Salisbury News & Blognetnews Delaware

In case some of you hadn't noticed, we have removed the Delaware Blognetnews Ranking on the right hand side of the Blog.

The reason we chose to do so was because the Editor of the Delaware Blognetnews decided, (without mentioning a word to us) that they received too many complaints from the Delaware Blogs that Salisbury News was dominating that Site with too many articles and that their Blogs were not getting the attention they feel they deserve.

So the Editor chose to keep the Salisbury News Link up on the right hand side but our articles would no longer be seen on the main page. Since it can't be seen, there's no doubt that Salisbury News will simply drop in ratings, unless I have a bigger following from Blognetnews than I thought. Nevertheless, we chose to remove that icon and see how things go for a while.

My personal opinion about this matter is, they should have contacted me about the problem for starters and without a question, they should have contacted me about their decision to remove us from the main page.

The idea is to deliver news and information and while Salisbury News was delivering massive hits to Blognetnews, this would have been the professional way of handling this issue. Instead, they'll leave Salisbury News up on their Site because they don't want to lose all that traffic, but screw us in the end by making it that much more difficult to find our articles.

I'm not so certain this was such a good move because we have achieved the #1 Ranking in the state of Maryland for the 5th week in a row, dominating the #1 spot for 2009.

I respect the Delaware Bloggers and appreciate their work. However, the answer is, (IMHO) to create more articles themselves and COMPETE rather than crying foul. Perhaps it's time to create our own Website that takes FREE RSS Feeds from any Blogger they want, even without permission and design a ranking system that actually works. Then we can sell advertising there as well and make lots of money off of Bloggers working their rear ends off and reward them back with a percentage of the take?

It's a big undertaking but hey, I've got nothing but time anyway, so why not. I'm sure GA Harrison will disagree with this Post, that's his right. GA is the Editor of the Delmarva Blognetnews and felt they had the right to remove us. However, he also agreed that the way they handled it was wrong.

Maybe one day they'll figure out a way to only link just Delaware news and information to that Site. After all, we are right on the Maryland/Delaware line and cutting us off and punishing you for delivering too many articles just doesn't seem right. I'll add, many of the people reading Salisbury News live in Delaware but work, shop and enjoy the Salisbury, Maryland.

  1. If they don't keep up with what's going on in Salisbury, they may be surprized and get robbed while trying to shop or eat here.
