it was that guy with the gun
ReplyDeleteThis same thing happens in my area(Somerset County) too....last summer our road signs were either uprooted and stolen, painted over,or shot up almost every weekend. The same vandals would spray paint every road sign they did not tear down, and spray paint the road itself. If the culprits were caught and had to pay for those damaged/stolen signs, they wouldnt think it was so funny.
ReplyDeleteIt's smiling at me! :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad we don't have that encoded ammo yet...lol j/k
ReplyDeletehow in the world is a stop sign almost $1,000.00?
ReplyDeleteIf we all didnt have guns this would of never happened!

ReplyDeleteThis is a county job!
There will be three guys in the truck (a big a$$ diesel at that), two guys flagging traffic, a one guy holding the wrenches while one guys holds the step ladder, one guy on the step ladder. This is a major undertaking!
1:28 PM
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have read closer. It was numerous signs. Many of these signs were nearly new. I saw the guys putting them up not too long ago. These kids need some home training. Maybe if their caught and the parents have to fork up the money, they will keep better tabs on their wherabouts.

ReplyDeleteSorry, but your mistaken.
2:41 how is that,i am "mistaken"
ReplyDeleteIs it not a county job? Who would make the repaires?
Regardless its a taxpayers burden, and I don't care who does it, the idea is the same!
Question:
ReplyDeleteWhat is yellow and sleeps six?
Answer:
A county sign replacement truck.
Nice grouping. How many yards?

Whoa, Dude! You forgot the guy who sits in the truck with the engine running AND the one who supervises. Sort of the way that Gary Comegys came up in the world. I'll be that he had each one of those positions on his way up the career ladder.

First of all, it is REPAIRS, second of all, I do not disagree that it is "a county job", I simply disagree with the statement you made of the number of people it takes to perform this job. I must assume you meant it to be funny, simply because the county only has two people who perform this job county-wide. Your reference to the taxpayers burden- hopefully you are referring to the burden placed on the taxpayers by vandals who constantly destroy property throughout the county. If you dispute my claims, I urge you to get up off your stereotyping behind, make a few phone calls, and then come back on here and tell me I am wrong. Of course, it seems it is easier for people to complain on a blog or in the paper than it is to actually pick up the phone and call the source to find out information. (correct information)
In all seriousness, I seem to recall not too long ago, a post about kids pulling up a bunch of stop signs. Now I see this post. I am afraid if this keeps going, there will be a post about some poor wife, father, mother, son, daughter, etc. that is killed at an intersection where these kids thought it would be funny to pull one of these pranks. I guess this wont be a big deal until that happens. I have heard of it happening before. If anyone sees these types of activities happening, at least get a tag number and make a phone call. Hopefully we wont see a tragic post in the future regarding this topic.
ReplyDelete1:28 remember when the signs are replaced by county or state hiway workers , there will be six men needed to man the truck while one actually does the work!!!
ReplyDelete5:18 PM
ReplyDeleteIt's highway, not hiway.
I find it humorous how people scream about "waste" in government, but waste like this seems to be a joke.
ReplyDelete4:59 Mr Perfect
ReplyDeleteThank you for correcting my spelling issues,
I know all about the county waste, Guess what bimbo, I live in a development in Delmar, I have the privelage of watching a county truck with atleast four guys in it come into my neighborhood and sit in the cul de sac until it is time to head back in so they can get a full day. I dont have to call anyone, I know first hand about the waste. You must be one of the lazy a$$ people I am referring to.
If the Democrates wouldnt of raised the taxes on cigarettes so much it would save at least $2 bucks on the inmate fabracation fees. :)
ReplyDelete1:04 -- that's pretty funny. I had to go back for a second look. It really is smiling at you.
ReplyDeletewow ! could mel gibson posted that smiley on the stop sign ! kinda looks like matt creamers smile.
ReplyDelete8:17 PM
ReplyDeleteBimbo? Boy you are bright.
First of all, it is privilege, not privelage.
Second of all, the county only has one truck capable of holding more than 3 people, unless you are sitting on someones lap, and that is a limbing truck.
Thirdly, why are you sitting at home all day watching this, maybe you are the lazy a$$. Probably claim you have a disability.
Fourthly, if their is indeed a truck that sits there everyday, all day, as you claim, maybe you should call with the vehicle number. Until then you are just a liar. You know, there are other jurisdictions that have yellow trucks and work on the roads. Especially since you said a subdivision IN Delmar. That would be maintained by Delmar. But I am sure you know that because you are a know it all.
Fifthly, I do more work in a day, than you do in a month. This can be confirmed by the fact that you have nothing better to do that watch out the window at four fictitious guys all day. Or maybe you just wish there were four guys outside your house.
Sixthly, if anyone see's this waste that Mr. Brilliant is talking about, please by all means, get a vehicle number and call the correct jurisdiction and report it. Because you know, it wouldn't be fair for me to have to work hard everyday, when someone else gets to goof off all day in front of Mr. Brilliant's house.

ReplyDeleteI am home because I have worked hard and can do as I please. I am only 6 miles from my office and make more money by 8 am in one day than you make all week.
I accidentally make more than you do on purpose. My life isn't the topic here though. I don't give a damn about a missed spelled word, but I do appreciate the fact that I have been corrected. Thank you! Now put your little PDA away and get that trash picked up from that ditch or get that damn sign replaced. I demand it, you work for me, the taxpayer!
Get a life, I have called and am told that this will be looked into. Wait a second,......Nothing happened. Suprised aren't you!
You must be one in the truck. If that be the case you know which cul de sac I am talking about, we can settle it there!
8:46 AM, Mr. Brilliant:
ReplyDeleteI believe I made my point, although you have no idea what I do for a living (you are way off), nor what I make. I do know this about you however; you are a pompous, ignorant person. Your line of work certainly isn't in public relations, journalism, or as an English teacher (misspelled, not missed spelled, surprised, not suprised). All I have done is to simply point out some general misconceptions that you may have. If you don't like the fact that you are wrong, I am sorry. I just find it odd that instead of being disturbed about some punks tearing up signs at your expense, you would rather bash the guy(s) that have to clean up the mess, and do so without knowing what the he!! you are talking about. Maybe you’re the one that needs to get a life. Since you have so much time on your hands, maybe you can do a community service and pick some trash up out of the ditches, or pick up the latest copy of Webster’s. (That’s a dictionary!!!!!) rotflmao

ReplyDeleteThe area where I live in Delmar is in no way maintained by "Delmar".
I do not live in Delmar "city", and how many subivisions are in Delmar city limits. You are real bright as well. You seem to know a lot about the county, which leads me to believe you may be one of the county officials responsible for the waste. In no way do I support the vandals, and yes my first comment started out with a bit of sarcasm. The "ignorance" is in reply to your,
"I urge you to get up off your stereotyping behind, make a few phone calls, and then come back on here and tell me I am wrong. Of course, it seems it is easier for people to complain on a blog or in the paper than it is to actually pick up the phone and call the source to find out information. (correct information)"
4:59 PM comment.
I have made phone calls and nothing has been done.
I have picked up trash in my area and on my roads to do something with my time. I do happen to care. I do not wish to go "tit for tat" with you as we have done because I have obviously struck a nerve. This leads me to believe that you have close ties with the county and possibly some responsibility, no one else seems to be so offended. I guess I thought county workers were "working" and maybe not on here. You know how many trucks they have, how many they can seat, and certain facts about the limb truck.
Have you received any fuel or tires from the county?
Honestly, I didn't mean to strike a nerve. But if I did then see if this sounds familiar:
"If you don't like the fact that you are wrong, I am sorry".
Mr.6:05,
ReplyDelete"Have you received any fuel or tires from the county?"
Guess I will have to waive the white flag on that one.
I wasn't going leaving until I won!
ReplyDeleteGood night!
