying to get the skinny on this before it happens.

    ReplyDelete
  14. use the email. This is an orderly and nonviolent use of free speech to try and get the attention of our leaders. The so-called Chief should not have any worries, unless it is purely political!

    ReplyDelete
  15. 11:46, The fact that Mal-Mart and Sams are the largest employer is the problem,(one of them anyway). They are users, they will exploit anyone they can to achieve their goal PROFIT AT ANY EXPENSE. They have exploited local officials from one end of this country to the other to achieve their goals, at the expense of the American people as well as the expense of many foreign nations people, young and old. They have become a monopoly, look at their stocks in the worst recession/depression most of us have ever seen, they are doing alright. Ask yourself WHY?

  16. People who shop at Wal-mart do so to save money. McDonalds is doing also. As far as I can see, the government is the only entity that can put a gun to your head and take your money and you have no rights....you do not have to work or shop at wal-mart...but ever talk to many who work there, most say they love it!! Ever talk to someone who works for the government....s sly grin and a bunch of cuss words!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Is Salisbury so backwards that the Chief is already looking into something like a Tea Party? These are being held all over the country.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 12:19 Thats our choices huh, the goverment or Mal-Mart. You have successfully proved a very good point.

    ReplyDelete
  19. There was a short post on the DT web page about thw Salisbury Tea Party and the email address. I wonder how long it will stay up before they crack down on it.

  20. Free Market, Capitalism, personal responsibility, or a total nanny government that controls everything you do.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Lets get the word out folks. Lets take back our city, our government and our country. Unless people speak up, things will go as they always have and government officlais will use power and fear to keep the people from speaking or doing anything!

    ReplyDelete
  22. any idea what time and where this is going to be? can we make our own signs? What time?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Homemade signs are encourages, as far as I know. usually all signs and shirts are checked to make sure nuts do not get in there and give everyone a bad name. Tea parties are supposed to be professional. I sent an email looking to help organize. As far as I know, today is just the start date and Joe is the first to publish anything about this.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The DT post says April 15th after 4pm somewhere downtown-location TBD because of # of people...I hope SPD tries to stop it, maybe they'll just join in...then we'll definitely make the news!!!

BY all means make yourself a sign...Mine will say-Obama should wine & dine me before he screws Me

  25. Anyone know if Facebook is up yet for Salisbury?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I just got info: National Tea Party is helping out with the facebook page, but they are extremely busy......There are a ton of these happening throughout the country........I would suggest sending an email. I have firsthand knowledge the page will be worked on these evening by Chris. Might be up tonight, or tomorrow night. Chamber and SU have been notified as well. Joe really got the word out quick!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This seems like a total waste of time and effort. Will anyone really care?

If you want change, you should get that at the ballot box. Elections have consequences.

The GOP had its day in the sun for the last 8 years and really messed it up, BIG TIME!!

If you don't like the alternative, then give us a competent GOP. Elect smart and honest GOP leaders. Otherwise, just shut up and go away.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Better get a permit first.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We know we need to get a permit. That will be done asap. people need a litle more faith. Maybe a tea party will not make the politicians listen, but doing nothing will only asure that they never will.

    ReplyDelete
  30. All great ideas, movements, and the such must begin somewhere, at some point with some brave souls who strive for truth and the genuine American Way. To dismiss these tax parties is to dismiss the American dream, the American spirit and the creativity of people who bring about real, positive change that betters society, not strangles it!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Will that be one LUMP or two. This isnt T.V. people. American Idol will make you infamous, revolution can get you KILLED. This aint no damn game.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Who said it WAS a game. I have a family, 4 kids, I want them to have a good life. The way things are going, they are not. Stand up, sit down or get out of the way. Those are the choices you have. If you choose to do nothing, then you choose for things to get worse and others will pay for that decision. The world is full of cowards, and so is America. it is time for the real Americans to stand up and be counted.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 8:19 You sound ready, now stand in my yard and let me fire a pistol at you on both sides of your head, you still ready? You ready to have to hide on the lamb using the woods and not see your family for months or years, not knowing if they are O.K. and safe, you still ready? Do you love this country and your family enough to loose your life to protect it, you still ready? This aint no damn game. You still ready? Are you ready to kill a man because you think you have to? YOU READY??? Killin aint easy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have a great post coming up tomorrow morning on this.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Less:

Taking things a bit far aren't you? or are you trying to scare people so they will not speak their minds? Government uses fear, control and power to shut people up, America was born on Freedom, let us voice our opinions and thoughts. We are not a totalitarian country, yet!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. After the senate just passed this horrible spending bill......people need to voice their opinions loud and clear, now more than ever. Our country is headed down a horrible paths where everyones life will be worse off. Our actions now will affect those who will be hurt the most by this new dictatorship, our kids and grandchildren!

    ReplyDelete
  37. For those who want their voices heard, sent an email and attend the tea patry! For all those who want to shiver in the corner liek a scared cat, continue doing so. Inactivity is also a choice. Being a coward is a choice as well. I say we show the politicians we are not scared of them just as they are doing in cities all acroos America. Stand up for you and your children, attend the Tea Party, lets make thi thing happen!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Why the negativity fro some? This is not the Obama crowd. this is real hard working Americans doing soemthing to bring about positive change! Has our Nation really become Cowards? Are there not many who will stand up for their beliefs, or are most happy to sit back and let the government control everything, to let the elites run this country into the ground?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think we need to have an informal meeting. I beleive we should all send an email and have a small gathering to begin cordinating this effort. We will need a permit, signs, ideas of where to have it, if downtown. And things need to get rolling soon. i am sending an email to the salisburymdteaparty@earthlink.net and speak with whoever got this going so we can really get as many people as possible and show this sorry city and federal government what we have alsways been and can be again!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I understand there are more than a fre people form Ocean City are interested. Hopefully we can get this thing going and make it big.at least for Salisbury anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I see now the dt actually has some post about this event. They are looking for some to help organizing. This whole thing sounds interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  42. any big sponsors lined up?

    ReplyDelete
  43. anonymous 10:49, aka Anti Albero Blogger,

It's pretty clear by your stupid questions you want info to bash everyone elsewhere. Go back to your Blog and try and actually get some helpful news for everyone. You are so obvious it isn't funny.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Are people in Salisbury finally coming together to fight the overspending by our government. Are they finally getting involved and coming out of their shell? I sure hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Isn't this a positive event? I see some negative comments on here and if some are trying to bash these people, pathetic!A country really is not made by the dumb masses, but by the strong few who continually strive for a better life for themselves, their familes and their children. How many here are asking questions with the intent on ruining this event to give it a bad name or just trying to keep it from happening at all?
