Comments Are Back

We seemed to have slowed down last week in comments, these past few days have really done well comment wise.

Tuesday, 386 comments.
Wednesday, 251 comments.
Thursday, 274 comments.
Friday, (so far) 212 comments.

While I don't encourage anyone to use anonymous while making comments, 99% of the people on Blogger do just that. You cannot be traced back, no matter what anyone tells you. So feel free to make whatever comment you like. Just know there are no curse words allowed and you need to stay on topic. If you're here just to make a personal attack against me or someone else, there's a good chance your comment won't go through.

In the mean time, thanks for visiting and commenting.

  1. Did you know that Hannable killed 70,000 Romans in a six hour period?
    (they had no guns)

  2. Post a few articles about the Obamanation and how he has declared a war on prosperity. That will surely generate a few comments.

  3. I really and truly believe that it was Hannibal lol

  4. i personally think people don't use their real name, because people who don't like them might start attacking them. Who wants that? So most people use anonymous to voice their opinion without the fear of personal attack.

  5. i believe i saw a comment by you, Joe, a week and a half ago that contained more than a couple expletives. but i didnt want to derail the conversation so i let it go ;)

anyway, are you SURE that it can't be traced back to us? I mean, surely it logs the IP address right? I mean, you can see my IP right now can't you? So we're mainly trusting that a) you will respect our privacy and rights and b) your computer won't be hacked.

You seem to be a good guy to me, Joe, but my father told me not to trust anyone.

  7. anonymous 10:59,

Let me say this to you. If the FBI came to my door asking me to give up ANY information based around a comment made here that was NOT life threatening, they would NOT get it.

However, if you or anyone else threatens the life of someone else, I'll give everything I have available to the FBI or ANY other agency asking. I would flat out hand deliver it to Chief Webster if he asked.

ANYTHING other than that, I will not give it up, period. Now if there has been ANYONE you have ever known in your entire lifetime that has proven that they will NOT give up their sources, that would be me. I think you know what lawsuit I'm talking about too.

Now you have it in writing with my name attached. That being said, do you actually think I'm going to allow a comment to go up that was inappropriate like that? NO! But let me warn ALL of you right here and now. If you EVER threaten someone's life, I will volunterily send that information to the proper authorities and have done so in the past.

The Anti Albero Bloggers would love to have others believe they have something to be afraid of. Funny how they go off regularly because I refuse to allow their comments and swear they'll never be back. Yet our numbers have NEVER dropped and in fact have only increased. No one has anything to be afraid of and IF you're that nasty where you have to attack someone, (including me) and I reject your comment, too bad. It's my Blog. I don't charge any of you to come here and it's my right to do so.

Salisbury News has changed over the years and while we now have a huge audience we will continue to be responsible with what we say and do here. Enjoy, relax and comment away because no one is getting any information out of me.

  12. Stop worrying. It takes a lot of research to match IP addresses up with individual people and most go through providers so the only way to get them is from the provider who won't give them unless it's to law enforcement.

  13. Well sign your name and then you have nothing to worry about.

  14. Whew! After all that I forgot my own name!

  15. In my opinion, Mr. Joe protects us if we want to remain anonymous better than the local government protects us! Because of my job, sometimes I post anonymous and sometimes I post my real name.It depends on the post. I feel safe enough here to state whatever I think. Even if I CAN be traced, the worst thing I have probably posted is that someone was an idiot or before cussing was not allowed...a much worse name.

  16. You know what really burns my britches....Wawa. I mean how long can you keep a pot of coffee sitting out without attracting some sort of bacteria. And I take it my IP address will be safe from the Wawa corporation...JOE!
