Mayor McDermott has broken his silence to the citizens of Pocomoke City who get their news from the internet and has updated his blog!
On February 2,nd you will never believe what he posted ....
A Police Report by Gum! Can you believe it?
Calling it his 'weekly update' (yet the last post was September 4th) , he told of the home invasion in Butlers Village last week and mentiond a theft from a car, and someone passing counterfiet $5.00 bills.
Mayor McDermott also reported that police have served 9 abandoned vehicle violations with 23 determined to be Maryland residents with VA tags.
According to earlier inquiry into this situation Mayor McDermott stated that it was not the 'town police departments' job to look for 'out of state' tags within our city, but the job of the State Police if they cared.
I wonder if Boss Hogg got a grant from the State to round up these criminals, or if the Pocomoke PD just didn't have anything else to do, or it was the job all along and just now is something being done about it ?
We don't know, we haven't recieved a police report in ages.
Seeins that he's the Mayor and all, I would hope that he gets a report on what's going on in the city from the Police Department! But I guess emailing me the portion of the report that I have repeatedly asked for must be beyond them.
While the Mayor has not been able to take the heat in the Tattler's kitchen the Citizens of Pocomoke deserve to know what is going on in their City for which they pay the salaries of each and everyone of the these people who continually ignore us unless they want to run for office.
I am the only one that has asked for these reports every week and we shouldn't have to wait until the Mayor decides he is going to become a blogger again to recieve them!
I was told by friends that I personally convinced into voting for him, that they have received a letter from the Mayor announcing his candidacy as Delegate and asking them for their financial support to get to Annapolis.
They said the letter stated that crime was low, taxes were low, and business was good, and that he supported upon government.
Wow, that is exactly what he told Billy and I he was gonna do when he stood in our living room and we gave him his very first campaign contribution.
The More Things Change, The More Things Say the Same.
Counterfeit money is usually associated with drug dealers. They go together like a bow legged woman and a knock kneed man.
ReplyDeletethat's funny!
ReplyDeleteHow can the Police Dept give the Mayor updates on police activity for his website, yet there is nothing available for public consumption?

All we asked for were the call logs or police blotter as newspapers have been provided for centuries. They keep a log of calls and its not handwritten into a book, so they can e-mail the file without any extra effort.
Then the is approval by silence on the Honiss Cane issues.
Put aside the fact that there has been no cry of rightous indignation from the ‘Bully Pulpit’ of the Mayor about Cane’s self disqualification, lets just look at the junk cars.
It took almost a year AFTER Cane had supposedly been given a 30-day notice to remove, that the vehicles were actually removed from his frmer residence.
The eyesore at his ‘place of business’ on Fourth Street has never been resolved to an acceptable community standard. (measurable by non-corrupt municipalities)
Then there is the issue of the City of Pocomoke using a person for the ‘building inspector’ who is not certified nor qualified to perform a home inspection to the standards required for a home loan.
That same uncertified building inspector recommended that Mayor McDermott hire an unlicensed home improvement contractor to paint his home, which he did, even after being warned the person was not properly licensed with the State of Maryland.
As a side note over 30 homes and buildings have been demolished with the City taking ownership of the underlying land, based upon recommendations by the City’s unqualified “building inspector” with many of the seized properties being sold to Boss Hogg cronies.
Which brings us to the City Manager ‘Boss Hogg’ Russ Blake problem.
Mayor McDermott was given the golden opportunity to rid the citizens of Pocomoke City of our unelected dictator upon his election to office.
The Mayor let each and every citizen down by refusing to terminate Boss Hogg’s employment with the city for self dealing and violation of ethics regulations.
Since that time Boss Hogg has continued to rule with an iron fist and even destroyed public government documents, that would have incriminated him, with the knowledge of the Mayor & City Council. This act was a crime yet the City Manger did not recieve as much as a reprimand from the Mayor.
The tenure of City Managers is 3 to 7 years on average because the office is one of a political apointee and to keep any one person from amassing too much power. Boss Hogg is the longest sitting city manager in US history at 33-years and counting.
Statistically crime is down because the police are making less arrests and not making the call logs public.
There have been more murders in the Pocomoke area during Mike McDermotts administration than any other time in the cities history, yet he claims crime is down.
I really don’t see how the man can run for State Delegate based on his record, because if one looks objectively, its pathetic on the things that count.
Delegate Norm Conway who represents our area, is chair of the finance committee which is the most powerful position a delegate can obtain.
Why would we give up a representative who wields virtually more power than any other member for a freshman who has been at the helm of the most openly corrupt municipal government in the State?
HA! Told ya so. I was sitting next to him in Ruby Tuesday the evening he met with those folks that he was trying to convince that he would make a great candidate for Delegate. The claims he was making were hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe funniest part was that he didn't have a clue as to who I was.
If he can't take the 'heat' in the Tattler forum, he ain't gonna hold up in the least in the position of Delegate!!!!
Trust me, I know a little bit about the job. He also has absolutely no class, which never hurts. He would be totally out of his element in Annapolis.

More like the mayor of Pocomoke has broken his wind huh? ; )
