An Interesting Comment Worthy Of A Post

Joe I found this interesting comment on one of the other blogs and I find it interesting how this individual can get away with openly bashing and attacking certain city council members. This is disgusting and something should be done about it.

"Chief David See to retire From Salisbury Fire Department."

Amen!! For all those that give him hell...remember...you're NOT doing his job. Why in the heck would ANYONE want to be Fire Chief?! Especially in this town where few apparently give a rat's patoot (giving the rodent family its due) regarding the crap he has to put up with and the responsibilities that accompany the position?!
Like the man or not, it's a tough job w/ way too many political implications and "bosses". One person should answer to one person...not a group of people who truly are not educated regarding the fire service and the demands of the job. Those who would choose to educate themselves and not strictly pay attention to "blogs", would find that all the department heads of the City have difficult jobs especially during difficult financial times..

The "legislative" branch should be doing just that...legislating. They need to leave the executive branch to its job, which (in part)is managing the department heads.
I have no issue w/ the legislators asking questions, but, anymore, it appears to be w/ malicious intent. If I am wrong, then I certainly offer my apologies here and now. However, these department heads cant seem to be able to turn around in their offices without someone bearing down on them. If they're doing such a poor job, then their boss should be handling the discipline necessary. If that boss isnt doing his/her job, then that individual needs to be dealt with in-turn.

I'd love to see some of the people who are questioning every move made attempt to step into the roles of Chief or Director and attempt to handle the job themselves in a more appropriate manner.

Put the safety of nearly 100,000 people in their hands and let them feel the pressure and see how they react. Dealing w/ the finances of these same 100,000 folks is one thing and I personally appreciate the fact that there are folks interested in watching after where my tax dollars go (wish more were coming back to me! LOL), but I'm not so sure that some appreciate the responsibility that accompanies the title of "Dept. Head". Throw unfunded federal mandates ( such as NFPA) and the like into the pot and it quickly becomes quite the "challenge" to run a department when you dont seem to appear to have the full support of those who in essence, seem to be "micromanaging". If you want to be fire chief and feel you can do the job better (or any other dept. head), then go to the schools, get the training and required education, crawl down the dark hallways with us at least ONCE, deal with the sick and dying, watch the children live in poverty and drugs, watch your friends get hurt (sometimes bad), view the emotional stress that comes with the territory (which we all know and have to accept in order to complete our careers (vol or paid...makes no difference)), and THEN, and ONLY THEN, can some of these folks TRULY understand what the Chief (and his staff) deals with!

I rambled and I'm sorry...but these are FACTS...Can we (SFD) do better??? I'm sure that we probably can, and maybe should...but we do the best we can for the most part. We make mistakes and we live with the ramifications of those mistakes. If you're an officer, you have a target on your back...earned or not. That comes w/ the territory as well and how you handle that bullseye makes you a good one or not.
I get hammered pretty hard on that "other site" (lol) and while it's owned by someone I dont necessarily agree w/ on a regular basis, I respect his right to free speech and to his own opinion and would defend that right to the end as that is part of what makes America wonderful.

To those who bash the Chief behind his back but are friendly to his face (as some appear to be doing about a few of us), I openly call you "COWARD". Be the man you apparently make yourself out to be in private, IN PUBLIC. Lay your training and experience down on the table in open forum against any of those you continually bash and let's compare! Bring your "A" game when you do!!

I certainly havent always agreed w/ Chief See...but when I havent, he's heard it to his face...sometimes in the wrong forum and I often wonder how I've managed to keep my job sometimes, let alone my rank. But I've done it to his face and I feel he appreciated that for what it was...someone disagreeing w/ him like a man rather than a coward. I assure you, as would anyone who knows me, I understand my role in the department...I have a boss to whom I answer and I respect him as well. I also have responsibilites at home, which include much more than "myself". I wonder to what extent those that say the officers are gutless and butt kissers and scared would go at their own jobs...Exactly what are each of them willing to "lose" in order to "stand up" to their boss?? Hmmmm....

Call me a butt kisser if you like, but I buy into the overall program and feel that there truly are only a few who dont. I openly admit I dont agree with some things, but I am NOT Chief. I do not have the final say...but what I DO HAVE, as does each member of the Department, is a say in the goings-on. Which is WAY more than we used to have!! Obviously, there are going to be differences of opinions and thought processes. Sometimes the "grunts" dont see the entire picture and sometimes "management" doesnt listen to what they need to...that's going to happen in any organization.

There is much talent at all levels in the SFD...those that cant stand to be a part of it should go be part of something else. Those that stay will continue to be part of an extraordinary organization doing an awful lot in very trying and difficult situations.

I am proud to serve with each of them, volunteer and career.
The SFD took a "back seat" for many years and now that it has moved to the forefront, which was inevitable, it appears to be taking some heat from naysayers. If you're in the Department and wish to continue to gripe, DO SO!! But do it like adults and do it openly and with class. "Anonymous" commentary attacking people is cowardly, at best. I can certainly offer worse explicatives (Im good at that! LOL!).
If you're outside the Department, come visit us and see us in action. Visit ANY firehouse and see what YOUR money does and how it works for YOU! Educate yourselves BEFORE you take only one side of a story as the "whole truth".
You may find that there truly is "more to it"...

I wish Chief See well in his retirement. With the current climate, it's a wonder he's made it this long.

Cap, I appreciate the space you've allowed me in my ranting and apologize for getting on your "soapbox"!!

  1. please explain where the 100,000 people who you are protecting are. that number sounds made up. this whole post is buttkissing crap.

  2. Ah yes...the infamous Jim Gladwell. It would be hard to determine the winner of the "biggest butt kisser" contest between him, Bunky Adams and John Tull. He is a TRUE follower who portrays himself as a leader. One of the most overrated firefighter wannabees in SFD. Talk about someone not worthy of his rank. I just hope the new incoming regime biotch slaps him back to being a firefighter (he never showed he could do THAT well). Hey Jimmy, keep this in mind, part of being in your position is communicating effectively. In your post, you claim that you disagree with Chief See face to face and speak your mind. I highly doubt it. Communication is not your strong point (in fact, i'm still trying to find your strong point). Maybe instead of writing these posts, you should take a communication class at Wor-Wic. No one takes you seriously or respects you and much of it revolves around your lack of communication skills. The other part is your pompous "holier than thou" attitude. Trust me, no one is impressed.

  3. That is a blatant attack on two of the finest council members this city has ever had. Accusing them of micromanaging. They are doing their jobs and that is why they were elected to office.

Who gave that guy the authority to represent the Salisbury Fire Department? Yes he signed his name and rank as a representative of the Salisbury Fire Departent and he should be terminated for his actions. This is not the first time I have seen his name on her or other sites.

This person is a disgrace to the tax paying citizens of Salisbury and we help pay his salary. If I was a department head I would separate his employment from the city.

Mr. Gladwell or who ever you are an apology to these two fine women is to late and not acceptable. Find another job I don't need you coming to my home in an event of an emergency!

"Put the safety of nearly 100,000 people in their hands and let them feel the pressure and see how they react."

Therein lies the problem. All of these wannabee firefighters feel as if they are playing God. Are you telling me they sit around and dwell on what COULD happen to the safety of these 100,000 citizens? Hell no. Just more scare tactics and throwing out numbers to try to justify their positions.

If that is the case, imagine the "pressure" and stress the Deputies and Troopers must feel every day. They have the "safety" of the entire Wicomico County in their hands. That is alot more than 100,000 people. They seem to deal with it just fine.

  5. Joe by reading this and all the comments by members of the Salisbury Fire Department it is apparent the rand and file is out of control. It wouldn't surprise me if this person was one of the ones making those threats to you.

  6. I don't see where he specifically targets anyone on the council.

During weekdays the amount of people who come to work and travel through the Salisbury response area is probably close to 100,000.

There sure are alot of posters who can't man up and sign their name. It seems to me they are the wannabees.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMY!!!!

  9. From Wikipedia:

Salisbury's population at the last census in 2000: 23,743

Wicomico County's population at the last census in 2000: 84,644

Even with moderate to aggressive growth, Salisbury is NOWHERE NEAR 100,000.

Again, quit trying to pump up numbers to overvalue yourself and make it seem like you are "Metro". Bad Boyz of Metro...more like Bad Boi's in the Bunkroom

The key word you used is "Probably". Soooo....what you are saying is you don't know and your statement is a SWAG (stupid wild ass guess)? Don't put out information that you have no idea about. Your statement is nothing more than wishful thinking to make yourself feel more needed and important. That's like me saying my wife is going to the mall to window shop and PROBABLY isn't going to spend any money. It's a ridiculous statement that is wishful thinking.

  11. This is where Asst. Chief Gladwell attacks the two honest ladies of the council:

"The "legislative" branch should be doing just that...legislating. They need to leave the executive branch to its job, which (in part)is managing the department heads.
I have no issue w/ the legislators asking questions, but, anymore, it appears to be w/ malicious intent. If I am wrong, then I certainly offer my apologies here and now. However, these department heads cant seem to be able to turn around in their offices without someone bearing down on them."

He goes on to refer to "micromanaging."

Joe, I am very angry about this. He accuses Campbell and Cohen (without naming them) of "malicious intent," then tries to turn around and apologize if he is wrong.

Too late, mister. You have already done the harm.

We just saw the fire leadership and mayor's office pull another fast one of the forgotten surplusing of tools. Yet this assistant chief thinks it's wrong of Campbell and Cohen to do their jobs?

Hell, I wish those two were in CONGRESS because if we had some oversight there, we might not be having a financial meltdown.

These words of Gladwell's sound just like Gary Comegys who thinks "oversight" isn't something legislators are supposed to do.

In any other town, I think Gladwell would be disciplined for insubordination. But if I'm wrong, I apologize. (How does that feel, Mr. Gladwell?)

These firefighters who think they know what an elected official is supposed to do should quit fighting fires and run for office, to borrow again from Mr. Gladwell.

As for this taxpayer, THANK YOU, Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Cohen. Keep doing what you do because at least YOU remember who YOU serve -- US!

And a P.S. to Mr. Gladwell. You should be kissing those two ladies' shoes. If it weren't for them, you would never have seen an extra dime in your paycheck. Then you have the nerve to slam them? Disgraceful! Not to worry, though. Unlike the mayor, they won't retaliate against you because they aren't like that.

  12. You do not get to the position he has by not at least first proving that you can perform the duties of the very people you will oversee. It is a shame people can not get over themselves enough to put aside personal differences to achieve a common goal (whether you be volunteer or paid) to protect the citizens, visitors, and workers of every town/city/rural area in the country. Face it folks the world does not revolve around the city of salisbury or any sub-section of it.

  13. 9:11am : this is too good to be true. everyone knows about gladwells insecurities and buttkissing tendences. but adams and tull are just plain idots. case in point......wasnt john tull one of the "kids" who were using a hammer and a brick to fire live ammunition? were either of these involved injured? and wasnt bunky adams found in the restroom of a south salisbury establishment knocked out and wallowing in his own urine. this is just another fine example of the "talent" in the sfd.

  14. Wow, so this is where all of the “perfect people” gather? You can say what you want about Jimmie. He is a screw up, just like most people. He is dedicated to his believes and convictions. He can have a bit of an attitude (small mans complex ha ha) But at the same time he will give you the shirt off of his back. He would lay down his life for his friends, and family, anyone who really knows him, knows that is the truth. He pulls no punches, and speaks his mind. He makes mistakes, just like the rest of us. His heart, balls, and ego should be in someone 10 feet tall. His mouth rivals most tunnel openings. Bottom line , like him or not, if you are a real friend, you will have one for life. Don't judge, unless you are ready to be judged.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Gladwell is entitled to his opinion about See. But by bashing council members doing THEIR job, he is guilty of the very thing he is condemning in others.

Isn't that called being a hypocrite?

For him to say the council members have "malicious intent" is way out of line. Especially since he gave no proof of it. He is just as bad as those he condemns, if not worse.

  16. Let me add to the last comment. Jimmy is NOT an elected official. He was HIRED and can be FIRED. ALL Council Members were elected BY THE PEOPLE.

  19. Joe:

I heard I was listed on here so I thought I'd take a look and see. Here goes...

Let me start by stating that I am NOT, NOR do I desire to be any politician. I dont have the "skin" for it and have no aspirations as such.

My post on Soapbox was in response to the digging that Chief See takes on a regualar basis and that's it. It wouldnt matter to me WHO the Chief is...and it obviously doent matter to some either as it wouldnt make a difference WHAT the Chief's name is, some will gripe and complain just simply to do so.
Let's review...they griped about Chief Higgins, griped about Brezler, griped about Lewis, and griped about every other chief that has been in office since I can remember. So no matter who becomes chief, some are going to gripe because they "can".
Read my post...NOWHERE in it do I tell you to stop. In fact, quite the opposite. I encourage gripping as, if done with class and courage, can certainly have a positive impact. It simply needs to be done in an adult manner and with conviction. Unlike many of these comments attacking me, which is their right. However, you're still COWARDS. And what I find interesting is that I dont get this at work. Everyone seems to be my "pal" and treats me as if I'm not this terrible, worthless individual portrayed here. That's ok. As one person stated, I make mistakes, and will continue to do so. But...you know where I stand. You cant deny that. AND...as per JOE's request...I am willing to put my name to something...agree or disagree...I am MAN enough to stand behind my convictions.
Anon 9:11...you are a COWARD and write a big game, but who are you and what credentials do you have to speak of me in any such manner? I'm sure that 10 years from now, we'll all STILL be awaiting an answer to that question...You bother me, not.
As for the population #...If you truly check the transient weekday population of the SFD serviced area, to include our rescue and EMS territory, you will find that my number is pretty accurate...If I'm off a bit, I certainly offer an apology for my miscalculation. I also admit to my mistakes.
As for attacking our council...NICE TRY...
I do not "blatantly attack" anyone. I make no mention of any names or numbers regarding my commentary. My comments indicate exctly what they are supposed to. It is difficult for any department head to run a department in a political climate such as ours is at the current time. There is an obvious rift amongst the council as well as philisophical difference between the legislative branch and the executive branch. Unfortunately, that is simply a truism as I observe it. I didnt create it nor do I wish for it to be as such. I wish it werent.

You can attempt to turn the council women against me if you like. I certainly respect each of them and have had conversations with Mrs. Cohen on numerous occassions. I have not spoken w/ Mrs. Campbell as much but can say I find Mrs. Cohen to be a well educated and well spoken lady. I have no personal issues to which I can attest with either of them.
I stated specifically that I appreciated ANYONE who looks out for MY tax dollars. I do believe that is their (council) job. I also state that the "micormanaging" is not the legislative branch's job. "Micromanaging" is a firm term and my intent for it was not so much towards any council member attempting to "run" a department but truly meant more to state that the philisophical differences held between the two branches makes it extremely difficult to run a department. I should have been more specific with that comment and any council member who took it as such is certainly entitled to chew my behind for doing so. I will accept the consequences for my wording as a man.

Regarding the Deputies and Troopers comment: That's bogus BS. I have NOTHING but respect for those that protect us and work well with them. I make no statements to the contrary and take offense in your attempt to create some "rift" between Fire and Police. We both need each other. We simply protect our districts in different manners. One no less important than the other. I am sure that if you speak with many of them, they would also state that there is much pressure on them to do their jobs safely and many would probably make some of the same statements I did. I will not however attempt to put words in their mouths as that is only for them to state. Many have indicated these same issues to me in the numerous conversations I've had with them.

With regards to "butt kissing"...YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT KNOW ME. Brezler didnt promote me and he and I had words on a few occassions. Ask anyone in the room the day he announced he was leaving. As for Chief See...I nearly lost my promotion almost as fast as I received it because I spoke my mind. To this day, I have stated that I would never apologize for "what" I said, but would for "where" I said it. There have been others as well.
If you wish to say I'm a buttkisser because I have an overall support of the mission statement of the SFD, then I am. Have you read the mission statement? I didnt come up with it, but I've read it and while I cant recite it word for word, I can tell you that I believe in it. Try reading it once...It speaks of serving the citizens and protecting the public. THAT's what I believe in. I do my best, within my role and position to ensure that occurs. I play no part in the politics of the organization and do not attempt to do so. I wouldn't even if I were able. The dept. heads arent the only ones that get the pot shots taken at them...ask any of the council folks or the mayor...Hell..you dont have to ask...simply read.

I have also refrained from attacking Mr. Albero as I have come to believe it serves no purpose. Joe and I have had some email exchanges and while we agree to disagree, I find that I respect him and his right to his blog. I support his right to his opinion whether I agree with it or not. I whole heartedly support the wonderful work he has done with the humane society and applaud such.

It is no secret that Cheif Tull and I are good friends. I will NEVER apologize for that and have found John to be a man of integrity and extreme intelligence. You all can bust on all of us, but as I stated, bring your credentials and experience to the table when you do so you can support your claims. I can bring mine and we can "compare".

To conclude, IF anyone simply reads the original post regarding Chief See, you would read that it simply states I wish him well and have often wondered how he made it this far. I would like to think that he is my friend, but we dont fraternize after hours nor do we call each other for any reason other than work. It wouldnt matter what the Chief's name is, it has been a tough time to be Chief and I would wish that person well. The relief from the pressures of the job have got to be a welcome.

    And to ANON 9:11

You state I'm not worthy of my rank. What education do you have? What classes have you taken? What projects have you lead? Where have you been to further your firefighting education/experience level? How much time have you devoted to learning your (firefighting) trade? Do you have rank yourself, or are you just rank? Come and fight any fire with me inside and keep up if you can, or are you a lawn shepherd that stays outside until the danger passes? Talk about impressive...If you know so much about what it takes to be in my position, show me how to do it better so that I may do so to impress you.

And finally, when are you going to become less of a coward and either put your name to your post or see me in person? If I'm such a loser and lousy firefighter, you should have no issue doing either, right???
    How's that for communication?

Mr. Albero, thanx for the space. Sorry for the lengthy response, but felt it necessary for my part.

    Respectfully,

    Jimmie Gladwell

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jimmy, thank you!

I have ALWAYS respected this man because he has the balls to use his name, no matter what he says.

I happen to agree with Jimmy. If you have something to say, be MAN enough to use your name. Other than that, you're comment is worthless.

While many hide behind anonymous, clearly there are others who are willing to say what's on their mind and not worry about recourse. Hence, Larry Dodd, Bryan Records, Aaron Hudson and Brian Beavers. It's not easy bu at least we can all sleep at night.

  21. Once again personal attacks have surfaced here with the same three targets. In the past I have read the post and kept my comments to myself. Today is a different story.

I have served with AC Tull, AC Gladwell and Acting AC Adams over the years in many capacities. These men have paid their dues and have earned the right to hold their current rank. I would take either of these men with me into battle at a fire. They are proven firefighters and leaders who perform at gametime. There is no wanabe in either of these men. I can tell you first hand that AC Gladwell has respectfully stood toe to toe with Chief See and disagreed. If you know Jimmy, he's not afraid to speak his peace and is very dedicated to the service.

The positions that each of these men hold will never win you a popularity contest. You accept that and do your best. There are two traits that I admire most about each of these men. They have heart and are dedicated to the safety and well being of the men and women they lead. Thats what makes a good person and a good leader in the fire service.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Joe you wouldn't be so quick to defend this character if you knew all the choice comments he has made about you.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yea Joe. You should ask the "A CHIEF" what he's had to say about you inside and outside the firehouse. You should get an interesting response.

  24. It's funny how Mr. Gladwell made the negative posts about the city representatives that employ him and he signs his name as an assistant chief representing the city of Salisbury Fire Department. Then he gets on here to defend himself and and signs as poor little Jimmie Gladwell. Son the damage is already done. You attacked the owner of this blog and two decent representatives of the Salisbury City Council. These women bent over backwards to help you keep your job and pay raises and you attack them. Nothing like biting the hand that feeds you. Shame on you. You should bow your head in disgrace and leave the city while you have a chance.

  25. anonymous 6:39,

First of all, he did so as a MAN by using his real name, not anonymous.

ANY time someone does so with their real name, that's NO insult to me and it not only gains my attention, it gains my RESPECT.

Jimmy and I may not see eye to eye on all the issues brought forth but let me assure you, unlike you, I at least know where that man stands and guess what, I'd personally walk into any fire with that man knowing he'd have my back.

If only there were more men out there like him, Council Members would know what to expect, rather than back stabbing someone like a wussy and hiding behind anonymous. Makes you wonder now who all the people are doing such attacks against them, doesn't it. At least we know the true handfull of good men out there within the Police & Fire Department.

Jimmy, say what you want man. You have my respect, period!

  26. Come on. Get off his back. He's only doing what the voices are telling him to do. Give it a rest.

  27. Mr. Records, I am not a firefighter and I don't attack people personally. I don't like the way the firefighters attack each other. I don't think it's very professional.

I don't see a problem with Mr. Gladwell defending his commander-in-chief. But I think he was wrong, dead wrong, to attack Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Cohen.

All I know about anything is from watching meetings on PAC14 regularly. I have never heard either one of those women disrespect Chief See or Chief Gordy or any of you firefighters. They have fought hard to get money for firefighter salaries and extra people.

On the other hand, I have heard both Mr. See and Mr. Gordy disrespect these councilwomen just for asking questions important to us taxpayers. He accuses them of micromanaging. Well, if the managers weren't wasting our hard-earned money, these bright ladies would not have ask what they do.

And that is their job, sir.

Lots of nasty things get said on this blog and if Mr. Gladwell wants to counter that, fine. But he made his comments political and defamed two fine ladies when he doesn't know jack about what their "intent" is.

I think you are a good firefighter and good man, Mr. Records. But I read stuff like this here today and I have to say, my opinion of the fire department is heading for the toilet.

I won't "man" up and put my name because some of your firefighters have threatened not to come if Joe's house burned down. So maybe they would do that to me too.

    So just sign me,
    Just a disgusted taxpayer

  33. Local 4246

FYI...Joe is aware as we have spoken regarding various issues. Read his own posts...he and I agree to disagree however I find it can be done like men and respectfully once issues and feelings are laid on the table and attended to like men.

You however, are just as much of a coward as any of the rest who wont sign. Funny...I fight for YOUR rights and often put my own job on the line for people like you and you show your "true colors"... yet at work everyone seems to be very friendly towards me and smiley to my face...intersting. Come see me sometime and discuss whatever issues you may have with me...you may find I'm not difficult to talk to at all. Or not...it's your loss if you choose not to do so. The door will always be open should you choose to wish to communicate with me.

I continue to pay my union dues in the hopes that this Local will one day work and be recognized for people just like you. It will serve me absolutely no purpose whatsoever as I will not be allowed to participate as "management". I helped start that Local and knew then that I probably wouldnt reap any benefits from it knowing it would take quite a long time for it to be recognized by the City, if ever.
You carry your "union brotherhood flag" well. I wonder how you'd be you back-stabbing coward if I were to get injured on a scene. Would you help me? Probably not...that's ok...for each one like you, there are plenty more that would. Know this...I dont know who you are, but I would certainly help you if the roles were reversed. Let's hope that neither of us ever has to worry about it as I dont want either of us to get hurt in the first place so we have to test the theory.

Now go and hide behind your CPU screen for a little while more...

  34. To respond to the question as to whether or not I was on duty on the 12th...Absolutely not. You may check my duty tour schedule should you choose to call that a lie as well. Weak attempt...

  36. Joe, you got my point about him working and posting. Since it was on another blog (which isn't blocked) he could have been working and posting while working. Since it wasn
posted directly to this site because this site is blocked. If he was working, it is an interesting post to make on company time...calling out a city council member.

  37. Isn't Norbie that lazy paramedic that used to work in Salisbury but left to work in Ocean City for much better pay and a much lower call volume? Does Norbie even live in Salisbury and even pay taxes in Salisbury? NOT!

With all due respect Norbie keep your nose out of Salisbury business.

Since you are not man enough to leave your name (probably because you are someone whom no one would have any respect for) My county and state taxes do filter down to the city level eventually. So yes I do pay taxes in Salisbury indirectly. And as to referring to whether I am lazy or not my record will speak for itself. You are probably one of those individuals who has no job or just a part time job but hangs out at 16 all the time pretending to be a career firefighter praying you'll get "the big one" so you can boost your ego. I bet you don't even help the career guys out doing daily duties or checking equipment. One of those "oh, the paid guys will get it" types. As for my leaving Salisbury it was a good move for me. I do miss the people I worked with. The "Fightin' 4th" was the best shift to be on then. But I had to think of my family and though I did not want to base my move soley on salary that big 2% raise the city gave us then was a slap in the face. The fact that my nose is in this is because I have a lot of respect for Salisbury Fire Deartment and the men and women who work there. I consider most of them dear friends of mine and as a fellow firefighter/paramedic would do anything for them. It is just sad that a few cowards who hide behind anonymous and spout their useless drivel on this forum make things bad for everybody. Man-up or Shut-up!

  39. I am a county volunteer and have known Chief Gladwell for some time. Jimmy is one of the best instructors our there and has helped alot of firefighters become better firefighters.
By reading his posts, anyone can tell he is an educated man and has a long training record and is very deserving of his rank.
What is kind of funny is that people are jumping to conclusions and saying who he is writing about, but nowhere in his post does he mention any names, sexes, or number of people. I wonder why that is. Others are writing names but he didnt. Do you suppose that implies a guilty conscience since Jimmy really didnt attack anybody in specific but others are quick to point out names? That seemed odd to me.

  41. Why do these firefighters feel the need to have these gay nicknames? Bad Boyz of Metro? Come on. Now the Fighting 4th? What the hell is this crap? More like the Fudgepacking 4th. Come on...grow up. You're not in the fourth grade anymore.

Who cares what they call themselves? If it bothers you that bad, you must be an extremely unhappy person or are passionately cynical.
