  1. What a piss-poor voter turnout!! People just don't care!

  2. That woman should of been stopped tonight. Lets hope April will be the last we see of Shanie!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Isn't Chaney in this? There are more than 1100 voters. Landslide? Or am I wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  4. WHAT!!!?????????
sad so sad what is wrong with the people in District 1 who bothered to throw their votes away? What are the citizens of Salisbury thinking?

  6. How did Tim Chaney do?

That is sad to see Shanie get those votes. How dumb is the electorate....

    ReplyDelete
  7. as i read this on the board of elections site, aren't these with 65% reporting??

    ReplyDelete
  8. Jim, I'll call every Salisbury resident I know to make sure you get their vote in April!

Looks like Bubba and Shanie's developement favor may of helped them along with the renter bribes. This really SUCKS!

  9. "Mayoral - Does not include Camden"

    What does that mean?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Are these all the numbers for shields and do they include the absentees? (I'm thinking not) woe is that racs. Did all those mayoyal voters not cast a ballot for this office?
    WAY TO GO, JIM!

  11. Gary Comegys - 266

Looks like there are at least 266 IDIOTS out there!

    ReplyDelete
  12. the caldwell - comegy's race is too close to call, the other 35% could really rock that poll

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anon 8:42 it means they have not finished counting Camden votes yet. Bob Caldwell could very well give Bubba the BOOT. Hang in there folks.

To answer another anon question, NO, this does not include the absentee ballots. As far as I know those numbers won't be available until Thursday or Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  14. hummmm Very Very Poor #s for Bubba!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Looks like Della Penna helped Bubba get through the primaries.

Mike you are a stupid idiot and you should have listened to everyone who asked you to drop out of the race. You my friend may have ruined this city by your never ending stupidity. I change my mind about supporting you for a District 2 seat.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks Sis...

Refresh my memory, how many absentee ballots.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wow District 1 you are clueless morons for supporting Shanie Shields.

  20. Anon 8:50 I was told around 200 absentee ballots but don't hold me to that. It would be nice if there were enough absentee votes to get Chaney back in the running. You never know, it could happen.

While Shanie is quite possibly the worst politician to breathe air, she does a lot for her church and that carries a lot of weight in her community.

    ReplyDelete
  21. If ya add up Ireton's and Caldwell's votes I don't think Bubba stands a chance; that doesn't mean we all need to slack up in gettin people to vote! Landlord money will try it's best to find a way to get their puppet in there!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I want a Jim Ireton sign to put in my front yard...

    ReplyDelete
  23. I heard thru the grapevine Shaney lost her house and lives in Princess Anne! Someone needs to look into this.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anon 9:07 go to www.friendsofjimireton.com and let them know you want a sign. I'm sure they'll get one out to you ASAP.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It' shar to believe that only about 10% of those who went to the polls decided not to cast a vote foe city counsel. What is up with that? are these numbers to be believed??????

    ReplyDelete
  26. District one can bite the bullet once again the stupidity of your choices once again proves that there are very few operating brain in that sector. I bow to the sky and ask for absentee ballots to show some people have brains in this distric and aren't snowballed

    ReplyDelete
  27. You had better believe Comegys is kicking into down right dirty and nasty mode right about now. If you expect a clean run for the next month think again. Remember Gary = Barrie and that woman has never played fair or honest. Watch his true colors come out in the next few days.

With any luck Caldwell will boot him with the absentee count.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 90% didn't vote for a council position? I smell a rat.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Who ever called me atupid idiot does not have the courage to stand up in this city to try and make a change as I did. so if anyone should be called an idiot it is not me. At least I took a stand, now I hope Jim wins it all and will help him any way I can.
If you were not so ignorant you would post your name.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Is anything going to change for the good in Salisbury? The same old crap keeps getting elected, taxes go up, profits go down, we all suffer.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mike, that is very big of you to do so only minutes after the results are in. I'm sure Jim will be appreciative of your support.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Where are the rest of the votes for city council? 90% are missing?

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is certainly encouraging. Its not over yet, but its a good look into the crystal ball. The way I see it, 522 people that voted for Mr Caldwell will likely throw their support to Mr Ireton in April. Both of these men would do a good job. Even if a percentage swing to Comegys, the Ireton camp will still benefit greatly.

The Shields vote doesn't surprise me. I saw Marion Barry get elected time and again with a terrible track record. The fact of the matter is that sadly D 1 just doesn't care. Oh well, maybe they will see the light. Its a great day Salisbury. Pat yourself on the back and lets work hard for an April victory.

    ReplyDelete
  34. So help me here please...even if Jim Ireton gets elected the council votes will still be the same old 3-2 and he's gonna play hell getting anything done.

Anyone else see it like this?

P.S. Michael Della Penna, good job showin some class and being willing to help Ireton get elected.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 1214 people voted. Where are the 1214 votes in the city council count?

    ReplyDelete
  36. way to go Ireton
    lets keep the momentum going

    ReplyDelete
  37. Shanie will get my vote...........when she can show me proof she actually lives in District One. Hell I'll take proof she lives in the city limits of Salisbury. I'll up her one more, prove you live in Wicomico County. Proof means you entering a residence and not exiting during the hours of 11 pm to 6 am, and this must be done for 2 months straight. Who else out there would contribute to a fund to take this to court?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Concerning the votes; I'm lookin at the election page right now and the way I see it only 4 precincts voted for the council positions....not all 20 precincts. That's the variation in the votes I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  39. to the best of my knowledge "district 2" couldnt vote for council....

My polling place was Harvest Baptist and there was no option. I only had the vote for mayor...

    ReplyDelete
  40. OMG--how sad regarding the council seat. I will pray that caldwell pushes bubba out of the runnin

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anon 9:20... only those in that district got to vote in that council spot....

my vote was only for mayoral run-off

    ReplyDelete
  42. I was speaking to a co-worker who thought that the percentage of votes mattered, so only voted for one candidate. Frankly, the "pick two" is a bit confusing, especially for new voters.

Congratulations to Jim Ireton, and Michael Della Penna is a class act!

    ReplyDelete
  43. 2053 votes cast for mayor, 205 for council.... anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jim S.... sounds that way to me as well... but I predict president bails out without the support of our current mayor...

  45. Hey Everyone,

Head on over to friendsofjimireton.com or send an email to jimiretonformayor@gmail your donations of money or your time will make a HUGE difference! Comegys is going to get dirty right away--don't let him get away with it! If you hear a nasty rumor or a personal attack, just call Jim and ask him about it! He is not a perfect person, none of us are, but he truly believes in helping us out. He is in it for the right reasons! Thanks everyone!!!!!!!! Fight for 4 more weeks and we can win it all!!!!
Bob Caldwell and Mike Della Penna, you are true patriots and the community is better for all of the work you have done. You are honorable men. And I am rambling because it has been a long day. Congrats Jim!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. That's a pathetic voter turnout. 2000 votes in a City of 25,000? You gotta be kidding me. It makes me wonder why you all beat your brains out. Nobody cares!

    ReplyDelete
  47. The people od district 2 didn't vote for council in the primary.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Don't despair maybe Ms. Polk will be able to defeat Shanie in the general election. Hopefully she is better than Shanie and will work with Ireton.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Help is on the way! Yeah

    ReplyDelete
  50. District 1 is configured to get an African American elected, so it really isn't a surprise to see Tim finish third.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The other district didn't vote due to only having 2 people running.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anon 9:30 your statement is not completely true. At least 2000 people care. It will be those 2000 people that help bring this city back to the great place it once was where people were proud of their hometown.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Caldwell might still pull it off with the absentee votes. Gary is SWEATING tonight! If nothing else, the city of Salisbury owes Caldwell, Della Penna, and Ireton a big thanks for making Gary and his establishment buddies very, very nervous right now! Don't stop here--join the campaign to beat Bubba!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Who is Ireton running against in the General Election?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Congrats Jim!!! I guess the people of Salisbury aren't satisfied with the way things are currently in Salisbury. Even if Caldwell's votes are split evenly between Comegeys and Ireton, Ireton still wins. Should be interesting with Ireton as Mayor and Comegeys still on council.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The voter turnout is equal to the amount of homeowners to renters in Salisbury. 12,000 registered voters and 2,000 of them voted. Look for Gary and the Mayor to go bare knuckles in the next month. You 800 plus that voted for Jim need to get signs in your yard. 800 Ireton for Mayor signs around the city!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Don't jump to any conclusions yet...there are 200 ballots to be counted on Thursday. That can translate into 400 votes, if they all vote for 2. The 38 votes can yet be overtaken!

    ReplyDelete
  58. This totally makes no sense to me--I mean Ireton and Caldwell are essentially on the same exact page, why didn't voters vote for both and knock Comegys off the ballot? It could have been so easy.

    ReplyDelete

Not only that, they need to write checks to Jim and Debbie Campbell's campaign. They need to go door to door for these two candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  60. This is a strong message to Mayor Barrie. You wore out your welcome. Good riddance.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Congratulations to Jim Ireton for taking the primary!
Thanks to both Bob Caldwell and Michael Della Penna for running upfront and honest campaigns!

Salisbury, the voter turnout was just about what was expected for a winter election, an election that was put in this season by Barrie's minions some years ago to minimize the vote and keep incumbents in place. May be that'll change.
But NOW we have to work even harder, to keep Gary in his second place, where he belongs. Get those friends and neighbors out to vote in April!!
    Help IS on the way!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Remember Barrie's contract with the people. What the heck happened to that? What a disappointment she has been

    ReplyDelete
  63. Barrie's motto has been "my way or the highway". Chief Dykes and Bob Eaton were two that met their fate and now it is time for her to hit the highway. Don't waste any time.

Because some only cast 1 vote... Duh!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Let's hope Comegys continues to let the Mayor campaign for him. It will be a much easier race with barrie in the mix. Go Jim.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I can see Mare Barrie now stomping her feet and throwing a temper tantrum. "I have to get MY way! I have to get MY way!!" Barrie and Gary have been exposed by the power of the blogoshere, for the frauds that they are. I can't wait to feel good about the city I live in again. It won't be easy to reverse 12 years of dismal leadership. Many people will howl and scream, but the new Mayor will need to be tough in order to get crime under control. The police will need to be out in full force and be in everyone's business who is on the streets.

  67. This election was sad again due to the fact the city is mostly renters and not actual homeowners who give a real crap about this city and it will NOT change until that fact changes, it is not hard to figure out at all. There is no way I would ever return to live in the city limits of Salisbury.

The city just like the election has been bought by special interest groups such as the Slumlords. Thanks for nothing Dinglebarrie, you worthless POS!!

  69. Crack down on crime no matter what it takes, make the plaza a one-way road with diagonal parking, no fire boat. Give the SPD the manpower and resources to do the job, but demand a lot in return. Everyone on the streets and be proactive against drugs, prostitutes, and gangs, less on chasing college students. Work with the county and state to get some grants to hire court personnel to handle the increased case load.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 2000 people didn't vote -- remember, people could vote for two. So there was a thousand something who voted.

Only about 100 voted in District 1. There was no primary for District 2 because there are only 2 candidates, so it is already decided who goes to the general.

As to blaming Ireton voters for not voting for Caldwell as number 2, tons did (the ones I know anyway). It could just be that some people were confused about the vote for 2. It's a weird system. Tonight's results would be a lot clearer if they just took the top 2 vote getters.

There might be enough absentees in District 1 to reverse Shields' and Polk's positions.

I also heard there were 200 absentees. So Comegys better not celebrate yet. That's a big enough lot that it could change Caldwell's position. Depends on what areas they came from.

Tim Chaney did a great job since he didn't have a "machine" behind him, just good old fashioned hard work on a working man's schedule. Keep an eye on him for the future.

For those bashing Michael Della Penna, knock it off. Della Penna had the guts to run and threw some great comments into the forum mix. His support of Jim Ireton is gracious and welcome.

IF Comegys stays in, count on him to throw every nasty thing he can find, including a clogged kitchen sink and backed up toilet, at Ireton. Don't stand for this, Salisbury.

IT IS TIME TO TAKE OUR CITY BACK!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Joe, you got any pictures of Shanie holding up Gary signs last election?

    ReplyDelete
  72. If city employees that don't live in the city were allowed to vote Bubba would have been a "has been" right now. These elections affect us in more ways than many of you can imagine!

  73. 2053 votes cast for mayor, 205 for council.... anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

    9:28 PM

    ==========================

Geez, no wonder Salisbury is in the state it is in. Voters dont even realize what is going on.
The whole city could vote for mayor... only those in district 1 could vote for council. Get it yet???

    ReplyDelete
  74. Does anyone besides me think its stupid to have a primary election where you get to cast two votes for four candidates for mayor ?? Who came up with such a dumb idea?

    ReplyDelete
  75. 11:24, I think it's major dumb.

As for the "why didn't all Ireton people vote for Caldwell," speaking for two people I know, they told me they weren't going to vote for two because they didn't know who Caldwell or Della Penna were or what they stood for and they sure as hell weren't going to vote for Comegys.

I told them what I knew, but some people like to know well who they cast a vote for. And after the Louise Smith Dupe the Public election, can't say as I blame them!

Those of us who watch the races closely too often take for granted that everyone does. Not so.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Joe, do I remember you posting that both Muir Boda and Shanie Shields said at some forum that they backed Gary Comegys?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Capsfan9, Yes, I get it.
2053 mayoral votes; since everybody gets 2 votes, divide by two. 1,026 voters in two districts; again divide by two, = 513. Total district one votes; 205.
WHERE are the rest of the votes????
    Get it?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Did anyone see that Church Street thug holding a Comegys sign yesterday afternoon at Harvest Baptist Church? What kind of camp is that? Reminds me of Obama tactics in Philly last November.

Everyone holding signs and supporting Caldwell and Ireton were first class even though they looked cold. Thank you to all the good people that want to take our city back.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Wow, this section is full of support and some serious mis conceptions about the electorial process in the City. To my understanding, the current Mayor set the current election rules.
That should explain some of the voter confusion. The electorial process has many flaws, but it was designed by Barry Tilghman to do exactly what it does, confuse voters, and keep the number of person who vote out of the mix.

It breaks my heart that the process is misunderstood, and so few people vote.

Perhaps this blog, and others will post some messages about the process.

..did you know that you can call the board of elections and get an absentee ballot? No "reason or excuse" necessary. It is your right to vote absentee,
and it is a simple two step process.

Help is on the way. Jimmy Ireton, will work to exhaustion for the people of this city. He is that little Salisbury Kid, that is now a huge Man both physically and mentally. But he is Huge because he is real, he is sincere, and he is willing to work to make Salisbury the city it should/could be.

IF each of us does our part, if you can't volunteer, send money, Jim Ireton will need it to stand up to the evil and hatred and dirty politics of the Comegys/Tilghman/Shields group, they have proven that they will stoop as low as necessry to win.

Let's begin to take back our city.

P.S. As soon as Barry Tilghman and Gary Comegys and Shaney Shields are gone from the process. There will be less Anonymous comments. on the blogs. We will no longer fear reprisal for our coments, from the Mayor and her henchmen, we will be free to have open discussion. Wow, do people realize that this is a Democracy? and we have been "dictated" to in so many ways. Yikes.

  80. 0:45PM raises an interesting point. Take is a step further. Boda supports Comegys and from what I have seen they are very chummy. We had better do all we can to help Campell get reelected. Or we will see 4 to 1 votes again with the council stopping anything that Mayor Ireton tries to do. Same for getting on board with Cynthia Polk. We need to keep Campbell who works for us, send Shields home, and we could start to see change for the better.

Blame influence peddling, not the people of my district.

My support will be behind Jim in everyway, I'm still prepared to do a lot of walking. I'm not running away with my tail between my legs.

Thanks to everyone that voted and supported me in my campaign. May God bless you all! I'll collect my signs today and save them for 2013!
