Here's A Thought For Our New President

A Patriotic retirement:

There're about 40 million people over 50 in the work force; pay them $1 million apiece severance with stipulations:

1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

Some people make things so complicated when they don't have to be.

  1. Good idea. It would only cost the government $40,000,000,000,000 (trillion) to do it. As long as they're alreadying spending money they don't have, why not just print up another $40 trillion?

  2. Don't forget to make the cars hybrids so we can help solve the energy crisis, too!

  3. That plan would cost 4 TRILLION dollars.

  4. Joe, you need to report on the $85K in bonuses to public employees in Worcester County.

This is not something that should go unnoticed.

  5. Cute, but if my math is right that's 40 trillion dollars. Quite a bit more than the stimulus. Check your math Joe.

  6. 9:11 Better redo your math. 13 zeros behind a 4 is $40 trillion, not $4 trillion.

  7. I seriously doubt that the jobs that the people in their 50's have would easily be taken over by snot nosed brats right out of college.

Also I seriously doubt that American car companies could manufacture 40 million cars. They only sell about 15-20 million a year normally so they probably are not anywhere close to being set up to produce that many cars in 1 year, let alone 2 or 3.

Another bit..if you give 40 million people $1 million and tell them they have to buy a house, wouldn't that drive prices of houses up to the moon again?

  10. I'd be able to get it all done with $100k, which would equal the $4t? I'm good with money, until they just start printing it willy nilly.
