A Letter To The Editor In Support Of Campbell

When election time comes, many people make the same mistakes by electing the wrong people to office. This time, I want to ensure to vote for the right candidate for Salisbury City Council. Hence, I strongly support Debbie Campbell. During her four-year tenure as councilwoman, she has reached out to supporters and nonsupporters on important issues affecting citizens and taxpayers of Salisbury.

Certainly as a leader, she has earned my respect and support; I highly recommend her for a second term.

In addition, Campbell -- like no other local politician -- has truly shown an interest in neighborhood issues such as crime watch and residency. Four years ago, I disagreed with her support on the 4-to-2 ordinance; I still do. Yet her advocacy and determination to work for the people who sent her to council chambers is admirable in all respects.

Her sincere concerns about public safety -- and, of course everything related to taxpayers pockets -- are some of the many qualities for which she should be returned to serve another four years.

At this time, I am not impressed with any of the four candidates for mayor. I know they will say and do whatever they can to get elected; isn't that politics?

Perhaps I will abstain from voting for any of them this coming general election and just observe how the winner does during his first term.

Justiniano Leon Jr.

  1. Salisbury voters need to wake up this time around. This includes the college students and renters of the slumlords properties. The slummers cannot get your voting records. You need to vote your own mind. Students need to remember what Comegys,Shields etc. did to you this past year. Time for big changes and change will come.

  2. I got my Campbell sign yesterday. Call and get yours 410-860-0893 or go to her web site
www.campbell4council.net and request a sign, volunteer or contribute. This guy is right whether you agree with her all of the time or not she uses common sense, does her homework and listens. Reelect Campbell!

  3. MS. Campbell is our only chance to keeping present or future council/mayor honest.

  4. Even if he were a credible candidate, Mr. Boda's allegiance to Bubba/Barrie would be enough to disqualify him.

  5. Yeah, you don't got to agree with Campbell all the time to appreciate her honesty and hard work.

The 4 to 2 controversy was created by the slumlords anyway. Word.

  6. Mr. Leon:

Please don't sit out the mayor's race. Suggest looking at Bob Caldwell's website --

Remeber how he orgamized the tax referendum petition in 2007. He's really the man for these tough times.

  8. I think Bob Caldwell is a good guy, but Jim Ireton has stepped up and put a target on his own back a number of times when it comes to the crime issue. That's why Ireton has my vote.

Debbie Campbell has confirmed in spades my vote for her the first time around. I wouldn't even consider that guy running against her.

I hope if Mr. Leon can't vote for any of the candidates, he'll at least vote for Ireton to vote against Comegys. Unless he wants more of the Tilghman "leadership." Hope he makes the right choice there, too.

  9. All Caldwell or Ireton Supporters:

We can vote for two of the candidates in the primary, so do the smart thing and vote for both guys.

Let's bump Comegys in the primary -- Bye-Bye, Bubba!
